With the AM4 platform, there is always room to upgrade but for what I need it for, this is all I need it for. The 5600 is more than enough for simple gaming and general use of the PC. RX 6700 is enough for me to play most games in 1080p 30-60fps.$679.98 -

I wanted to go for something that was modestly priced, that would be able to handle any current game that you throw at it as well as perform efficiently when using CAD software and Game dev engines. My last build was a couple years back and was a very cheap $300 build that was fine for the first two years but then couldn't run your more demanding games and so I wanted to future proof my build for the next 5 years$1,033.93 -

It's overkill for the games I play currently but it's sure nice to only wait a few minutes on a Civ VI turn reload. In hindsight, I would have gone with an Nvidia GPU for the CUDA cores to get quicker image processing for some of my productivity tasks, but overall I'm very happy with the build. The current GPU has awful thermals when under load so I'll be replacing the thermal pads soon. I also am annoyed by the reset button placement on the Fractal case and have bumped it a few times, would recommend unplugging the pins to other case owners.$1,795.90 -

This is a general purpose computer that can handle light gaming at 1440p. It started life as a pre-built CyberPowerPC that I bought in late 2017. This build is to play some choice AAA titles at 4K by leaning heavily on adaptive frame rates and turning down any graphics settings that matter less on high-dpi displays than they would at 1080p. Loads of RAM and NVME storage will make a fine server if pcie5 platforms keep maturing faster than raytracing GPUs do.$1,584.91 -

Yeah the new hardware promises to beat the pants off it but l'll wait at least 6 months - probably a year - for prices to deflate a bit before I think about replacing it.$1,764.91
