I built this PC in the midst of the GPU Shortage, with parts salvaged from a prebuilt gaming machine. There are no original parts left in the case at this point, but it all started with migrating the build from the original case to the Lian Li Lancool II for improved airflow. I'll also say that case-swapping a prebuilt is more work than building from scratch. From there, over the next two years, I would go on to upgrade the power supply, RAM, GPU, AIO cooler, and added Lian Li RGB Strimer cables for extra FPS! Just two days ago, I swapped the original motherboard and CPU for one of microcenters AMD bundles and now this thing is in its penultimate form. I plan to get rid of all of the RGB and put this born-again-and-again beast into a Fractal North XL case, as much like this PC has matured over the last few years, so have my tastes...even if it means I'll lose some FPS due to lack of RGB.$3,192.90 -

For games, I enjoy racing sims and racing arcade games such as Project CARS 2 and 3, Forza, and Assetto Corsa Competizione in VR at 4k 90hz. For AI, I run large language models locally, which takes a ton of memory bandwidth and capacity. Microcenter offered a great price on an i7 12700k, which can run my 64GB DDR5 kit at 6200 MT/s. To get the full 6600 MT/s that my kit is rated for, I can uprgrade to a 14th gen chip at a later time if I choose. The massive VRMs of this system's motherboard, the MSI Z690 Ace, should have no issues with the higher core count and power draw of 14th gen. Still, I am pleased with the i7 12700k's performance right now. Upgrading to 12th gen from my old 10th gen setup doubled my memory bandwidth and almost doubled the speed of my large language models. The Gigabyte 3090 Ti is a great VR and AI card too: 24GB VRAM is not a limiting factor in gaming, and almost every VR game runs better on Nvidia than AMD. 24GB VRAM is the sweet spot at this time for AI.$1,824.98 -

As a kid, I always wanted to have a gaming pc of my own, where I could crush any game I wanted and push the limits of performance. My build started in 2017, and I saved every penny I could find to afford it. It's carried me throughout the years to today, with some upgrades of course. Originally, the build consisted of an Intel Core i5-7600K, MSI Z270 Gaming M7, ASUS GTX 1070 STRIX OC, Samsung 850 PRO, and a Seagate Barracuda 2TB. I play indie games like Lethal Company and Undertale, and big games like Battlefield 2042, Mortal Kombat 1, Five Nights at Freddy's, and VRChat. Throughout the time I spent building my pc, I wish I had purchased the parts at once instead of incrementally buying a part when it was possible. I could've gotten newer hardware had I done the former. In the future, I definitely would like to get a 2TB NVME SSD to replace my Seagate hard drive, and upgrade to 32GB of DDR4 ram. I also foresee a switch to the AMD Ryzen 7000 processor line.$2,646.49 -

I got into sim racing last summer playing ACC very casually on my GF's pc. As I got more into the hobby I wanted to upgrade to a triple monitor setup. This meant upgrading the PC as well and getting a monitor stand. I decided to go all in and spring for a 4090 and 7800X3D, and took advantage of microcenters bundle deal with the cpu/ram/mobo. Shortly after getting the monitor stand. I end up getting a cockpit as well. I regret purchasing the monitor stand and cockpit separately. I should have just gotten the TK P1 Pro bundle, i would have gotten an upgraded cockpit along with the keyboard tray and mouse pad for the same price . Im still very happy with my current setup. Gonna hold off on any more upgrades for the time being, even though I am a bit tempted to upgrade my wheelbase/wheel lol. I wanted to create a high-end gaming PC that would leave even the most serious gamers, streamers, and simulators in awe. The sleek white design with the custom Corsair Water Loop gives it a sophisticated look. And let's not forget the stunning Lian Li Strimer Plus RGB extension cables that add a touch of brilliance to the setup. But the real showstopper is the white Radeon RX 7900xtx Hellhound Spectral, which truly completes the aesthetic. Its power and performance are unmatched, delivering an immersive gaming experience like no other. To make this PC not just a powerhouse but also a work of art, I opted for the 128GB G Skill z5 Trident Memory. This not only ensures lightning-fast speeds but also adds a touch of elegance to the overall design. From its impressive specs to its breathtaking visuals, this gaming PC is a true masterpiece. It's not just a computer, but a statement piece that showcases the passion and dedication we have for gaming.$4,399.35 -

I had it for about 4 years, and did the best I could to upgrade it. After years of suffering through ungodly slow daily use, I finally became old enough to get a job. I worked all summer long and saved enough money that I could buy the computer and only spend half of the money I had saved. I decided that I would go all out, in the hopes that this build would last me a long time. I went with, at the time, all the latest and greatest parts that I could buy, without spending so much that I am approaching the point of diminishing returns. And so the Space Heater was born, it keeps me warm during winters and makes me sweat during the summer. Gaming aside, the quality of life of being able to restart your computer in under a minute, not have to wait for 45 minutes to render a single frame in blender, and to just play any game I want without having to think about whether or not I can run it has been absolutely life changing.$1,730.94 -

