I use my PC for gaming, recording videos, watching shows and videos, and doing schoolwork. I'm currently working on the "Akatsuki" themed aesthetic with the Tobi Funko pop, and I'm gonna add cable extensions later on. I'll likely upgrade the GPU, at some point in the future before switching over to AM5. The things I would've done differently were to get a AIO cooler for my CPU, and get the 5800x3D rather than the regular 5800x$1,204.97 -

With 4k not being too relevant just yet, this was an affordable option without giving up too much performance, but still look good and perform well! Recently, my old system with an Intel i7-4790k and a GTX 1070ti broke down. I tried for 2 days but could not get it to boot pass window start up loading screen. It's because of that and how outdated it is of a system, I decided to upgrade to a new system. I mostly just doing some lite web browsing as well as doing spreadsheet and video calling. I used to game but since my PC couldn't keep up with the new games as well as life gotten busier I stopped gaming. However, with this new machine of a beast. Every game that I tested now can do well above 100fps with games that goes to the 200fps. So hopefully I can dive back into gaming soon. I went with and Ryzen 7 5800x and ROG Strix B550 motherboard as well as an Radeon RX 7800 XT with the NZXT H6 Flow housing. I know this doesn't have much of an upgrade ability beside from going to the 5800x3d and possibly better GPU however because I want an all-white esthetic and AM4 is the cheapest to go for it.$1,499.92 -

I've been gaming on a work PC for a while now, so I decided to treat myself after my first paycheck. I mostly play Apex and Valorant, but I got a RTX 3080 in case I want to play more GPU intensive games (Ready or Not, Cyberpunk 2077). I think the aesthetics of the case are pretty decent: hence the name form + function. I didn't go too crazy on RGB or aesthetics, but I think the case fans look pretty nice and minimalist. It might look a bit basic, but I think it has a certain charm. When my wallet recovers, I might get some Noctua fans since it's kind of loud right now. It's a pretty high end build, so I don't see myself making too many upgrades in the near future.$1,516.94 -

Everything was brought at a discount! I started building it right after I got home! It took me a day and a half to put everything together since I am a first-time PC builder, but nonetheless, it was done! After installing the operating system and the drivers, I played some games to test the performance. The graphic was remarkable and smooth. In BF2042, I hit 120+ FPS on high graphic settings. In the future, I am going to tweak the setting a little more and see what I can get from this setup, but so far, I am very pleased with it.$1,564.95 -

With online tutorials, I managed to light it up for the first time. I built it during the COVID pandemic, making it challenging to find a graphics card. I settled for a 3700G just to get the PC running. Luckily, I snagged a 3070 Ti FE from Best Buy after lining up all night. A couple years back I bought my first PC as a prebuilt as my 6-7 year old ps4 started to die. Skipping all the nitty gritty and fast forwarding to the present, I’m now a fully fledged PC-Building enthusiast that’d totally spend hours building PCs over and over if they could. This rig is meant for both gaming AND productivity. For gaming it drives a 4k 240hz Samsung Neo G8 Monitor and does extremely well with every game I throw at it save for the most unoptimized games. The current games I find myself playing right now include Alan Wake 2, Battlefield 2042, and Counter-Strike 2. It is an absolute pleasure playing anything with this setup. Ontop of 4k and 240Hz I also play in HDR. It doesn’t really give me a competitive advantage but boy do games look even more amazing with HDR on. Alan Wake 2 is incredibly mastered for HDR and I wouldn’t play it without it on. In terms of productivity I also have a drawing tablet hooked up to this pc so I can draw on it. It’s not terribly demanding on the hardware so a lot of the spec of this rig is absolutely overkill for this kind of work, but every bit of power definitely helps rendering the largest projects I do. The 32GB of ram I have installed is an absolute necessity for the kind of work that I do and while a 5800X3D isn’t really a productivity chip, it definitely gets the job done. Especially since nothing I do demands high frequency clock speeds. Overall, this is absolutely a dream build for me. I’m lucky to be able to acquire this kind of hardware. It’s practically my pride and joy. There are some upgrades I’d like to do when I get the money and the chance. That includes personalization, probably some Lian Li Strimer cables. That’s more of a luxury thing than a necessity so naturally those would be the last thing on my things to put in. I’d probably also unplug everything so I can do some better cable management. I built a pc for my friend and am quite jealous of the better cable management I did for him since, at the time, I just knew better. In terms of actual upgraded hardware. I’d probably upgrade to a ddr5 platform down the road, either with the current newest gen or with a future gen down the road.$2,502.91 -

All the way from the aesthetics to the hardware. I wanted my first gaming computer to play all of my retro game collections up to AAA titles, with having it being future proof for a few years. One major adjustment I made after buying all of my parts, was exchanging my Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 6600 XT 8GB for the Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB.
