This is my extra computer I built for both experimenting with linux as well as for bringing over to friends' houses for party games and the like. I built it out of mostly used parts I had available through either liquidation sales or old builds. I'm hoping to upgrade the RAM in the future.$102.96 -

I burnt out the gpu fan headers on this GTX 970 a long time ago so i ziptied a 140mm case fan to the radiator and its still going strong. It peaks at like 68 celsius and it's overclocked to +90mhz. Absolutely crazy. Also my case is some weird antec case from like the cavemen ages but it's okay but it still works. It's also supposed to be a silent case but all my fans are super loud. I don't know how but all this and I still get 100+ fps on destiny.$342.97 -

I use it to tinker with various linux distributions and related open source projects. I don't do any PC gaming, but the APU still gives me some baseline graphics capabilities. And the motherboard offers great expansion potential for future upgrades!$354.95 -

I have a family member who runs a small business dealing with real estate listings and sales. He had previously been doing all his work on an aging Dell laptop, which had finally completely worn down it's battery. Consequently, it was time he replaced it and asked for my help. There were three main things in mind while building. (1) The desktop needed to be as budget friendly as possible. (2) The desktop needed to be as future-proof as possible regarding the business-related applications that will be run for his business going forward. (3) My family member wanted me to use a small, oddly-designed micro ATX chassis that he had already acquired. I decided that the best route to go is with a value-focused AMD cpu. The rest of the components were chosen to be both complimentary and very budget oriented.$384.98 -

Ryzen 3600+Gigabyte B450M DS3H WiFi+Radeon RX6400 low-profile in a Dell Optiplex 990 case. Front panel USB has been swapped from factory wiring to generic USB 3 connectors using the stock USB port locations. Power switch and indicator light were rewired using standard wiring. Built for streaming services and light gaming. RAM is Neo Forza Faye 16GB dual channel DDR4-3000 I had in the parts bin. SSD is a WD Blue SN570 500GB PCI-E 3.0x4 device. PSU is a Solid Gear TFX unit, as the stock Dell unit didn't have enough power on the 12-volt rail for the CPU and GPU. (I also set the CPU to "Eco Mode" so I have more head room on the 12-volt rail.) Heaven runs an average of 52FPS at 1080p ultra with extreme tessellation. Forest Benchmark was running at between 70 and 85 fps. Sackboy's Big Adventure runs 1080p 60 fps framelocked with raytraced shadows and all other settings on high. And yes, the optical drive still works.$395.94 -

She loves pink and unicorns and rainbows. Thankfully no unicorns were involved in this build (other than "unicorn vomit" rgb) but the other two faves are very much prominent. The most demanding game she actually plays might be Bug Fables. So the 4600G will do just fine. Anyway, this is what she wanted. She likes it.$400.94 -

The point of this build is to create a desktop pc that I will use for workstation tasks like photo editing and video editing. This is not really going to be used for heavy gaming, I have another dedicated desktop with a 3080 Ti for that. Instead I just wanted to build something basic, clean looking, and ultimately very budget friendly as it is a secondary machine for my usage. It was a good time to go ahead and build this because the prices of mid-level or basic-level ssd storage and ddr4 ram are both really low compared to the prices they've been at in the past.$421.94 -

Built this originally with a 5600G to utilize the APU to game at 720p, however found a used GTX 1080 to be able to play at a higher resolution with increased graphics settings. It is being used by my 5 year old who just started playing Minecraft and Roblox. Of course I encourage him to play games on websites like PBSKids and other sites to keep up with learning as well. This is nothing fancy but beats getting a prebuilt from Dell or HP. I found the PC Case on Newegg and most other components on Amazon. Thankfully I have a MicroCenter nearby and was able to get the MB and CPU bundle to save me a bit of money.$434.93
