Mostly new parts but bought CPU and case with fans second hand and a few things on deals or with coupons savings money. Putting it together was very easy after watching videos and reading manuals. Just need to take time and be firm but delicate with parts. As for bios settings, using Intel POR helps keep everything cool and playing games with no hassle. Fans don’t get very loud when going full blast so generally a very pleasant experience using the PC so far.$2,994.91 -

I aimed to create a versatile build suitable for both gaming and production tasks. As a Cyber Security Student, I also enjoy gaming occasionally. The build is performing excellently. However, I must mention that initially, I had two kits of 32GB TeamGroup T-Force Delta DDR5-6400, but I encountered a display issue. After extensively researching through various reviews and Reddit posts, I discovered that I could only use one of the kits. I plan to purchase a 64GB kit in the future, and if it functions properly, I'll upgrade to that configuration.$2,096.82 -

I went overboard on this build because I wanted something that I could play at high fps at maxed settings, it to look visually appealing, and to last me a long time before having to truly upgrade. New gaming rig ment to be able to handle high-ultra settings for games such as Elden Ring, Apex Legends, and Skull and Bones. This setup is ment to create fast boot and load times, currently taking 5-7 seconds to boot into the windows desktop from off state. i9 14 gen to stay last for a long period of time before needing to upgrade. This includes the cpu liquid cooler. DDR5 RAM 5600Mhz for the newest generation that will last a long period of time, and my last past the next cpu upgrade. RTX 4070 Super to handle the majority of games at max settings at 1440p resolution. Currently no stutter or lag experience. GPU using the new power pin connection with the power supply. Future plan consists of 1-2 year from now, which includes doubling up on same RAM capacity and moving from rtx 4070 Super to 5070 Super. This system cost less then a pre-built machine with less specs by $600. The Lian Li tower case is quite large and spacious with multiple fans that keep the system nice and cool during runtimes.$2,069.92 -

Initially, this project started out with me just wanting to recase my Omen 30L. Waltzed into MicroCenter for a new case and mobo which I got. But then everything else started coming into play since the case/mobo just wasn't enough. Foolishly I asked the BYOP team if they had any 4090s in stock and they did. They happened to have the ROG Strix 4090 I was looking for and, well, everything kinda went downhill after that. Next thing I know I'm choosing RAM, finding an optimal price for a PSU and then trying to source all the fans I wanted for the build. Whole process took a little over a month or so and lots and lots of $$$$. But, now that everything's complete and rig is working fine, I am a happy camper now.$4,694.94 -

I don't do much gaming anymore, but my old build was 2015, and I literally could not play some of the more recent games even if I wanted to. The old build was still fine for most day-to-day stuff and I wanted another build that would go the distance. So here we are. My first build was 1998, and PC components have come a long way. I wanted something that could run Cyberpunk at 2k on max settings and still get over 60 FPS. I wanted something that I could hook up a top tier VR headset to without worries. The Lian Li components are super good, but they don't have great software support. Mostly, I would say that they are first rate components with second rate software running them. It often resets, and I can't update because of their file servers (or lack thereof). The Lian Li case is superb. The strimmer lighting looks great and is customizable. The CPU cooler is where the RGB software could be better. Even with the great cable management, the back of that case is STUFFED with cables, Lian Li USB controllers, internal USB hub. The fact that I put a RAID 10 SSD array in there didn't help with space. It seems like no mater what improvements are made with cable management, I'll find a way to fill it with cables! I was going with an ASUS 4080, but it was out of stock when I went to the store, so I settled for the Zotac. It's fine, but the RGB is about 3 years behind the RDG in the rest of the box. Even though it was 1200 bucks, I won't hesitate to return it if the 4080 super comes out in time. I may replace it with a 5000 series in a couple of years. My background is scientific computing, and this PC is about on par with the number of threads and memory that was in $20K servers I was using in 2010. I really like that it's super quiet, even with 6 fans. When its running full blast, its makes half the noise that my 2015 does. I'll probably try DnD next...but then will go back to checking my email! This PC specs out in the top 1% in Passmark. But 1% is a huge number of builds. Maybe next time I go ThreadRipper and Nivida XX90!$3,655.81 -
