Built this AMD 8700G PC for coding and running programs that I need for my mad science lab, but looks like it will be my wife's PC instead. She will use it for general PC activities including some casual 1080p gaming (Secret World Legends, Entropia, and others that I don't know the names of). A few years from now, if her old Nvidia/Intel based gaming PC breaks down then I may overclock this one and/or add a video card, or maybe even drop in a new CPU. Am using the heat sink that came with the 8700G CPU, and during a bit of gaming the temp never got above 32 degrees C so I won't be upgrading to water cooling. It has very low power use and it is whisper quiet.$1,335.90 -

Mostly new parts but bought CPU and case with fans second hand and a few things on deals or with coupons savings money. Putting it together was very easy after watching videos and reading manuals. Just need to take time and be firm but delicate with parts. As for bios settings, using Intel POR helps keep everything cool and playing games with no hassle. Fans don’t get very loud when going full blast so generally a very pleasant experience using the PC so far.$2,994.91 -

Its a basic build I built around 1080p gaming and the 3080 Ti, whichwas a great all around performing GPU that I was able to pick up off one of my local marketplace from a private buyer. I then bought the MB/CPU/RAM/PSU combo off a friend who had upgraded to a newer platform. Since I didn't need anything new and this fit what I needed it for, I also found a H5 Elite case from a private seller on my local marketplace as well and came with a Corsair RM750. Was able to repurpose some SSD I had laying around and all these together to make a complete working PC. I've been playing FO76 mainly and some FFXIV here and there. But mainly this computer is mainly used for YouTube and catching up on web browsing when not working.$1,135.00 -

I aimed to create a versatile build suitable for both gaming and production tasks. As a Cyber Security Student, I also enjoy gaming occasionally. The build is performing excellently. However, I must mention that initially, I had two kits of 32GB TeamGroup T-Force Delta DDR5-6400, but I encountered a display issue. After extensively researching through various reviews and Reddit posts, I discovered that I could only use one of the kits. I plan to purchase a 64GB kit in the future, and if it functions properly, I'll upgrade to that configuration.$2,096.82 -

I built this computer because for 3 years, I have been limited to playing games such as Fortnite and Minecraft on my old pc, which had an AMD Ryzen 3, Integrated graphics, and I would always have to turn down my game settings to the very lowest possible just to squeeze out 30fps. It was difficult doing even schoolwork on this computer, and one day after having to pay $300 dollars just to get an issue fixed, I decided that I was going to start saving up for a computer which would be much better than the one I currently had. I saved up all the money I could, and after almost a year of waiting I finally built it. With this new setup, I plan to play games I could have never played before, such as Rainbow Six Seige, Starfield, and more which I will discover. If I could go back, I would switch to an NZXT H6 Flow as opposed the H9, due to its similar look and the RGB version being cheaper than the H9 and coming with RGB fans. I would also switch the motherboard, since this current one only has one ARGB header, making me have to daisy chain 11 argb devices into one header. In future upgrades I plan to add some Lian-Li strimers, as they will look much better than the stock cables I have right now.$1,427.88 -

This time around I decided to go AMD instead of my usual Intel/Nvidia build. My first desktop PC was an insanely overpriced Alienware prebuilt (please don't crucify me, I was 12) that I got when I was in middle school. It was extremely heavy, had terrible airflow, and generally gave me a whole heap of issues during the like 7.5 years that I had it. Even though it was clunky, I'll always love my GTX 1070 for lasting so long and giving me many unforgettable gaming memories, from the Halo series, to Metro, to Resident Evil. Needless to say, I was long overdue for an upgrade, and with working part-time in college I was able to finally build my first PC and it was a blast. I used to primarily play older games like around 2012 to before, always at 1080p 60hz max. For this build I wanted to make the jump to 2K or 1440p and shoot for a higher refresh rate at at least the 144hz mark. I also wanted water cooling and plenty of fans that I could control to optimize airflow, without having rainbow vomit RBG everywhere (although I see and respect everyone's colorful builds). I've been wanting to build my own PC for years, but after buying the Dead Space remake on steam and having it be borderline unplayable on the lowest settings, I knew it was time for an upgrade. I've stress tested my build with Dead Space, RDR2, GTA V, Metro Exodus, No Man's Sky, and even some Half Life Alyx and couldn't be happier with my target performance. Having started with a 500GB HDD in middle school and eventually maturing into a digital hoarder, I was super happy knowing I could take advantage of my MOBOs 3 M.2 SSD slots, and the added SSD and HDD bracket hidden in the back of my case. Microcenter's bundles made building my PC a breeze, and the only thing I did have trouble on was my GPU. I know there's a lot of discourse regarding Nvidia's 4000 series and their VRAM, but with the market stabilizing a bit after everything, I felt glad at the end of the day with my choice. Performance wise I couldn't be happier. Super fast bootup and processing times, access to DLSS and ray tracing, and an insane boost in quality and frames compared to my old 1070 make using this PC night and day. I picked up a 1440p 165Hz LG UltraGear monitor and WOW; for the price I spent (which was way less than I spent on my prebuilt back then) the performance was great. I feel set for the foreseeable future, besides replacing my AIO in 5 years or inevitably buying more storage and drives. Besides that, there's not much else. The case and build went really smoothly, and I did get confused at some parts but I worked it out (such as forgetting to remove the plastic sticker on my CPU cooler...or not removing the grate my AIO radiator attached to for easier screwing). Overall I'm very happy, and using an unlocked "k" intel CPU finally let's me enable XMP and get the most out of my RAM (6000MHz!).$1,264.94 -

