I built this over the course of 5 months finding parts on sale. Performance-wise, this handles 4K 120Hz on everything I've thrown at it. Only times I scale back quality in games is if the GPU kicks up its coil whine a bit too much. Really stable FPS and benchmarking. Solid machine that should last years at High-Ultra in games. Mixed with 24GB VRAM being a productivity monster. Happy with the end result but I would have done a few things differently. An i7-14700K would have been a nice upgrade, but unnecessary for my use case. A bigger change would be opting for 2x32GB of RAM and/or slightly higher-spec'ed RAM (like 6000 CL30 or 6400 CL32). Aesthetically, I'm really happy with how the silver CPU cooler and tan Noctua fans look through the mesh side panel. If everything was black, you wouldn't notice any components inside and the silver+tan give it a subtle "pop" of character. But, if you're more into RGB than I am than going black on all components will be a nicer look and let your RGB shine.$2,929.90 -

I primarily wanted my desktop to take up as small a space as possible and found building out of the NR200 case to be very satisfying. 7900 XT plays anything thrown at it - blew through Starfield at max settings. Highly recommend undervolting the GPU to save thermals. A less power hungry CPU would be even better to reduce heat. As much as I like the SFX-L Asus Loki PSU I chose, I recommend an SFX to gain GPU clearance. Highly advise against an ATX PSU as airflow becomes very difficult to manage. I would also recommend a shorter cooler than the Noctua NH-D15 as I had to force the mesh side panel closed.$2,345.89 -

My prior computer met an untimely death, but I was due for an upgrade anyway. The timing couldn't have been better, as the very next day a great deal came out on an i9 bundle. I thought I would take a stab at building my first unit. Something that should have enough meat to last at least 5 years.$1,489.56 -

I have always wanted to build a PC since my freshman year in high school. All my friends either built their own or got a semi-complete build kit already. Now I am in my first year of college, I have finally saved up enough money to do it. The installation process went pretty smoothly, except I had to buy extension cables for the power supply because the stock cable wasn't long enough. Overall, everything went well and I enjoyed the building process.$1,549.94 -

My brother wanted to upgrade from his 3 years old gaming laptop to a proper gaming PC because his laptop is getting old and overheating often. He wanted something fairly powerful and can handle FPS games in 2K resolution. He also wanted it to be a small footprint PC, so he can move it around, so I decided to build him a pc in mini-ITX case. This is my first time building in a such small pc case, so it took me a while to research and make sure the parts I picked fit in nicely. Overall, the building process went smoothly. An upgrade from my 2010 build, this computer is primarily meant to last another 10 years with Photoshop, web browsing, video-watching, and the occasional video game playing on it. I wanted a solid foundation with the latest Intel processor, DDR5 RAM, SSDs for system and primary storage, and 8TB HDDs in RAID 1 for backup of years of art files and the likes. The GPU is fairly underwhelming, all things considered with this build, but GPU isn't my primary concern and it's also about the easiest thing to swap out when I need to upgrade it. Since I'm not doing water-cooling, I went with a well-ventilated case a Noctua CPU air cooler, and added Noctua's budget fans to the front (using the case's included two fans for a rear and top ventilation.) I also am going with a stealth build... everything is all-black (except the Noctua budget fans... which I may swap or paint later), and I've turned off all lighting (except for the power light.) I do have a slight buzzing from the glass panel of the case that I need to remedy at some point though. I also mis-read the mouse packaging and thought it was a wireless-charging mouse. Instead, it's a standard AA battery. The Keyboard is nice, except that the D key illumination LED is already miscolored days after initial use, and it doesn't keep its key-lighting setting after power-cycles (FN+F12)$3,205.68 -

I have been a console gamer for my whole life because I only had a junk laptop and can't run anything on it. A lot of my friends built their own gaming PC, and I had chance to play on it. It was a whole another experience playing the same game on PC! The graphic and the smoothness in unparalleled! So I decided to build one myself. My HP OMEN laptop was starting to feel tired being put to work 40+hrs a week and additional playtime hours when the weather turns cold. This is it's successor. My gaming is typically heavily modded it until it breaks Skyrim, FFXIV, LOL, Civ VI, RDR 2, Assassin's Creed franchise and so on. Work is some light and heavy excel / sheets for and productivity is light photo / video editing at the amateur level.
