Mostly new parts but bought CPU and case with fans second hand and a few things on deals or with coupons savings money. Putting it together was very easy after watching videos and reading manuals. Just need to take time and be firm but delicate with parts. As for bios settings, using Intel POR helps keep everything cool and playing games with no hassle. Fans don’t get very loud when going full blast so generally a very pleasant experience using the PC so far.$2,994.91 -

I aimed to create a versatile build suitable for both gaming and production tasks. As a Cyber Security Student, I also enjoy gaming occasionally. The build is performing excellently. However, I must mention that initially, I had two kits of 32GB TeamGroup T-Force Delta DDR5-6400, but I encountered a display issue. After extensively researching through various reviews and Reddit posts, I discovered that I could only use one of the kits. I plan to purchase a 64GB kit in the future, and if it functions properly, I'll upgrade to that configuration.$2,096.82 -

Initially, this project started out with me just wanting to recase my Omen 30L. Waltzed into MicroCenter for a new case and mobo which I got. But then everything else started coming into play since the case/mobo just wasn't enough. Foolishly I asked the BYOP team if they had any 4090s in stock and they did. They happened to have the ROG Strix 4090 I was looking for and, well, everything kinda went downhill after that. Next thing I know I'm choosing RAM, finding an optimal price for a PSU and then trying to source all the fans I wanted for the build. Whole process took a little over a month or so and lots and lots of $$$$. But, now that everything's complete and rig is working fine, I am a happy camper now.$4,694.94 -

I don't do much gaming anymore, but my old build was 2015, and I literally could not play some of the more recent games even if I wanted to. The old build was still fine for most day-to-day stuff and I wanted another build that would go the distance. So here we are. My first build was 1998, and PC components have come a long way. I wanted something that could run Cyberpunk at 2k on max settings and still get over 60 FPS. I wanted something that I could hook up a top tier VR headset to without worries. The Lian Li components are super good, but they don't have great software support. Mostly, I would say that they are first rate components with second rate software running them. It often resets, and I can't update because of their file servers (or lack thereof). The Lian Li case is superb. The strimmer lighting looks great and is customizable. The CPU cooler is where the RGB software could be better. Even with the great cable management, the back of that case is STUFFED with cables, Lian Li USB controllers, internal USB hub. The fact that I put a RAID 10 SSD array in there didn't help with space. It seems like no mater what improvements are made with cable management, I'll find a way to fill it with cables! I was going with an ASUS 4080, but it was out of stock when I went to the store, so I settled for the Zotac. It's fine, but the RGB is about 3 years behind the RDG in the rest of the box. Even though it was 1200 bucks, I won't hesitate to return it if the 4080 super comes out in time. I may replace it with a 5000 series in a couple of years. My background is scientific computing, and this PC is about on par with the number of threads and memory that was in $20K servers I was using in 2010. I really like that it's super quiet, even with 6 fans. When its running full blast, its makes half the noise that my 2015 does. I'll probably try DnD next...but then will go back to checking my email! This PC specs out in the top 1% in Passmark. But 1% is a huge number of builds. Maybe next time I go ThreadRipper and Nivida XX90!$3,655.81 -

But I also wanted the most powerful computer I could build. I do not do any gaming so the GFX card just needs to perform well for everyday tasks and occasional 3D CAD work. I also did not want water cooling as I leave my computer on 24/7 and was uncomfortable with leaving it unattended. This build far exceeded my expectations. Located around 4' from my ears, it is completely silent for 95% of what I do. For the fun of it I ran some benchmarks to see how it handles heat under stress. I set the BIOS to Intel recommended values (i.e. no overclocking/undervolting at all). To my surprise on Cinebench R23 it scored 36,981with a max core temp of 77 digress C. I am sure I could get a higher score with some tweaking (P1/P2 currently limited to 253W) but since silence is a priority, I am happy with it as is for now. Very responsive and completely quiet.$2,168.96 -

I wanted a machine that could last me more than 5 years, and I am confident that this is the one. This machine build is mainly to get me more power for video editing and production as well as photography. I am starting to explore the world of Steam tho lol. I tried to get this machine ProArt as much as I could get it. Other than the case from NXZT (which is AMAZING) and the RAM, everything in this box is ASUS. I wanted to theme the box out will gold highlight, but I really like the decision to go with white for the case. Everything else I left black and the box looks clean AF. I did add a ThermalRight contact frame to this socket, and it has changed my life!!! Highly recommended. I may have also splurged a little when it came to the AIO with the Ryujin III, but........... The Delorean from Back to the Future looks FANTASTIC on it so it's a keeper.$3,299.89 -

