The point of this PC was to be a huge focus on value, not spending any money on anything unnecessary but still looking clean and with some RGB. Performance is great at 1080p and even 1440p as the RTX 3060 is still a great card for most games. The white Powerspec power supply with white cable sleeves really completes this PC as only the GPU and motherboard stand out as not matching the colour scheme.$675.93 -

I was overdue for a graphics card upgrade (had previously been using an nvidia gtx 1060 6gb card). Actually, make that overdue for an everything upgrade. I finally decided that the time was now because the 4070 super at around $600 according to the reviews delivers exactly the kind of 1440p resolution gaming performance that I have been looking for. I mainly play looter shooter games like the Borderlands series and the other borderlands spinoffs.$580.93 -

I did it by myself with tons of research and am thrilled at how it came out. It took about a couple months to get it to where I'm happy to show it off, but I love the results. Wanted to build a computer that could handle content creation and video production easily while also allowing me to game at 1440p effortlessly. I'd say the goal was accomplished, though I intend to upgrade the graphics card and possibly the CPU at some point within the next year.$2,384.97 -

This was my first DIY build, and I went for a relatively middle of the road spec that's fairly well rounded and not... This was my first DIY build, and I went for a relatively middle of the road spec that's fairly well rounded and not optimized for any particular thing. CPU, RAM, and mobo were from a Micro Center bundle, while the other components were sourced wherever there were deals to be had. The only thing that is missing is a GPU, although the iGPU inside the 7700X has been sufficient in the meantime. The CPU undervolts easily, which allows it to draw only 65W compared to 144W previously and never getting hotter than 70C while only losing 10% performance. Meanwhile the iGPU overclocks pretty well, and was easily stable with a 500Mhz boost. The RAM ran on EXPO settings without any issues. I had originally planned for a 7900XTX and specced an 850W PSU, but my current plan now is to go with a lower end 7800XT or 4070 which has made the 850W a little overkill. In addition to a GPU, cooling will be upgraded with three more case fans, although for the current heat load the two fans are more than enough. The hard drive cage was removed to increase airflow for the expected 7900XTX, so the build uses SSDs only. Even with the change in plans, I'm not going to put the cage back in because it would involve unplugging and replugging the PSU, which is a bit of a pain to do. The room tends to be pretty dusty, and I have added a secondary filter to the front intake along with the built in filter from the case. One downside with this build is that the mobo's PCIe slot is one down, so it utilizes the second slot. However, the case only has room for four slots total, and therefore it limits the GPU to sub triple slot widths only. Coupled with the relatively short spacing available for length (306mm with front fan, 313mm with slim fan, 331mm without), it makes finding a suitably fitting GPU somewhat difficult with how big they have gotten. The front panel cable is also just long enough, but it's under a bit of tension so another inch would have helped greatly.$762.99 -

Before installing everything, updated to latest BIOS which adds AM5 AGESA 1.0.0.7b support, and so far system has been stable with RAM running @ 6000 MHz using the AMD EXPO profile. Only issue found is slow boot to POST (more than two minutes) when video output is from MB HDMI, but when display is connected to GPU, boot times are fast. AIO cooler is overkill for this CPU but I really like the aesthetics of it, and plan to add later the LCD display upgrade to the pump.$1,654.92 -

