I had an (probably 10 years) old computer that I built and have been using it daily ever since. At two separate points throughout it's lifecycle, I made two massive upgrades - 1) going from an HDD boot drive to an SSD, and 2) upgrading the video card from one that was mid-range at the time of installation to a modern mid-range card. The video card upgrade was probably 3-4 years ago. Now that I am permanently remote in my day job, I get to spend an enormous amount of time on sitting at my computer. With new lines of CPUs having just been released, I figured now was as good of time as any to do a full, much-needed rebuild of my daily PC. I work on my computer for the full day, every day, and work on side projects (web development, writing, etc.) in the evenings. I do some gaming, but haven't really had a capable machine to really enjoy it in many years. With that, I am many years behind on PC games, so I don't need to play the latest and greatest. With that, and a budget, in mind, I built the whole system from the ground up, but decided to reuse the existing video card. GPU prices are ever-so-slightly beginning to come down, so I thought I'd wait a bit to buy one while catching up on the past 6-8 years of games I haven't been able to play.$869.93 -

Moving to Chicago and starting a new job, I decided to finally splurge on a decent gaming PC that would hopefully be a little bit future proof. Unfortunately current gen GPUs seem to just be more expensive, beefier versions of last gen, so I went for an older GPU that I got a great deal on at MC. I plan on playing a variety of AAA games: Elden Ring, Spider-Man, Skyrim, the Witcher 3, as well as things that are intensive like Minecraft w/ fancy shaders. I also will use this for everyday stuff like watching videos, web browsing, coding (not super intensive compilation).$1,209.95 -

Other than CS:GO and COD he didn't have any set type or genre of games he planned on playing so I wanted to make something that can handle anything. So far he's added World of Tanks and War Thunder to the games he's played.$1,307.90 -

I enjoyed the build very much and ran into only one problem. My motherboard thought that I was using a AIO and delivered more power to the CPU causing it to get quite hot under gaming temps (95C+), I later changed this in the BIOS.$1,418.93 -

I would love to get more frames. The 5600 is bottlenecking my 6800xt at 1080 and 1440p. A 5800x3d would be the cheapest upgrade if it comes down to $225ish. If not the next step is a full new build taking it to ryzen 7000 am5. The 6800xt needs a 7900 to get the 6800xt to reach its max. People forget that Cpu in the mid high range from 1-2 years can bootleneck even a 2 year old gpu like mines. The 4090 will take 2 years at least to get the bottleneck from 1080p for shooters type games, once a cpu in 2 years can keep up to it. Thanks for reading. I do get 250fps in MW2 on my build at 1440p.$1,422.91 -

My first ever PC build, it's a massive upgrade from my old GTX 1660 super and i5-8400. I use it to play many games, such as red dead redemption 2 and elden ring. It runs very quietly (except for some minor coil whine from the GPU) and I couldn't be happier with it.$1,458.91 -

I've been wanting to build a new PC for quite some time now, and seeing all the Fractal North builds really pushed me to build one of my own. I set a budget of $1600 for this build and the build was about that much after taxes are included. I went for the white case because most of my furniture is white or wood so it fits in perfectly. I've been using it daily for about a week now and it's been great! Super fast and quiet. I love it!$1,479.92 -
