The main goal of this build was to get a high-performance gaming experience while still being extremely capable of running intense productivity workloads. Since my last build was also extremely loud with 12+ fans in the Antec LanBoy Air case, I set out to build something that would be significantly quieter while gaming and succeeded. This system is also intended to be ultra reliable, requiring only periodic dusting for maintenance, and highly upgradeable over the next few years as needed. This build ended up going a completely different direction from the i9-13900K and Z790 Maximus Hero that I originally purchased, but I have to say that I've been extremely happy with it even though I've always been an Intel fan.$3,607.89 -

I built this computer for gaming and running virtual machines for work/study (I'm in Cyber Security studying forensics). I wanted something that could do it all, so when the wife set me loose with the credit card for my birthday and said "Build what you want" I built this beast (though I will say I was going to go with the MEG or Ace, but thanks to the current apocalypse situation the only thing in stock was the Godlike). I don't currently have much in the way of upgrades planned for this system, but I will likely upgrade the video card once I see what this next generation has to offer from intel and amd. I currently I play Wow, Battlefield, Just Cause 4, Farcry 5, TombRaider, and I pop on Apex Legends and Fortnite from time to time. I wasn't able to list a few of my parts on the builder so here's the extras: Sabent Rocket 2TB NVME Gen4 Deepcool's Castle cooler 4 Noctua black fans Conductonaut thermal compound$3,129.89 -

Hello, my name is Arte and I'm completely addicted to overhauling my desktop pc for the sake of making marginal improvements. Or perhaps I just enjoy tinkering. Regardless, those are my honest reasons of why I built this. This machine functions as and replaces my primary gaming desktop pc. I mostly play fps games such as Doom Eternal. I was really tired of ddr4 and was ready to make the switch to ddr5 since the price on ddr5 has come down significantly over recent months. I also upgraded my video card to a RTX 4070 so that I could use gsync on a recently acquired monitor. I also upgraded to a more robust air cpu cooler so that it could handle the temps of an i7 13700k cpu.$2,364.91 -

I've been piecing this build together a bit at a time for the last six months. I mainly kept an eye out for components that would be a significant upgrade over my 11900K / 3070 Ti desktop build. Shoutout to the employees at my local microcenter who take time to hunt down the random clearance items I order. Everything but the AIO cooler and the ssd storage devices were bought at microcenter. Currently on the 13700k, I have all P cores overclocked to 5.8 with all E cores at 4.4 with vcore set to 1.35 and medium LLC. My ddr5 is modestly overclocked from 6000 to 6400 for the time being. I need to re-learn how to overclock ram because a lot of bios settings have become more complex since ddr3-ddr4 days. From what I understand, Hynix A die modules should be able to overclock significantly higher frequencies - I just need to learn how to pull that off.$1,624.25 -

I've been in a long wait with MSI while they process a RMA replacement for my primary graphics card, a MSI SUPRIM 3090 Ti. During this downtime, I got impatient and decided to use the opportunity of not having a giant brick of a graphics card to work around. I ended up upgrading most of my system: new motherboard (MSI z790 Ace), new cpu (Intel i5 24600k), and new kit of ddr5 (32gb of G.Skill TridentZ 6400). In the current state of cardlessness, everything is running great as far as a general use desktop PC. Just waiting on MSI to get the card back in and resume gaming.$1,594.93
