Purchased this for a relative who was looking for a budget PC to be able to play games on their 1080p monitor. Strictly on a budget of $600 and while building with all new parts would have went over their budget, I was able to help them find something used from a friend who was upgrading their setup and selling their old desktop PC. Dusted/cleaned out the case and leaned up the cabling before installing Windows 10 and making sure everything works. Hopefully this PC will last for at least 7-10 years.$600.00 -

The original goal was to play Counter-Strike, and now I play all kinds of games ranging from Valorant, Overwatch, Witcher, Red Dead, R6, etc. Something I would have done different in hindsight is getting a stronger processor, as even though I game at 1440p, a stronger processer with more cores would have been better for streaming and school work.$1,147.94 -

This gaming PC was made after a few of the family's windows laptops were damaged. We have a mac at home, but wanted a dedicated Windows PC at home. I used one of the Micro Center Intel bundles as the basis for the gaming build (The $250 one with the Core i5), then picked out parts to build on top of it. A good thing for my current budget was that I had various storage devices at hand for this build. I did decide to get the case elsewhere as I found an open box deal for a case that normally costs $100. I am happy with how things have turned out for this build. For upgrades, I plan on buying more sticks of ram to double the memory capacity and I am in the middle of getting be quiet case fans for the desktop as the case only had two pre-installed and were quite loud and rumbled a lot. I know the motherboard supports the current 14th gen cpu's, so I may do that whenever those go down in price. And if necessary, I might change the CPU cooler if the current $20 one craps out in the future.$772.92 -

In the bustling town where I grew up, there weren't many options for computer enthusiasts like me. Sure, there were a handful of small computer shops scattered around, each offering a mishmash of components, but none could compare to the tech haven that is Microcenter. My journey into the world of building PCs began amidst these humble surroundings. Armed with determination and a modest budget, I scoured the shelves of these local stores, piecing together my first rig. It wasn't perfect, but it was mine—a testament to my budding passion for all things tech. As I tinkered with my creation, learning the ins and outs of hardware assembly, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more out there, something beyond the limitations of my small town's offerings. That something turned out to be Microcenter. The first time I set foot in that gleaming megastore, I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Row upon row of pristine components stretched out before me, gleaming under the fluorescent lights. It was a paradise for any PC enthusiast, with shelves stocked high with the latest processors, graphics cards, and peripherals. But it wasn't just the sheer variety of products that captivated me—it was the expertise of the staff. Unlike the often clueless employees at the local shops, the Microcenter team were true professionals, eager to share their knowledge and offer advice on even the most obscure tech questions. Armed with the resources of Microcenter and the guidance of its knowledgeable staff, I embarked on my next build with newfound confidence. Gone were the days of settling for "okay" parts; now, I had access to the best of the best. With their help, I carefully selected each component, ensuring that my new rig would be a masterpiece of performance and reliability. As I sat back and admired my completed build, I couldn't help but marvel at how far I'd come. From humble beginnings in those small-town computer shops to the pinnacle of PC building excellence at Microcenter, my journey had been nothing short of extraordinary. And as I powered up my new rig for the first time, I knew that the best was yet to come. At its core lay the beating heart of my creation, the Intel i7 8700k, a processor as reliable as it was powerful. With its six cores and twelve threads, it was the engine that drove my digital adventures, powering through the most demanding of tasks with ease. Surrounding it, like loyal soldiers standing guard, were 32GB of RAM, a veritable army of memory, ready to tackle any challenge I threw their way. And nestled snugly within the belly of the beast was a lightning-fast 1TB SSD, its silent whispers promising swift load times and snappy system responsiveness. But it was the crown jewel of my rig—the RTX 2070 SUPER GPU—that truly set it apart. With its ray-tracing prowess and blistering rendering speeds, it transformed every pixel into a masterpiece, bringing my virtual worlds to life with unparalleled beauty and realism. Together, we embarked on a journey unlike any other, a journey into the heart of gaming and streaming glory. From the darkest dungeons to the farthest reaches of outer space, we traversed virtual landscapes with skill and determination, our every triumph and defeat broadcast to an eager audience of fellow adventurers. But it wasn't just about the games—it was about the connection. With my powerful rig, I streamed in crystal-clear HD, my every word and gesture captured with stunning clarity. And as I interacted with my viewers, sharing stories and swapping strategies, I felt a sense of camaraderie unlike anything I'd ever known.$886.96 -

I originally built this comuter to play more casual games like Sims 4, Minecraft with RTX, Stardew Valley, and other emulation. Later when I entered my tech school, I began to use it to learn AutoCad, Blender, Revit, and 3dsmax. None of which I am good at yet lol. Starting last month I got a Quest 2 headset so I could play PCVR games using a link cable like Job Sim, Blade & Sorcery, Vivecraft, and Beat Saber. I use it for 3D printing and Silhouette Studio for crafting and stuff. I wish I didn't cheap out on my motherboard and storage because 1.5 TB isn't really enough anymore and my RAM is only running at 3333 Mhz instead of 3600. There also isn't very many USB ports and RGB headers for everything I would like to connect. Soon I am going to be doing a Snowblind mod whenever the monitor I ordered comes in the mail.$1,329.92 -

My daughter wanted a better computer and since she helps me upgrade mine from time to time she wanted to build her own. We told her if she could keep it around 500.00 budget we'd help her, so we scoured forums and youtube videos for less expensive builds. We found Toasty Bros there, and they in turn directed us to microcenter where we found a very nice cpu/motherboard/ram combo. with the combo and new case we came in around $570. She got her wish and I got a great father-daughter moment to cherish the rest of my life. :D$574.95 -