Recently, my old system with an Intel i7-4790k and a GTX 1070ti broke down. I tried for 2 days but could not get it to boot pass window start up loading screen. It's because of that and how outdated it is of a system, I decided to upgrade to a new system. I mostly just doing some lite web browsing as well as doing spreadsheet and video calling. I used to game but since my PC couldn't keep up with the new games as well as life gotten busier I stopped gaming. However, with this new machine of a beast. Every game that I tested now can do well above 100fps with games that goes to the 200fps. So hopefully I can dive back into gaming soon. I went with and Ryzen 7 5800x and ROG Strix B550 motherboard as well as an Radeon RX 7800 XT with the NZXT H6 Flow housing. I know this doesn't have much of an upgrade ability beside from going to the 5800x3d and possibly better GPU however because I want an all-white esthetic and AM4 is the cheapest to go for it.$1,499.92 -

My first ever PC build, where I wanted to make absolutely no compromises on airflow, as I've had bad experiences in the past from premade systems. I was very pleased to find out I had no trouble getting the PC to work. The case was great to build in, and the video helped a ton in feeling secure as a newbie. I did have to replace the originally included side fans (non-RGB) out of necessity, because they made an uncomfortable humming sound, and also weren't PWM, which did not allow me the control that I wanted. Also, I didn't know originally, how much LEDs actually enhance the beauty of a build, if you don't use red, green or rainbow colors.$1,714.73 -

I used to just buy pre-built PCs before and ever since my previous one died, I've decided to have a go. Was surprised how relatively easy it was. Granted, however, that I've invested quite some hours into youtube and reddit studying the topic lol. Happy how it turned out, the next step will be to buy a vertical GPU mount and to wait until my NZXT hub arrives, so I can connect the Streamer Lian Li cables. I originally got into computers and electronics as a kid and was always finding ways to play pc games whether it be at the library or on my moms laptop. I eventually got a mini steam machine for Christmas when I was younger and always wanted to build my own. As I got older I saved up the money bought some parts and asked micro center to build it for me because I was afraid of messing it up. Later down the line I said screw it kept buying upgrades and messing with it myself. I've learned so much from it and have built 5 PC's for family/friends. I would have loved to go to school for computers but could never find the right program to suit me. No matter what this PC was built off of a dream of maybe one day being a streamer, making content on Youtube or developing something huge. I have switched from console to pc for the past 4 years and love it. I play console here and there only for exclusives and next gen sports titles. I have streamed here and there and played favorite games with friends my twitch is JAO3M. I love to play single player games like Resident Evil, Batman Arkham, etc. Also multiplayer games like COD, Rainbow, Fortnite, MK, etc. This has been an awesome experience for me and I hope to experience more in the future. Future upgrades coming are i9-13900k CPU, MSI - MPG Z790 EDGE WIFI Motherboard, CORSAIR - VENGEANCE 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz DDR5 C36 RAM, and ASUS TUF Gaming NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 4070 Ti OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card just waiting on a bracket cooler. For a living I edit videos, usually they are 1080p short-form, but even then, my projects can get so "complicated" or dense that even my old intel core i7 6850k would struggle to play it back. I really loved this CPU and platform, but it was time to get something modern. Intel 14th gen had released and I preordered the 14700k, and I went with intel because of the Quicksync h264/h265 hardware acceleration, otherwise I would've went with AMD. I'm really happy with my build. It does everything I need it to very well, and it didn't cost me that much for what I have. The only upgrade I can see myself doing in the next year is a GPU, RAM, or storage upgrade. I still have the old parts from my old build, which I'll probably turn it into a storage server and video encoding machine, so I can edit all my videos and have exports in progress without hindering timeline performance$1,255.93 -

