My original budget was under $1k. I ended up with a PC almost twice the original budget. But it was all worth it. I am hoping to get a good 7 years out of this PC, so it averages out to be pretty cheap. This build sports a top-of-the-line R7 CPU, an RTX 4070 TI GPU, and 32GB RAM. It's capable of running any game in 4K resolution smoothly. And the gaming experience is far better than any console.$1,854.93 -

This one was built for image processing using either Photoshop and DaVinci Reslove. I have built several systems in the past for myself and family members. This time I wanted to push the performance envelope more and make fewer cost compromises. In Photoshop I experiment with many of the creative tools. I also restore photos and create of still frames for video. For my street photography, I use Photoshop for some of the more challenging RAW processing and color grading. In DaVinci Resolve I edit short documentaries and clean up live stream videos that I produce, including color grading.$3,461.83 -

I build this PC mostly for gaming but also to serve whatever other purposes I may need it for in the future. I mostly play FPS games like Call of Duty, Halo, CS, Apex, and Valorant. However, I also am a big Rocket League and Minecraft player. Right now i’m playing Starfield because I got a free copy thanks to AMD and Microcenter! In the future, I may try to create some youtube vids of my gameplay but we will see. I feel as though my build has been working very good so far, but my first upgrade will probably be a new CPU cooler because the 7800x3d seems to idle a bit hot. (My temps are matching up with other builds I see online). I’ll probably pick up a new mouse and maybe keyboard for a cheap upgrade too.$1,924.87 -

I built it for Blender renders, general gaming at 1440p, and casual work/internet use. It handles titles like Battlefield 2042 and Dead by Daylight with ease. Renders on this rig are incredibly fast compared to my laptop computer with a GTX 1050 (4gb). Complex renders on my laptop would could take several hours. This machine with the 4070Ti cranks out the same projects in mere minutes. It is just mind blowing how quick the frames render. I still plan on making minor changes. For instance, I feel like the cable management could be better. And I hate the look of the Seasonic cables that came standard with the PSU. 32gb is fine for now; however, I might buy another set of 16gb sticks to get this up to 64gb. The 4070TI was expensive and probably overkill but I’m loving the build. Total build cost with deals/sales and MicroCenter combo etc was $1989$2,166.96 -

For general usage, some gaming. I wish I had more games to play but most modern games are either absolute trash that isn't worth playing or indies that are worth playing but don't require much in the terms of power. The 3900XT I got on sale after the 5000 series came out, works well, cooled by a Noctua NH D15. Should I have waited to get a 5950X? Maybe, but I don't need that much. 32GB of ram, surprisngly I regularly use around 24GB of it so I'm glad I went over the 16GB I usually default to. The motherboard is alright, it works. The 5700XT has to be the centerpiece, I replaced the original cooler with a Raijintek Morpheus II and two Noctua fans. Never goes below 55c even during full load and is always silent. A much better experience compared to when the fan bearings were worn to the point of buzzing from casual mining for a few years. Despite the drama surrounding crypto this 5700XT has heated my room during the winter and put food onto the table for the past two years. Can't complain about that. The PSU I'm glad I went a little overkill initially. When I got this I had a Ryzen 5 1400 and an RX560, something that could probably be powered by a 450W unit. However now it's still got plenty of extra for further upgrades. The case is a Corsair 275Q. It's not very quiet and difficult to work in. I would have rather bought a quality test bench with this money. I need lots of hard drive space.$1,860.89 -
