This build was fueled by 1, needing a computer to use for everyday things, 2, wanting to play some light games like Minecraft and Portal, and 3, trying to remain within a decent budget. If I was to do it all over again, I would probably have gotten a better CPU. When I bought my CPU it cost me about $100 due to the silicon shortages of the past couple year; now it's only worth around $50.$574.97 -

Ryzen 3600+Gigabyte B450M DS3H WiFi+Radeon RX6400 low-profile in a Dell Optiplex 990 case. Front panel USB has been swapped from factory wiring to generic USB 3 connectors using the stock USB port locations. Power switch and indicator light were rewired using standard wiring. Built for streaming services and light gaming. RAM is Neo Forza Faye 16GB dual channel DDR4-3000 I had in the parts bin. SSD is a WD Blue SN570 500GB PCI-E 3.0x4 device. PSU is a Solid Gear TFX unit, as the stock Dell unit didn't have enough power on the 12-volt rail for the CPU and GPU. (I also set the CPU to "Eco Mode" so I have more head room on the 12-volt rail.) Heaven runs an average of 52FPS at 1080p ultra with extreme tessellation. Forest Benchmark was running at between 70 and 85 fps. Sackboy's Big Adventure runs 1080p 60 fps framelocked with raytraced shadows and all other settings on high. And yes, the optical drive still works.$395.94 -

I had a few parts left over from shuffling parts around between my main desktop and NAS box and decided to upgrade my wife's machine. Nothing spectacular here, just finding some good deals and some bargain parts to complete an upgrade. Overall works great, and didn't really encounter much problems with the Intel Arc card, which I was a bit worried about given the drivers aren't fully stable yet.$769.92
