I use it mainly for school work and some occasional gaming (Valorant, Minecraft, the likes). I feel like overall I did a good job, as I did a lot of price hunting and got my GPU eBay, the rest from Microcenter with their insane deals. One thing I would have changed if I knew about this earlier was to get a better motherboard - the B450M is good but I ran into a lot of problems for some reason, maybe it was me? This build cost me around $450 - yes, you may have seen the price above, but it did cost me around $450 because of some coupons I used, the GPU came from eBay, and lots of deals Microcenter had at the time I made this a month back. Whatever the case, overall I loved this project.$635.93 -

Before installing everything, updated to latest BIOS which adds AM5 AGESA 1.0.0.7b support, and so far system has been stable with RAM running @ 6000 MHz using the AMD EXPO profile. Only issue found is slow boot to POST (more than two minutes) when video output is from MB HDMI, but when display is connected to GPU, boot times are fast. AIO cooler is overkill for this CPU but I really like the aesthetics of it, and plan to add later the LCD display upgrade to the pump.$1,654.92 -

I have a family member who runs a small business dealing with real estate listings and sales. He had previously been doing all his work on an aging Dell laptop, which had finally completely worn down it's battery. Consequently, it was time he replaced it and asked for my help. There were three main things in mind while building. (1) The desktop needed to be as budget friendly as possible. (2) The desktop needed to be as future-proof as possible regarding the business-related applications that will be run for his business going forward. (3) My family member wanted me to use a small, oddly-designed micro ATX chassis that he had already acquired. I decided that the best route to go is with a value-focused AMD cpu. The rest of the components were chosen to be both complimentary and very budget oriented.$384.98 -

This was used to replace the now non-functional Xbox one S that I used to play on. (Green screen of death). It isn't used for streaming or any other form of content creation. Introducing my latest creation, a build that combines power, efficiency, and aesthetics to cater to both my professional and personal computing needs. At the heart of this machine is the mighty Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core CPU, coupled with NVIDIA RTX A4000 workstation GPU, 64GB of 3200MHz RAM, all nestled mostly* inside the sleek and compact Fractal Terra Mini case. Why I Built It: As a manufacturing engineer, I work extensively with software and require a system that can effortlessly manage complex modeling in SolidWorks and render Unreal Engine graphics. Simultaneously, as a lifelong gaming enthusiast, I wanted a rig capable of delivering unparalleled gaming experiences. From my daily work routines to unwinding with the latest AAA titles, this build fits the bill. This rig has transformed my workflow, enabling faster render times, smoother gaming experiences, and overall improved efficiency. Professional Work: In my profession, time and precision are of the essence. Whether it's modeling intricate designs in SolidWorks or handling software integral to manufacturing engineering, the synergy of Ryzen 9 and NVIDIA RTX A4000 makes my work more efficient and enjoyable. Gaming: As a gamer, I wanted a system that can conquer the latest AAA titles and provide immersive gameplay. With the powerful combination of Ryzen 9 and NVIDIA RTX A4000, I've been playing games like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and NFS Heat at ultra-high settings without breaking a sweat. Modeling and Graphics: For my professional pursuits, this build shines in applications like SolidWorks, where precision and performance are paramount. Unreal Engine graphics projects come to life like never before, rendering in real-time and allowing me to explore my creativity in new dimensions. Future Upgrades & Hindsight: In the future, I might explore adding expanded storage capacity to accommodate larger projects. Overall, I am ecstatic with the result. Conclusion: This build is more than just a computer; it's a reflection of my professional life as a manufacturing engineer and my love for gaming and technology. It's a hub for creativity, relaxation, and connection, playing a central role in my daily life. I welcome fellow engineers, gamers, and enthusiasts to share their thoughts, insights, or simply join in the conversation. Let's connect and continue to innovate!$2,174.91 -
