The purpose of this build is to optimize performance for VR gaming such as having excess VRAM for Oculus Link and Virtual Desktop Streaming for wireless PC VR gaming. I have intentionally cheaped out on all other components, so upgrade each component as best fits your needs. It's running games like apex, valorant, csgo, rust, and much more with more frames at higher resolutions and higher quality of games. It's a great budget build however there is always room for improvement. That is what I like so much about my pc. It allows me room to breathe and also allowed me to have much more fun with friends than before.$918.91 -

This build was 100% motivated by a random impulse purchase at my local Microcenter. I noticed that the newest gen from Intel (13th gen) now had an i3 quad core (4 cores, 8 threads) available and the price at Microcenter was only $99. I decided to grab it and see how much it would bottleneck an older RX 5600 XT that I had going unused. Turns out, the answer is "not at all!"$593.93 -

I posted my previous build before saying I would upgrade some parts, but I went ahead and replaced mostly everything. I went from a Ryzen 5 3600 to and Intel 17-12700k. This processor is freaking nuts. Micro had a bundle sale on it with a Z690 Tuf motherboard and ram. Continuing on, I went from an UpHere air cooler to the Lian Ali Galahad. This aio works wonders with this cpu, 75 degrees and high loads, 30 resting. I also went from 6600xt to a 6750xt. For 100 dollars more, it's worth every cent. It just performs so well with games in general. I average 124fps on high settings with 2k res on Hogwarts. I added 16gigs of more Ram for multitasking purposes, it also looks better with all four films filled up. Lastly, I added a mini monitor for temps and whatnot. I generally got it cause it looks cool. It does have high res tho!$1,598.88 -

I use it for school and gaming. I play Fortnite at around 200 fps on medium settings and Valorant at around 300-500 fps on medium-high settings. I will probably be upgrading the gpu later on and adding some rgb but for now, I love the build. Also the power supply is a 600w not 500w but it isn't on the list.$543.92 -

However, as we all naturally do, I wanted to upgrade it the more I go. I recently purchased the Radeon 6650xt (upgrading from a 1060) so I could run newer games at higher resolutions while getting stable frames. I run games like COD, Smite, Fortnite, etc. Mainly got the graphics card to run Hogwarts though. :) I started from a budget case, Montech X1, to the Lian Li O11 Air Mini (amazing case), and now the Thermaltake P3. I also upgraded a few other things like my PSU (from 500w to 750w), RAM (from 3200 to 3600), and the stock cooler to an UpHere one (it actually cools pretty decently, it allowed me to overclock to 4.15 from 3.6). I am planning on upgrading the CPU and Motherboard.$894.88 -

A complete beast of a PC that I have spent 1.3k on- The Pros: - Runs fast and has DLSS 2.0 Compatibility - Quiet, barely makes a sound - Has easily swapable parts that help with upgrades and the like. The Cons: - Silicon is Expensive :D - No Heatsink on I/O for MoBo, and only one heatsink for 2nd NVME Slot (No surprise there) - Will have to upgrade in 5 years or so What is it used for? - Content Creation, more specifically 1080p Video Editing and the like - Gaming, and lots of it thanks to the graphics it can pull off - Just messing around and whatever I need it to do. The Core i5 pulls it's weight by the ton, I've never used something this fast before. Advice- I actually got my Monitor from Costco, it's only 199.99 and runs like a dream. Also, be careful with the case screws, if you don't get them right the first time putting in your GPU will be a nightmare. Also, for GPUs, if you intend on getting an EVGA brand one look for their B-stock, it often eliminates anywhere from 30-100 dollars off their cards ;) Overall, happy with my first build and would 10/10 Recommend$1,041.91 -

Been cozy with console since the Atari, but over the decades, I have amassed a LOT of physical game media. From consoles, to cartridges, to disks, to peripherals. I went mostly digital for the Xbox one and PS4, but even then I got tired of gathering consoles. So when it was time to choose between the Xbox Series X or PS5, I decided to break away from consoles and build my PC. I focus on rich cinematic gaming. I mostly play single player Action, Adventure, and RPG. Some recent games are Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Control, DayZ Gone, Metro Exodus, Dying Light 2, and Ghostwire Tokyo.$3,325.95 -