I needed something that would take nearly anything I threw at it and not miss a beat. I like to multitask while editing photos and usually have a few different programs open at once for my workflow and really need a system that would be able to handle this and render the changes made while editing, same thing for when I'm working on editing videos. When I'm not working, I do enjoy some pretty heavy gaming. 4k was not a huge worry to me, as I would have to update my monitors, but also wanted a rig that would run the AAA titles at 2k and provide a great experience. I have also recently gotten into Sim Racing and wanted a system that I could move into VR with if I wanted to. This build checked all of the boxes for me and I am very happy with the results. Pair with a super ultrawide OLED display. The purpose is for pure gaming, no work, so and manage and remove all the windows and motherboard bloatware, and the build is super smooth, quiet, cool, fast, and efficient. The AMD processor has 16 physical cores and 32 logical cores not so much for productivity, but for increased headroom and future proofing for when games begin to inevitably make better use of it in the foreseeable future. Although with 32 logical cores, some good productivity is on the table, but not recommended if using with an OLED monitor for risk of burn in due to static images. This is meant only for gaming with headroom to spare. I will admit the $300 AIO liquid cooling system is slightly indulgent, but I didn't want to risk it with expensive CPU, and there were not a lot of reliable reviews and testimonies for the cheaper coolers at the time, so it would have been a real gamble to go with one of the cheaper ones.$3,589.93 -

Introducing my latest creation, a build that combines power, efficiency, and aesthetics to cater to both my professional and... Introducing my latest creation, a build that combines power, efficiency, and aesthetics to cater to both my professional and personal computing needs. At the heart of this machine is the mighty Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core CPU, coupled with NVIDIA RTX A4000 workstation GPU, 64GB of 3200MHz RAM, all nestled mostly* inside the sleek and compact Fractal Terra Mini case. Why I Built It: As a manufacturing engineer, I work extensively with software and require a system that can effortlessly manage complex modeling in SolidWorks and render Unreal Engine graphics. Simultaneously, as a lifelong gaming enthusiast, I wanted a rig capable of delivering unparalleled gaming experiences. From my daily work routines to unwinding with the latest AAA titles, this build fits the bill. This rig has transformed my workflow, enabling faster render times, smoother gaming experiences, and overall improved efficiency. Professional Work: In my profession, time and precision are of the essence. Whether it's modeling intricate designs in SolidWorks or handling software integral to manufacturing engineering, the synergy of Ryzen 9 and NVIDIA RTX A4000 makes my work more efficient and enjoyable. Gaming: As a gamer, I wanted a system that can conquer the latest AAA titles and provide immersive gameplay. With the powerful combination of Ryzen 9 and NVIDIA RTX A4000, I've been playing games like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and NFS Heat at ultra-high settings without breaking a sweat. Modeling and Graphics: For my professional pursuits, this build shines in applications like SolidWorks, where precision and performance are paramount. Unreal Engine graphics projects come to life like never before, rendering in real-time and allowing me to explore my creativity in new dimensions. Future Upgrades & Hindsight: In the future, I might explore adding expanded storage capacity to accommodate larger projects. Overall, I am ecstatic with the result. Conclusion: This build is more than just a computer; it's a reflection of my professional life as a manufacturing engineer and my love for gaming and technology. It's a hub for creativity, relaxation, and connection, playing a central role in my daily life. I welcome fellow engineers, gamers, and enthusiasts to share their thoughts, insights, or simply join in the conversation. Let's connect and continue to innovate!$2,174.91 -

After building my first rig, I was headfirst into the world of PC building. I didn't know my next gaming computer was going to be a space heater though. This build I went for the all white with silver finish aesthetic, and it came out better than I expected. Although it was a bit nerve wracking to troubleshoot the overheating cpu, it was a really enjoyable experience. I use the computer mainly for gaming, I enjoy playing hyper realistic simulation games like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, Forza Horizon 5, and PC building simulator 2 (yes when I said I went headfirst into PC building I meant it), and some other games that this computer is too powerful for. One upgrade I definitely need to consider is getting more storage, because nowadays games somehow manage to take up half an ssd.$2,239.59 -

My computer was an optiplex that started out bad having a modem and integrated graphics from 2012. The games I play are fps games like Fortnite, and I also play racing games like asseto corsa and Nr2003. Upgrades I have done are putting a 2060 in it and adding 16gb of ram. With the $25 off I will upgrade my power supply to power the 2060 consistently overtime, Thanks for your time. (The 2060 is not installed yet)$280.00 -

