This is a general purpose computer that can handle light gaming at 1440p. It started life as a pre-built CyberPowerPC that I bought in late 2017. I reused the case, motherboard, PSU, and CPU cooler (that I had previously upgraded) and got new graphics card, SSD, CPU and RAM.$600.03 -

This build is to play some choice AAA titles at 4K by leaning heavily on adaptive frame rates and turning down any graphics settings that matter less on high-dpi displays than they would at 1080p. Loads of RAM and NVME storage will make a fine server if pcie5 platforms keep maturing faster than raytracing GPUs do.$1,584.91 -

Yeah the new hardware promises to beat the pants off it but l'll wait at least 6 months - probably a year - for prices to deflate a bit before I think about replacing it.$1,764.91 -

My main goal with Redshift was converting the processor and graphics card to AMD and this build accomplishes that. In the previous build, I mentioned that Redshift was the only desktop computer in the household, but not anymore. As for Redshift, that computer still has the same components from the last time that I updated it and has become a computer that my sister uses often. Thanks to the Inland 7 Port USB 3.1 Gen 1 Hub, I am able to turn on or off the Inland iK100 USB 107-Key Keyboard, webcam, and Inland USB Optical Mouse.$2,816.70 -

If I must describe this build, I must say its been my very first pc handbuilt. The pc case has been with me since my college days and I've come to upgrade it several times. Its a gaming rig built to play some simple games, mmos and adventure games. Everything I've been upgrading has been but the thought: what could I upgrade or add to this build I've swapped out the innards once already and swapped out the gpus 2 times. Made the move from hdds to ssds Witnessed the of Intel, AMD and NVidia Honestly enough most of my parts are left overs from each generation of upgrades that I can't even find my pc case and my old hard drives /ssds Added 2 monitor mounts which made it look like a cockpit of a mech . I even shucked a 12 TB external hard drive as well and still have a cd drive Added 3 monitors for each generation of display. 720p to 2k and from 60hz to 165hz too And even decided to screw around with a projector too. (sadly I went too cheap with the projector I guess) The thrill of this mess and what each upgrade allowed me was no doubt a long journey of glee and Micro center indulged all my needs. The next thing I must upgrade is a new pc case... cuz its falling a bit apart.$1,271.95 -

I've been playing on a 10 year PC with a RX 290 on a 60 Hz monitor with dead pixels, so this is a huge upgrade for gaming experience. I am also planning on helping a friend put together a podcast, so some light media processing. In addition, I will continue to do programming and signal processing work, now much faster and easier.$893.93 -