I built this because I wanted to build the smallest form factor desktop that was reasonably possible relative to my performance goals. Once I decided to use an AMD processor with Raedon graphics built in, there was nothing holding me back from making it as compact as possible. I know that the random application of sloppy electrical tape looks bad with the panel removed. But the goal was to black out light-colored components from showing through the mesh and it does indeed look better when the case is closed up.$440.95 -

It is a gaming rig, and I play video games like Ace Combat 7, Doom Eternal, Titanfall 2, and more. I plan on upgrading the PSU and getting a case with an optical disk drive in the future. I may also upgrade the GPU and Cooler. The case is an ATX Case that I got off of amazon for 35 ish dollars. It is not very good, but for what it costs it is not bad at all. In the future, I plan to dabble in small amounts of video editing and music production as well, and maybe even use it for game development! The reason why I built this rig was because I've wanted to assemble a PC for quite a while. Technology interests me so building it after saving up from my first job for it was a fulfilling experience. Edit: I forgot to mention that I got the CPU, Motherboard, and Ram, from a microcenter bundle, so the total did not come out to how much it shows. I just entered the MSRP prices.$863.95 -

As a kid, I always wanted to have a gaming pc of my own, where I could crush any game I wanted and push the limits of performance. My build started in 2017, and I saved every penny I could find to afford it. It's carried me throughout the years to today, with some upgrades of course. Originally, the build consisted of an Intel Core i5-7600K, MSI Z270 Gaming M7, ASUS GTX 1070 STRIX OC, Samsung 850 PRO, and a Seagate Barracuda 2TB. I play indie games like Lethal Company and Undertale, and big games like Battlefield 2042, Mortal Kombat 1, Five Nights at Freddy's, and VRChat. Throughout the time I spent building my pc, I wish I had purchased the parts at once instead of incrementally buying a part when it was possible. I could've gotten newer hardware had I done the former. In the future, I definitely would like to get a 2TB NVME SSD to replace my Seagate hard drive, and upgrade to 32GB of DDR4 ram. I also foresee a switch to the AMD Ryzen 7000 processor line.$2,646.49 -

It started with my acquisition of an old office pc at an affordable price, kickstarting my interests in pc building. The Dell Optiplex 9020 comes with a solid processor that is still viable in this day. The Intel Core i7-4790 was a beast during its time and still manages to keep up with the latest games of today. Next, I increased my RAM to 16GB of DDR3 which is what I had lying around from other computers that were not in use. Right after, I installed a 2 TB Seagate HDD that i got from Microcenter. Finally, I installed an Asus 1050ti into the pc that allowed me to transform this computer from an office pc into a true gaming pc. Luckily, this model of gpu does not require any additional power so it can run completely off the motherboard and the the 290 Watt PSU. While this pc isn't much compared to the Titans of today, my plan is to slowly improve this pc as parts come on sale and I find great deals. My next plans are to upgrade the PSU, GPU, and transplant this PC into a new case. Additionally, I plan to improve the cooling and both the motherboard and processor. I really look forward to overclocking my little Frankestein one day. All of this will depend on my luck with deals which adds to the fun because there's no way I know what I'll end up with in the future!$254.98 -

She loves pink and unicorns and rainbows. Thankfully no unicorns were involved in this build (other than "unicorn vomit" rgb) but the other two faves are very much prominent. The most demanding game she actually plays might be Bug Fables. So the 4600G will do just fine. Anyway, this is what she wanted. She likes it.$400.94 -

I built this pc because I wanted a small portable gaming system that can fit in my backpack. It allows me to take the pc on the go and play games at a friend's house or at a hotel. The only game I played so far on it is Yakuza 0 and it runs great at 60fps considering I am only using the AMD integrated graphics. The case I bought has space for a single slot graphics card, so I plan on purchasing a rx 6400 or gtx 1650 in the future to play more modern games.$449.93 -

I build this desktop out of components that were no longer being used by a family memeber. I had a Ryzen processor (without cooler), motherboard, and graphics card all available to me to start out with. I then purchased the missing pieces bit by bit (at very low acquisition cost) until I had everything I needed to put this build together. I guess one thing I would do a little bit differently - if I had the opportunity to go back and make purchases all over again - is to piece together different components specifically with a uniform RGB aesthetic in mind. For example. I really like how setting pink RGB looks inside my white case. However it irritates me a little bit to see my CPU cooler fan stuck on a red color that I cannot change.$381.93 -

I use my computer for playing Counter-Strike, statistical computing, watching streams on twitch, youtube videos, movies, and tv shows. My computer is like the Ship of Theseus in that I have slowly upgraded the parts from my original PC that I built in 2012, though nothing of the original remains. My original computer is now used for NAS Storage, the highlight of that build was the 7950 HD graphics card which performed admirably for years. In the future, I'd like to upgrade the CPU to a CPU with higher core count Ryzen 7, but my upgrades are infrequent, I had my previous computer for 10 years before I began making upgrades. If I were to upgrade to a new platform I would switch to a mini-itx form factor, though the high cost of mini-itx parts is holding me back.$1,437.87 -

There is really one overarching purpose behind my reasoning for putting together this desktop. Fun. Yes, that's the reason. After doing some upgrades to my main work-from-home machine earlier this year, I had several extraneous components just lying aroudn the house. For now this desktop is going into a guest bedroom in our house where it can be used for basic web browsing.$396.93 -
