Recently, my old system with an Intel i7-4790k and a GTX 1070ti broke down. I tried for 2 days but could not get it to boot pass window start up loading screen. It's because of that and how outdated it is of a system, I decided to upgrade to a new system. I mostly just doing some lite web browsing as well as doing spreadsheet and video calling. I used to game but since my PC couldn't keep up with the new games as well as life gotten busier I stopped gaming. However, with this new machine of a beast. Every game that I tested now can do well above 100fps with games that goes to the 200fps. So hopefully I can dive back into gaming soon. I went with and Ryzen 7 5800x and ROG Strix B550 motherboard as well as an Radeon RX 7800 XT with the NZXT H6 Flow housing. I know this doesn't have much of an upgrade ability beside from going to the 5800x3d and possibly better GPU however because I want an all-white esthetic and AM4 is the cheapest to go for it.$1,499.92 -

PC 2 I made for my spouse to work on and also play pc games with me. Most of the games I play are found on Steam, Blizzard, Epic Games, LoL, Valorant, etc. I'm a OIF/OEF Vet myself, my teenage kids wanted to get into PC gaming (they're "upgrading" from consoles/Fortnite) and I come from an automotive repair background so putting together a PC is trivial in comparison to an engine or fine tuning suspension for an auto cross track. Anywho, future upgrades to include the new 6800 XT or some 3080's were available but I'll deal with having 5700 XT's for now as a place holder. Almost returned both these NZXT cases (still within 30day window) and buy 2 new Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini cases + 12*LL120 case fans but too lazy to take apart both PC components JUST to have the NEW case.$3,267.86 -

This story goes back to 2019 when I had a constantly revolving wish list of parts for most of the year as my PC at the time was a budget build from 2014 with a GTX 650 and i3 3rd gen. Gaming wasnt horrible as long as i played on medium to low settings or alternatively played on lower resolutions. Eventually I got tired of it and after graduating college and working a year or two I decided it was time to upgrade. Febuary 2nd 2020, I decide to pull the trigger and made an afternoon trip to MicroCenter and came back with this $1000 build and assembled it before dinner. I added an M.2 SSD as well from amazon to the build. This computer is easily 10 times better than the former one. Across multiple seasonal Steam sales i had bought the Borderlands series, the Bioshock series, the Witcher series, Dishonored 1 and 2, and the Darksouls series but never got to enjoy lag free gaming experience... until now! This gaming build coupled with a 144hz Freesync monitor has changed everything to say the least. I did my best to OC as much as I could but I was unable to get past 3200mhz ram speed on my 3666mhz DIMMs and a CPU clock of 4ghz. If i had more budget i would have gone with 4 channel ram setup and a AIO cooler to avoid the heating up my room so much. Regardless, now I can finally play Minecraft with fancy graphics in peace once and for all.$977.93