This is a build that I originally bought off of Ebay, but I've upgraded it quite a bit since then. I use it primarily for watching videos/movies, but I also enjoy playing games and sim racing. It also works well in VR in games like Automobilista 2, ACC, Dirt Rally 2, etc. I've upgraded the graphics card, ram, cables, and fans. I had a GTX 1080 Hybrid before upgrading to an AMD 6650XT. The white cables were added the same time as the GPU as well as the RGB fans. I just recently upgraded my ram to 32gb of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro at 3600mhz. My next upgrade is most likely going to be the CPU and motherboard. I have to upgrade both as the current z390-A doesn't support anything higher than the 9900k, and I currently have a 9700k. I'm looking at getting a 12700k with a TUF Gaming WIFI VI motherboard. Any updates will listed when they happen.$1,499.92 -

But in frankness, some simpler games like Mirror's Edge, Warframe, and Stanley Parable really did run pretty nicely on this setup. Productivity-wise though, Photoshop, IntelliJ, Resolve, & PyCharm runs okay, but I'm running out of RAM frequently with the dozens of browser tabs I've got in the background(I'll get around to closing them! ...eventually).$926.99 -

My build started as an upgrade to a 7 year old computer, It had a 5th gen i7-5820 processor on an Asus X-99 chipset motherboard, running 32 Gb DDR4 ram, multiple forms of storage from a 1 Tb Samsung NVME drive, to 3 SSD and 2 HDD totaling close to 10 Tb. Corsair 100 AIO for cooling, and an Asus GTX 1080 graphics card. I first tried just upgrading the graphics card, wondering how much of a bottleneck my processor would be, To my surprise it worked really well upgrading to an Asus Tuff 4070Ti. Then I noticed microcenter had a sale on a new 13th Gen i7, with 32Gigs of DDR5 and a Z790 Asus motherboard. Since I had just been blessed with a financial gift, I went ahead and tried the combo. Wow is all could say, what a night and day difference I noticed running my main sims (MSFS2020 & DCS) as well as with my editing software Lightroom classic and Filmora 12. At this point I thought to myself, after 7 years with my last build it was time to trust the Lord with the finances and finish off the build to my liking. That included the beautifully built and designed NZXT H9 Flow case with Lian Li SL fans and the Lian Li 360 AIO as well as a new MSI Pcie5 ready 850 watt power supply. I also wanted a faster gen 4 M.2 so I added the Samsung 2TB 980 NVME drive with a new key for windows 11. As an avid photographer for my immediate & church family as well as my long time love of flight sims, this new computer is a very appreciated gift from my Lord Jesus Christ. And I am grateful and humbled for the doors he had to open to make it my reality.$2,755.92 -

I wanted something as future proof as possible (If that is even a thing) I'm primarilly interested in rally racing. Dirt Rally 2.0 is what i spend the bulk of my time playing. This PC handles everything I throw at it but it's a little furnace. My Son is pushing me to stream but I don't know. Maybe some day. This system is paired with a Samsung G9 49" 1000R curved monitor and it is perfect for racing. Not the best choice for regular gaming for which the race rig does double duty.$3,743.89 -

This is my first time dealing with a water cooled gpu and overlooked the case so you will have to have the vertical mount from Lian Li if you plan to run this gpu in the o11d evo case if you don't want the glass pushing against the tubes. The glass panel will shut but I don't like putting stress on the tubes. The pc will easily play Cyberpunk (without rtx overdrive), hogwarts legacy, and Horizon 5 at 100+ fps on max settings with Ray tracing on a 3440x1440p monitor. The GPU overclocks pretty easily and scored very high on 3d mark port royal. I have added a picture of the best overclock setup I could figure out so far but I am still pretty new to overclocking.(just watch JayzTwoCents' review of the card as he is way better than me at that) The case is very easy to cable manage and has a removable hdd bay that sits right above the power supply. However, if you plan on using the hdd bay I would not recommend the Corsair shift power supplies as it gives you very little room to access the cables. The vertical gpu mount does take a couple weeks to arrive from amazon so if you want the build completed all at once I would order that in advance. Once the gpu mount arrives I plan on getting the final 3 intake fans installed and will then be completed.$4,254.87 -

I posted my previous build before saying I would upgrade some parts, but I went ahead and replaced mostly everything. I went from a Ryzen 5 3600 to and Intel 17-12700k. This processor is freaking nuts. Micro had a bundle sale on it with a Z690 Tuf motherboard and ram. Continuing on, I went from an UpHere air cooler to the Lian Ali Galahad. This aio works wonders with this cpu, 75 degrees and high loads, 30 resting. I also went from 6600xt to a 6750xt. For 100 dollars more, it's worth every cent. It just performs so well with games in general. I average 124fps on high settings with 2k res on Hogwarts. I added 16gigs of more Ram for multitasking purposes, it also looks better with all four films filled up. Lastly, I added a mini monitor for temps and whatnot. I generally got it cause it looks cool. It does have high res tho!$1,598.88 -