My last rig must had gotten damaged pins on the mobo. Either way it motivated and scared me into not only getting another rig but making one with thermals as the top priority. Now I wish I had more money at the time for a beefier mobo when I had bought this but the combo is beautiful. Works better than expected. I call this build babyboy because building it woke me up even more. It was the the last push to my evolution as a dweeb. My goals become easier to follow. Building motivated me into building more. To not feel like going in my pc is daunting. It took a depressed and nearly checked out of life veteran and turned him into the kid that didn't worry about the worst life has to throw at them. Sorry anyway. Baby boy has made me dig deeper into my studying as I want to make my own Aio for a pc and even delve into engineering because I love the void that creation brings. It robs me of negative focus and gives me back passion. My PC's were always powerful and the trend continues. I am getting familiar with 3d software, mainly unreal. Working on a hard scifi novel that I might just pass to my friend to make into a video game. He loved the idea he will be graduating for programming soon. My gift to him is going to be a high powered machine. For all of his programing needs a rig on par or better than anything i can own. The things I love for the people I love. Babyboy Harkens me back to a time where I was a dorky a** black kid growing up in harlem getting bullied for "acting white" 😪 , up into my time in the infantry and even beyond where constantly get targeted for the same thing by more so the opposite of my childhood bully types. (Sorry for being vague). As you can maybe tell I think way too much. I spend alot of time in chatrooms not because I like them anymore. It's because I can generate heat better than Dominick Mysterio when I'm online. I have a Army of people who hate me on the internet and it's honestly how I get better now n days. I constantly have people discouraging me, trying to drag me down, dehumanize me, feels like the military but with folks I can't punch in the face. That oddly enough has been my source of fuel. People telling. Me I'm worthless and can't. LOL For me it's the best fuel ever. Over the course of two years my aptitude for math, science, has skyrocketed, I have built a reputation in some of the most toxic circles you can find online as a guy you should hate for no good reason at all. I love it. Computers have alot to do with this. This was what I thought about while doing my build. You get where I'm going? This experience was therapeutic for me and eye opening into who I am as a human. Babyboy helped freed a chained man. In a sense by giving me even more confidence to tackle things. For a build that was suppose to replace my i9 9900k rig. It did more than that. It set up another stage of metamorphosis. The recluse in me let's a bit too much out at times : [ sorry. As for the build. It was meant for general use. But if you seen my setup you would maybe understand i use it for much more, such as development. C++ and python coding, btw my first ever code written was program that identified your compiler written in c++, my second was a gpt 2 based learning model (in python)that same night. Now I didnt have AI help me with the second code, but still I was pretty happy with myself. I would like to animate and make a game with my best friend from those times of me getting bullied as a kid. A rpg game based in hard science. Something that gives off "three body problem" vibes. I also need to learn how to design prototypes. Like maybe some thing for the cooler I want to make. For example. 32 gb of ram even at ddr5 i feel limited in unreal engine. So I will go for possibly 128 gb over time. So a 64gb kit is in my future, then another. Next month I'm getting a 4 tb m.2 for Unreal engine alone and another for productivity needs. I have a 4 tb system now. As far as what I could have done differently. I should have gotten the h9 elite case as it has rgb fans and a controller. But pretty much the same exact case I have. I'm gonna also repair my old mobo if possible and if I can do it right, my nephew who is studying computer science but using a idohan spud will have a power relic of the 9th gen coming his way. I loved what this build did for me. It was more than just a pc build. It was as much a window or veiwport into myself, just as this summary of the build experience was. Sorry for taking that so far. I don't know how to not go 100% at times. Sorry for any typos and such. Big hands, small phone, you know the deal. I'll try to edit if possible. THANKS 😊$971.95 -

