I've wanted to build a gaming PC since last August, and now I've done it. It's much better than I first planned. The primary reason for this PC is for gaming, so deciding which GPU to get is important. It's the first part I brought. I ended up with the RX 7800 XT because it's enough for the type of game I play and it was on sale. Building this PC was surprisingly easy with the help of YouTube video guides. Overall, I am really happy with the result.

I built this PC for gaming, schoolwork, etc. I had a great experience with AMD the last time I built my PC, so this time I decided to go with them again. They have a great selection of affordable, powerful GPUs. In the low-end to mid-range markets, their GPU always outperforms NVIDIA GPU cards at the lower price point. Anyway, I am very happy with this build so far. It's been running great.

In the bustling town where I grew up, there weren't many options for computer enthusiasts like me. Sure, there were a handful of small computer shops scattered around, each offering a mishmash of components, but none could compare to the tech haven that is Microcenter. My journey into the world of building PCs began amidst these humble surroundings. Armed with determination and a modest budget, I scoured the shelves of these local stores, piecing together my first rig. It wasn't perfect, but it was mine—a testament to my budding passion for all things tech. As I tinkered with my creation, learning the ins and outs of hardware assembly, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more out there, something beyond the limitations of my small town's offerings. That something turned out to be Microcenter. The first time I set foot in that gleaming megastore, I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Row upon row of pristine components stretched out before me, gleaming under the fluorescent lights. It was a paradise for any PC enthusiast, with shelves stocked high with the latest processors, graphics cards, and peripherals. But it wasn't just the sheer variety of products that captivated me—it was the expertise of the staff. Unlike the often clueless employees at the local shops, the Microcenter team were true professionals, eager to share their knowledge and offer advice on even the most obscure tech questions. Armed with the resources of Microcenter and the guidance of its knowledgeable staff, I embarked on my next build with newfound confidence. Gone were the days of settling for "okay" parts; now, I had access to the best of the best. With their help, I carefully selected each component, ensuring that my new rig would be a masterpiece of performance and reliability. As I sat back and admired my completed build, I couldn't help but marvel at how far I'd come. From humble beginnings in those small-town computer shops to the pinnacle of PC building excellence at Microcenter, my journey had been nothing short of extraordinary. And as I powered up my new rig for the first time, I knew that the best was yet to come. At its core lay the beating heart of my creation, the Intel i7 8700k, a processor as reliable as it was powerful. With its six cores and twelve threads, it was the engine that drove my digital adventures, powering through the most demanding of tasks with ease. Surrounding it, like loyal soldiers standing guard, were 32GB of RAM, a veritable army of memory, ready to tackle any challenge I threw their way. And nestled snugly within the belly of the beast was a lightning-fast 1TB SSD, its silent whispers promising swift load times and snappy system responsiveness. But it was the crown jewel of my rig—the RTX 2070 SUPER GPU—that truly set it apart. With its ray-tracing prowess and blistering rendering speeds, it transformed every pixel into a masterpiece, bringing my virtual worlds to life with unparalleled beauty and realism. Together, we embarked on a journey unlike any other, a journey into the heart of gaming and streaming glory. From the darkest dungeons to the farthest reaches of outer space, we traversed virtual landscapes with skill and determination, our every triumph and defeat broadcast to an eager audience of fellow adventurers. But it wasn't just about the games—it was about the connection. With my powerful rig, I streamed in crystal-clear HD, my every word and gesture captured with stunning clarity. And as I interacted with my viewers, sharing stories and swapping strategies, I felt a sense of camaraderie unlike anything I'd ever known.

I wanted to use minimal RGB, so the parts wouldn’t be extremely saturated with RGB, and so I could play more comfortably at night. I chose these parts with a $1300 budget in mind. There were definitely things I believe I could’ve done to improve the build, such as a PSU without daisy-chained PCIE connectors, but it’s the price you pay for a quality unit, I suppose.

This is my first PC build in 10 years and first SFF PC. Its a powerhouse and the best PC I've built to date. I play CS2, Diablo 4, Lost Ark, Black Desert and mostly anticipating and excited for Black Myth Wukong. I plan on upgrading to 7900 XT in the near future so then I won't have to upgrade for years to come. This build was super easy for an SFF ITX build because it came with PSU and custom AIO bundle so I didn't have to think about which of those two parts to buy. Even though it was fairy easy it did take me quite some time to finish the build because I wanted to make sure everything was right. I've had to take the PC apart many times and initially I thought it was going to be a pain because of the size but its actually super easy to service as all the panels come off. I've actually changed parts a few times and added custom cables so I had to make many micro adjustments so it gets easier and faster each time. One small "mod" I did to fit the bottom thick 28mm 120mm fans on the bottom was I had to elevate the GPU and to do that I added 4 6-32 nuts and 3/4" screw. It adds about 10mm in height giving it just enough clearance to fit the fans. I hope everyone enjoys this build as much as I did!

CPU: The processor I used hasn't been heavily utilized, and it hasn't exceeded 50-60 degrees. This ensures that the CPU remains cool while delivering optimal performance. Cooler: The cooler I chose not only looks great with its RGB lighting, but it's also relatively quiet. However, I would like the pumps to have a smoother curve. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please leave a comment. RAM: The RAM I used is nothing special, but it gets the job done. It came with the CPU as part of a bundle. Motherboard: This is a great first build motherboard, and it also came with the CPU in a bundle. The WiFi speeds are pretty good, and it has all the necessary features for a solid gaming PC.

RAM, and an RX 580 (which was the newest component). This old workhorse could handle most indie and older/more modest 3D games at 1080p, but modern titles were only playable at 30fps and low settings. With my new (long overdue) build, I may not be playing the most graphically intense games out there, but I've been able to max out the following titles at 1440p and comfortably run them above 60fps (where possible) without the need for upscaling: Baldur's Gate III Helldivers 2 Elden Ring Armored Core VI Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Remnant II Last Epoch I've also been able to multitask while playing the aforementioned titles, i.e. streaming several videos on a second monitor without any noticeable dips in game performance.

Recently, my old system with an Intel i7-4790k and a GTX 1070ti broke down. I tried for 2 days but could not get it to boot pass window start up loading screen. It's because of that and how outdated it is of a system, I decided to upgrade to a new system. I mostly just doing some lite web browsing as well as doing spreadsheet and video calling. I used to game but since my PC couldn't keep up with the new games as well as life gotten busier I stopped gaming. However, with this new machine of a beast. Every game that I tested now can do well above 100fps with games that goes to the 200fps. So hopefully I can dive back into gaming soon. I went with and Ryzen 7 5800x and ROG Strix B550 motherboard as well as an Radeon RX 7800 XT with the NZXT H6 Flow housing. I know this doesn't have much of an upgrade ability beside from going to the 5800x3d and possibly better GPU however because I want an all-white esthetic and AM4 is the cheapest to go for it.

I am playing Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077 and Avatar now. Probably more later. I really am glad to have gone all AMD with it. the processor and graphics cards are basically sleeping even while playing on high graphics mode. I sometimes have the performance view of task manager up and I've yet to crack 50% usage. Only thing I may have done differently is a different motherboard. It works fine, but it tried to install a manager that did NOT work. when installed it froze the computer after running. I had to boot into safe mode to get rid of it by deleting manually and removing from the registry. Trying to uninstall froze everything as well. So DON"T install the gigabyte management software.
