I play league of legends, GTA V, and some roblox on it. Over the years I've slowly added more storage to it but thats about it. The original goal was to play Counter-Strike, and now I play all kinds of games ranging from Valorant, Overwatch, Witcher, Red Dead, R6, etc. Something I would have done different in hindsight is getting a stronger processor, as even though I game at 1440p, a stronger processer with more cores would have been better for streaming and school work.$1,147.94 -

This PC was put together around the Intel i5 12600kf and Intel Arc A770 Bundle from Microcenter. The total cost for this PC was super impressive given the performance it was putting out. I am able to play demanding games like Flight simulator with stable performance using DX12. I posted some synthetic benchmark scores in the images for reference if anyone is considering getting the A770. If most of the games you play are newer DX12 titles then the A770 is legit. The Powerspec PSU and Teamgroup RAM were also great deals that really completed this build. It will be used for gaming as well as a general purpose workstation PC with its 10 core i5.$890.94 -

Instead of spending around $1000 on a new laptop, I thought I would build a PC for around the same price instead. Right now, I only have a couple games installed, which are Prey and Need for Speed Unbound. Prey is a well optimized game, but it runs on dx11, and arc was known for having issues with non dx12 titles when it came out. I know Intel has gone back and improved drivers for certain dx11 games, but when playing Prey at max settings at 2560x1440p, there would be times where my framerate would drop from 144 fps to around 70 fps. The GPU usage would drop to around 30% To solve this, I ended up using dxvk to make the game run on vulkan. Now it stays at 144 fps all the time, with some shader compilation stutters. Using dxvk in dx11 and dx9 titles to make the game run in vulkan has a good chance of boosting performance with arc cards. To use dxvk, you just need to paste at most two folders into the game's exe directory. There are videos on YouTube that show how to do this. The only downside is that you can't do this in online games that use anti cheat. With need for speed, the game ran well out of the box. Playing at 1440p, I get around 70-85fps at max settings with xess quality. If I disable upscaling, I can reach the same framerate with textures at ultra and the rest of the settings set to a mix of mostly high and some medium. After setting a gpu fan curve, the hottest I've seen the GPU get is 64 Celsius, with vram hovering around 62 Celsius in a superposition benchmark. In terms of the ryzen 7700x, I was able to set a pbo curve of -35 on all cores, and I didn't crash after running prime95 for 20 minutes. I'll have to run core cycler and see if it is truly stable, although I haven't crashed in any games yet. Because of this, it runs extremely cool. At most, I've seen it hit 55 Celsius and pull 75w when gaming. In the prime95 benchmark, it pulled somewhere around 120ish watts and hit a max temp of somewhere around 86 Celsius. According to hwmonitor, the hotspot was also around that same temperature.$964.99 -

My consulting business requires some power and my laptop was aging far too rapidly. I also downloaded Baldurs Gate 3 and when it kept crashing that was the final straw, I decided to build my own showcase instead of just building them for other people. With a budget of only $800 I built the most powerful build I could and it takes everything i've thrown at it and then some. I'd like to upgrade the processor as soon as possible and potentially take advantage of DDR5 rather than the current DDR4$892.92 -

I built this specifically to handle all video editing and gaming, as well as to have a PC that measured up to my mechanical keyboard and peripherals obsession. I play primarily single player RPGs, and also have to create a good amount of video content for work. I needed something that could handle relatively serious gaming applications as well as the most demanding scenarios Adobe has to offer, and this has been up to the task in absolutely every area. I've also recently discovered the joy that is Moonlight streaming on a hacked Switch, so now I'm able to play PC games on the go without having to purchase a Steam Deck. Next up is modifying my 3D Printer so that I'm able to stop/start/pause/monitor prints both from my PC and on the go. I continue to find new use cases for every hobby I take up, and generally the common thread is needing an adequately powerful PC to run everything. This thing overperforms every single time.$1,399.92 -

I use it mainly for school work and some occasional gaming (Valorant, Minecraft, the likes). I feel like overall I did a good job, as I did a lot of price hunting and got my GPU eBay, the rest from Microcenter with their insane deals. One thing I would have changed if I knew about this earlier was to get a better motherboard - the B450M is good but I ran into a lot of problems for some reason, maybe it was me? This build cost me around $450 - yes, you may have seen the price above, but it did cost me around $450 because of some coupons I used, the GPU came from eBay, and lots of deals Microcenter had at the time I made this a month back. Whatever the case, overall I loved this project.$635.93 -

I had a intel i5 10500 + GTX1080 TI build 3 years ago. I gave the old PC to my younger brother, so he won't bother me no more for computer access. I am going to college soon, so I wanted a smaller PC to be able to move easily and won't take much space as I will be living in shared dorm my first year, so I went with this Mini-ITX case. I had concern about the air flow and temperature of the components when under load because this is a such small case, but it was all good. The CPU runs at ~40C idle and ~70C under load, GPU runs at ~30C idle and ~60C under load with 100% core voltage and maxed power and temp slider in msi afterburner.$2,129.95 -