After years of research and hesitation, I finally bit the bullet and purchased my first build gear. Intended to replace my 2020 HP desktop workhorse (home office/school machine) with increased processing power, memory, and storage, I built a machine that I can play most of my favorite pc and console games on. It's not an over the top super machine, but I can play the Fallout series with no issues! I'm still new to this, and have plenty to learn. But I will likely add a dedicated GPU soon to help game on highest settings. I think for my next build, I would probably take a step down on the CPU, and put a little more into graphics performance. Starfield is coming!! After all of the horror stories I have heard about first time builders ruining motherboards or processors due to common mistakes, I was absolutely petrified when I first pressed the power button on my brand new custom built PC, and not a single light or fan powered on. After triple checking every connection and wire I could find, my wife was kind enough to point out that I hadn't switched on the PSU. I felt like a complete doofus! Additional parts that aren't listed in the build list are 1: ROG Strix LC II 240 (White) 2: WD Black 1Tb M.2 NVMe Gen 4 3: 1 Fallout 3 Vault-Tec replica bobblehead$1,042.94 -

I wanted to go for something that was modestly priced, that would be able to handle any current game that you throw at it as well as perform efficiently when using CAD software and Game dev engines. My last build was a couple years back and was a very cheap $300 build that was fine for the first two years but then couldn't run your more demanding games and so I wanted to future proof my build for the next 5 years$1,033.93 -

My build started as an upgrade to a 7 year old computer, It had a 5th gen i7-5820 processor on an Asus X-99 chipset motherboard, running 32 Gb DDR4 ram, multiple forms of storage from a 1 Tb Samsung NVME drive, to 3 SSD and 2 HDD totaling close to 10 Tb. Corsair 100 AIO for cooling, and an Asus GTX 1080 graphics card. I first tried just upgrading the graphics card, wondering how much of a bottleneck my processor would be, To my surprise it worked really well upgrading to an Asus Tuff 4070Ti. Then I noticed microcenter had a sale on a new 13th Gen i7, with 32Gigs of DDR5 and a Z790 Asus motherboard. Since I had just been blessed with a financial gift, I went ahead and tried the combo. Wow is all could say, what a night and day difference I noticed running my main sims (MSFS2020 & DCS) as well as with my editing software Lightroom classic and Filmora 12. At this point I thought to myself, after 7 years with my last build it was time to trust the Lord with the finances and finish off the build to my liking. That included the beautifully built and designed NZXT H9 Flow case with Lian Li SL fans and the Lian Li 360 AIO as well as a new MSI Pcie5 ready 850 watt power supply. I also wanted a faster gen 4 M.2 so I added the Samsung 2TB 980 NVME drive with a new key for windows 11. As an avid photographer for my immediate & church family as well as my long time love of flight sims, this new computer is a very appreciated gift from my Lord Jesus Christ. And I am grateful and humbled for the doors he had to open to make it my reality.$2,755.92 -

Since then, I've upgraded the CPU to a 3600 and the GPU to an RTX 3060 Ti. This build was made just as a side project, this is lower end than my actual gaming PC. This is designed to be a nice center piece and basically just runs Plex and is displaying to my LG C2 TV up on my wall, just a nice to have to relax in bed and watch shows. The custom loop is cooled by 6 noctua cromax NH-12 Fans on 360mm corsair rads. Paired with the ASUS Z690 Formula the whole system is liquid cooled (except the SSD and RAM, please dont ;D). I was thinking about putting in the RGB corsair Triangles but realized it would probably be more distracting, plus the blackout idea with black chromax fans and exposed rads hiding the fans creates a minimal look.$3,689.74 -

Built this rig to play my many games at high frame rates while maintaining stellar graphics. I aimed for the 2K resolution as it was the best of both worlds in terms of high refresh rate and still having good-looking graphics. Mainly though, I play games like Battlefield, Call of Duty, Overwatch 2, Wreckfest, Cyberpunk 2077, and many more. For MP games I tend to keep RTX off for the added bump in frames, but for any coop/SP games, I crank everything to 11 and enjoy the beauty. The LG OLED monitor was a perfect choice for me as it provided the refresh rate I wanted while having an incredibly stunning color range and depth of black. Pair that with the 13700K and RTX 4090, and the games not only play super smooth but look incredible while doing so. All this sit on top of the Secretlab Magnus metal desk as I needed something right around this length while having prime cable management and this checked off all the boxes I needed while looking sleek. All in all, everything worked out right the first time, and luckily I planned everything out well enough to where I did not need to reconsider choices. One thing I will change/add in the future is adding my LG 34" UW back into the mix and probably put that on top, just for some extra real estate.$5,869.79 -

I mainly built it to play PC-exclusive games like Project Zomboid and Garry's Mod. But I also wanted a powerful, fast, and snappy PC in order to get my schoolwork done and for streaming.
