The point of this PC was to be a huge focus on value, not spending any money on anything unnecessary but still looking clean and with some RGB. Performance is great at 1080p and even 1440p as the RTX 3060 is still a great card for most games. The white Powerspec power supply with white cable sleeves really completes this PC as only the GPU and motherboard stand out as not matching the colour scheme.$675.93 -

I was overdue for a graphics card upgrade (had previously been using an nvidia gtx 1060 6gb card). Actually, make that overdue for an everything upgrade. I finally decided that the time was now because the 4070 super at around $600 according to the reviews delivers exactly the kind of 1440p resolution gaming performance that I have been looking for. I needed to build something simple to keep two kids (8 and 10 years old) from taking over a desktop that is normally used for work and office tasks. Thankfully this was pretty affordable because the game they're wanting to play (Roblox and whatnot) are not very demanding. So far, the 5600G graphics have been more than sufficient for their needs. I did it by myself with tons of research and am thrilled at how it came out. It took about a couple months to get it to where I'm happy to show it off, but I love the results. I originally decided to build a high-performance gaming PC for playing Minecraft, Overwatch 2, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six Siege with my friends. My previous computer was barely able to run R6 at a stable 1080p60 so it was definitely time for an upgrade. The centerpiece of this build is the Ryzen 7 5700X Processor. I stumbled upon an incredible deal for this CPU online, a lucky find considering its robust performance and typically high demand. For the CPU, I chose the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE Cooler for its efficiency and the Asus B550M-A Motherboard for its reliability and features. The cooler itself had a very high amount of reviews and given its price, it has been performing fantastically. The memory, G.SKill's Ripjaws, also has not been giving me any issues at all 32GB is large enough to give me the headroom to run virtually any program I need. Storage was an easy choice, I went with the 970 Evo Plus for its insanely fast data transfer rates and reliability. I decided to go with the 970 over 980 for cost reasons alone, the performance was pretty comparable for my standards either way. The most difficult decision was the graphics card, and I ended up with a ASUS RTX 4070 and so far I have no complaints, and I don't plan to overclock for the time being. For the case I went with the Lian Li LANCOOL 205M, and I selected it for its mesh front and focus on airflow. This build was a long journey of finding the right parts at the right price, particularly the CPU, which was a lucky find that definitely boosts the value and performance of the entire computer's setup.$1,149.83 -

(I have an Alienware R7 that's on its last legs) I built this PC for my Dad. He saw how much fun I was having in my games, so he wanted to get into gaming without breaking the bank. We played Apex Legends, Call of Duty Warzone, and Fortnite, and he's been having a blast on his time off from work. I'm glad that everything turned out ok, and for the price to performance, I'm really glad about how everything turned out. Along with that, I wanted this to be an upgrade to our family's main workstation PC which was an ancient HP desktop that we got back in 2008. For what he does, it will last him for another 5-10 years. Thanks to Micro Center for stocking all of these parts at great prices!$561.76 -

I had it for about 4 years, and did the best I could to upgrade it. After years of suffering through ungodly slow daily use, I finally became old enough to get a job. I worked all summer long and saved enough money that I could buy the computer and only spend half of the money I had saved. I decided that I would go all out, in the hopes that this build would last me a long time. I went with, at the time, all the latest and greatest parts that I could buy, without spending so much that I am approaching the point of diminishing returns. And so the Space Heater was born, it keeps me warm during winters and makes me sweat during the summer. Gaming aside, the quality of life of being able to restart your computer in under a minute, not have to wait for 45 minutes to render a single frame in blender, and to just play any game I want without having to think about whether or not I can run it has been absolutely life changing.$1,730.94 -

This was my first DIY build, and I went for a relatively middle of the road spec that's fairly well rounded and not optimized for any particular thing. CPU, RAM, and mobo were from a Micro Center bundle, while the other components were sourced wherever there were deals to be had. The only thing that is missing is a GPU, although the iGPU inside the 7700X has been sufficient in the meantime. The CPU undervolts easily, which allows it to draw only 65W compared to 144W previously and never getting hotter than 70C while only losing 10% performance. Meanwhile the iGPU overclocks pretty well, and was easily stable with a 500Mhz boost. The RAM ran on EXPO settings without any issues. I had originally planned for a 7900XTX and specced an 850W PSU, but my current plan now is to go with a lower end 7800XT or 4070 which has made the 850W a little overkill. In addition to a GPU, cooling will be upgraded with three more case fans, although for the current heat load the two fans are more than enough. The hard drive cage was removed to increase airflow for the expected 7900XTX, so the build uses SSDs only. Even with the change in plans, I'm not going to put the cage back in because it would involve unplugging and replugging the PSU, which is a bit of a pain to do. The room tends to be pretty dusty, and I have added a secondary filter to the front intake along with the built in filter from the case. One downside with this build is that the mobo's PCIe slot is one down, so it utilizes the second slot. However, the case only has room for four slots total, and therefore it limits the GPU to sub triple slot widths only. Coupled with the relatively short spacing available for length (306mm with front fan, 313mm with slim fan, 331mm without), it makes finding a suitably fitting GPU somewhat difficult with how big they have gotten. The front panel cable is also just long enough, but it's under a bit of tension so another inch would have helped greatly.$762.99 -

Originally, I ziptied a stock AMD cooler to the motherboard because I didn't have a backplate. I still don't have a backplate, but I mounted the tower cooler with a combination of old AMD and Intel mounting hardware.$695.94 -

I built this specifically to handle all video editing and gaming, as well as to have a PC that measured up to my mechanical keyboard and peripherals obsession. I play primarily single player RPGs, and also have to create a good amount of video content for work. I needed something that could handle relatively serious gaming applications as well as the most demanding scenarios Adobe has to offer, and this has been up to the task in absolutely every area. I've also recently discovered the joy that is Moonlight streaming on a hacked Switch, so now I'm able to play PC games on the go without having to purchase a Steam Deck. Next up is modifying my 3D Printer so that I'm able to stop/start/pause/monitor prints both from my PC and on the go. I continue to find new use cases for every hobby I take up, and generally the common thread is needing an adequately powerful PC to run everything. This thing overperforms every single time.$1,399.92 -

I saved tons by buying RAM, cooling, and CPU used online. I also managed to find an Aorus Master for $110, which was a steal, even though it doesn’t have CPU OCing. I didn’t want to go too crazy with RGB, but when you keep your lighting at white, blue, and purple, it looks pretty slick, and not like something a 10-year-old drew. I haven’t gotten three of the fans yet, but my temps are honestly doing just fine without them, and I love the NZXT cooling, because it keeps my temps low without being too loud. I’ve been using this for CAD, some 4K gaming at relatively high settings(the GPU is doing fine), programming(hence the i9 and 32GB of RAM), and work/online school. No problems, except that I was considering going for the pricier 6950(which is $200 more expensive, but has 150% the performance of the 6750), and I might eventually upgrade my GPU. Also, the SSD is the slowest m.2 SSD on the market, but it’s still faster than most HDDs, and it was $30. If I were to do it again, I would go for a Samsung SSD for maybe $60, with much better performance. I don’t mind the SSD too much, though.$1,397.91 -

Before installing everything, updated to latest BIOS which adds AM5 AGESA 1.0.0.7b support, and so far system has been stable with RAM running @ 6000 MHz using the AMD EXPO profile. Only issue found is slow boot to POST (more than two minutes) when video output is from MB HDMI, but when display is connected to GPU, boot times are fast. AIO cooler is overkill for this CPU but I really like the aesthetics of it, and plan to add later the LCD display upgrade to the pump.$1,654.92 -