It was time for me to update or "rebuild" the desktop pc I have been using as a workstation in my home-based small business. The goal of this build was to have a gaming platform that can handle most games at 4k/60fps and will maintain its edge for a long time (3-4 years) with only future GPU upgrades. I think this build is perfect for that. It can handle all games currently out in the market with ease. This build should last a couple of years before becoming completely outdated. With only GPU upgrades, it can keep up because graphic intensive game rely mostly on GPUs and usually not much from CPUs. Wasn’t 100% sure that I’d want to make a switch from console gaming so I did settle for the much maligned 6500 XT to avoid spending a fortune on a higher tier or used GPU that I might not end up using as much. I’m using this for normal tasks and light gaming. The 6500 XT works well enough for Overwatch and Fortnite but struggles when you notch up graphics quality to the highest tier. I don’t recommend the card unless it’s in your price range and you have reasonable expectations. The M.2 ran a bit warm under heavy data transfers even with the MSI Frozr heatsink that came with the mobo. The ineo heatsink actually works which was a bit of a surprise. Barely fits in between the stock Wraith CPU cooler and the GPU. If you want to use the fan, know that it’s loud and better set to come on when the GPU and/or CPU gets warmer. The stock Wraith cooler works for me and 5600x has only been on the warmer side a few times under heavy load. Stress testing does cause it to run hot so a better cooler is needed if you’re really pushing the 5600x. I haven’t been able to get the Corsair RGB RAM to sync with MSI Mystic even though it’s supposedly compatible. I can use Corsair’s software to control it but it’s buggy if Mystic is being used. I have mixed feelings about the Starryfort case. If you want basic RGB and fans it can be a good budget tower if it’s priced correctly. I wouldn’t buy it for higher performance builds. The front airflow isn’t great (intake design issue) and the wiring does feel a little cheap. It has a board for all the RGB plugs in the back and only takes up one RGB slot on the mobo. Be mindful it’s only 3 pin RGB for the case. Fans are all molex, too. It works with Mystic but it’s not that impressive. The case button for the lighting presets is the way to go. There’s only one removable PCI slot for the GPU. The rest are punch outs which really fried me. There’s also a spot in the front that would be perfect for USB-C but is plugged. The mobo is pretty nice and came with a sticker stating it was Ryzen 5 series ready. No issues on first start up. The Wi-Fi antennas are kind of finicky and ill placed. Wi-Fi signal reception seems weak as well.$1,191.92 -

Upgrading from a 4650k, I've been on the fence for a new AMD PC build for a few years now, ever since the 3600X. Unfortunately, the 3600X did not come with an IGP. The 4XXX series were not available for enthusiast or DIY purchase, and so, here we are in 2022, when the 5600g was finally available and prices are reasonable. This build is a good balance between performance and price. Getting the most performance out of each dollar spent, without cutting corners on quality where it matters. It's not the most flashy build, nor the fastest, but it is solid and will be running years into the future. The only major thing that's missing is the graphics card. I will add it when prices come back down to earth. In the meantime, this build will run just fine without one.$705.96 -

I built this rig because I was using a laptop with a GTX 970M as my main machine and it was really starting to show its age in games and general use. I play a lot of Forza on this rig now and just started RDR2 and I have been extremely satisfied with its performance. I also use the computer for my school work as I am a college student, and I really enjoy photography and photo/video editing as well (hence the hard drives for extra space).$1,809.90 -

I built this PC mainly or 3D rendering with some gaming and coding on the side. I wanted a subtle look as I will mainly use this PC for work purposes but still have some pop to it, so I decided to go the no RGB route and let the main star of the show the RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition, do all the talking with it's minimal, white glowing logo - nothing to distract and clash with the working environment.$2,344.95 -

Assembled back in late 2020, and will continue to upgrade/change until I can't anymore. I use this build for messing around in Adobe suite (AE/PS/Premiere-- nothing public, sorry!) and gaming whenever I have the time. Admittedly a 3700x and 3060ti may have been a little overkill for the games I actually play (2D platformers, Apex, Minecraft?), but it does mean that at the very least I can run anything I want on ultra. If done again, I'd be tempted to get everything into a smaller form factor, but hey, ATX gave me space to throw in a bunch of RGB bling.$1,419.96 -

It had no issue with Autocad or the games I played. I played Genshin Impact, Halo Master Chief Collection, Rocket League, Mordhau, Skyrim, and Dont Starve Together. I was looking into a future upgrade of the GTX 3060 once the pandemic pricing settles down. I would wait for a case that came with case fans (3 or more) and use either a small ATX size or continue with a microATX. I would also get magnetic dust filters and get a better power supply from the LTT tier list.$864.96