I am a gamer, and I focus on graphics and smooth game play, so the games I play take up a lot of room and computing power. With a game library of over 1,000 games and constantly getting more, I have to keep adding and/or replacing parts to my rig. Anything from older Command and Conquer games, Mass Effect, Starcraft; to new hits like Cyberpunk 2077, Starfield, Destiny 2, Battlefield. With this in mind I am always looking at new gear and reviews (even when not planning an upgrade) so I am able to keep up with new games while making sure I can still play the old favorites. After years of using my old z170 system, the time to upgrade to modern computing hardware was very warranted. My old system... After years of using my old z170 system, the time to upgrade to modern computing hardware was very warranted. My old system served me very well when I first built it back when I was in high school. It held its own for some time, but its age was showing and I needed something far more powerful for the ever changing software climate and what I needed for school. I am an engineering student and a majority off the applications I use for design, simulation, and computation simply do not run well on my old system. When I need to use AutoCAD, for example, I would have to use my MacBook Pro i9 just to get my sketches done. Even with gaming, when I have the time for it, some newer titles barely ran at decent frame rates to be enjoyable, and was mostly stuck playing games that I played years ago. However, with this baby, everything I throw at it can handle it. I knew going into this project the only thing I wanted to keep from the original PC was the case. The Lian Li PC-05s, in my opinion, is uncontested for being on of the most standout and fashionable cases ever produced. However, puting an i9-13900k and an RTX 3090 in this case I was concerned about thermals because I was basically putting two microwaves in a mini itx case. It was no question that I needed to watercool the entire system, but to go about that was very frustrating and difficult. To begin, my old system used an old Swiftech pump/reservoir/radiator combo that fit perfectly in the limited clearance of the case. The problem was that this all-in-one radiator had a cracked reservoir and the thing was far out of its warranty period to replace; plus they completely stopped production on these lines of radiators. My search for the allusive all-in-one radiator led me to the Granzon radiator-pump combo. A brand I never herd of, but I had no choice because there is apparently a very limited selection of radiator-pump combo unites on the market. Pretty much after I discovered the radiator-pump unit, the rest of the build basically fell into place. I found the best looking, all black, components on the market, filled this system up with tons of storage and memory, and slapped them all together to get what I can say a pretty awesome looking PC that I am very proud of.$4,582.51 -

The Maximus z790 HERO, Ryujin II, and Lian Li infinity fans were chosen for their looks. Noctua A14 fans were carried over from the previous build, I don't see them so they're not getting replaced with Lian Li fans. The Strix 4090 is very nice, I got an open box from Microcenter. No complaints! Tackles any game with high frames at the moment. There was a G.Skill Trident RGB ram kit initially, but it seems the motherboard didn't like the kit in XMP and would spit out error code 55 whenever I rebooted the system. The corsair kit works perfectly. I had issues with the RGB on the G.Skill kit as well where it would not sync with the motherboard, so I opted to go with no RGB on the current kit. I did double check my contact frame on the CPU, that did not seem to be an issue for the error code. The SATA SSDs are from previous builds over the years, if anything were to be upgraded, these would be swapped out for NVME drives. They're used for older games at the moment, with newer releases being installed on the NVME OS drive. The Evolv X looks great and is carried over from a past build. Cable management was a bit difficult with the 2 different hubs needed for the Lian Li fans and the Ryujin II cooler. I'd choose a different case with a bit more space for cable management and better airflow in the future. The ROG Thor P2 1200w is overkill and the last power supply I plan to buy. It is a bit long for the Evolv X's PSU cut out, with the RGB being cut off. Both hard drive cages are removed in the bottom to accommodate for the PSU length and cable slack.$5,121.45 -

Built my first PC for my self 3-4 years ago and always had a picture of my dream computer in the back of my head but thought it would not be possible due to a lot of the parts being limited edition and just not knowing where to find the parts but when helping my friend find parts for his computer I found the first piece of the puzzle and it started to look like my dream will come true. After almost a year of getting parts and a week or two of trail and error I was finally able to get the computer to work the way I needed it too. The computer is on its own desk right now due to the size still working that one out$4,834.93 -

I build this system so I could stream and game at the same time, rather than run two pc's at once. I usually stream a selection of games and whatever is currently popular I will make content on. I upgraded to a msi suprim liquid x 4090 and i9 13900k. The pc is rocking a msi edge wifi z690 mobo , 32 gigs ddr4 corsair vengeance pro ram , msi 1000 watt psu, artic freezer II 420 mm rgb aio and 2 sets of lian li fans. When I got the 420 mm aio I didn't account for the thickness and how big it is. So as you can tell the case had to be cut and modified a little, since I spent all of my budget on the cpu , aio and gpu. Overall it looks amazing, this pc has come a long way! I will eventually have to upgrade my chair from a bad 100 dollar "gaming chair" to a more comfortable one.$3,207.91 -

Upon needing a whole new rig I decided to give a shot at building it myself. Disappointed with the mid-range offerings of the Nvidia 4000 series, I decided to go big and get an RTX 4090. From there, I picked a core i9-13900K to match - which introduced the need for an AIO cooling solution. This system was built with practical gaming performance as the top priority, but with the black 5000D Airflow case and a few unavoidable RGB accents I think it looks beautiful as well.$3,727.88 -

Things I would do different, I would have checked the mother board specs closer. I put a Gen 4, M.2 SSD in and it can take a Gen 5. Other than that, everything else is good. I love that Armoury Crate is able to sync so well with iCue (or Asus parts I guess with Corsair's software). I love the performance from having a 13900k and 64gb of DDR5 ram with a 4090. It can run anything at 4k gaming and even max frames at 1440p.$4,067.92 -
