Just wanted to showcase my build before I potentially did a custom loop. I've always wanted to, and I feel like I'm at the tier of hardware where I'm not going to want to upgrade anytime soon. Yes I know AM5/4000 series are coming out soon, but unless I can get a lot for my GPU, its not going anywhere. I do plan on getting a Gen 4 SSD very soon also.

I've been building computers since college, and my setup completely exploded during quarantine throughout the pandemic. I expanded to four monitors (one 4k and three 1440p), surround sound, Ryzen, a 3080ti, a home built IKEA desk, and an NZXT H510 Flow. The rig is for everything: gaming, graphic design/Photoshop, home theater, work-from-home station, and web browsing. My most recent additions are the LG 4k monitor, the EVGA 3080 ti, and the H510 Flow.

Also, a shocking display of poor financial decisions, but darn if it isn't a beauty. Very portable thanks to the Lian Li TU150's folding handle! Nice glass side to see the the goods inside. Note that one of the pictures doesn't have a glass side (it's aluminum); I originally bought the Lian Li TU150 without the glass panel, then decided I wanted RGB, so I bought the glass panel version. Included the aluminum panel picture to show a different angle/perspective. Originally I didn't plan on RGB because I wanted to be a cool, smug redditor with an overinflated sense of pride for not hopping on the RGB train. Then I realized life is short be happy and screw Reddit, I'm Going RGB Baby. I've included my monitor and peripherals too because I need a page where I can see where all the money I didn't have went to.

I've always wanted to build a PC, especially a watercooled one, so I went all out for my first build! I mainly built it for gaming and VR, but I also want to get into streaming or recording a bit. Currently, my main 5 games are GTA V, Dead By Daylight, Fall Guys, Beat Saber, and Phasmophobia (it's even better in VR).There won't be a need to upgrade most of my parts for at least 5 years, but it is expected to last me 10 years with proper maintenance and partial upgrades around 5 years. I'm sorry Bitwit, I still haven't replaced the PCIe/Motherboard cables with custom ones!! Total cost of everything ended up being close to $6000

I went to rebuild my rig to an all-white build, and ended up with an opportunity to upgrade CPU, MoBo, & PSU while doing so. 99% of the time this PC is on it is gaming, with half of the time streaming from it while gaming (on my Facebook Gaming Page, WhyNotDonP3). I mainly play Warzone, Battlefield 2042, Battlefront 2, AC Odyssey & Valhalla, with some others sprinkled in here and there. Biggest thing I did on this build was take my time while doing all the wiring routing & cable management to get it done right. I installed all the fans & controllers first, installed the motherboard, connected the fan controllers & case I/O to the MoBo, then ran and tidied up all the fan & RGB headers, tidied up the case I/O wires nice and tight, then ran the easy to run PSU Cables, for an overall nice and clean back panel. It helped that this case (Corsair 5000D Airflow) was very easy to build and do cable management.

The name of my system is Challenger because when I started my build back in 2013 it was a challenge to build. Eventually it was challenger to build it better and faster. The performance got better and better every generation. The purpose of my build is for gaming, photo editing, Video editing, light graphic design, web design, and some crypto mining when I'm not using it for watching movies. As you can tell my system has always been put to the test, that is why I have a 1000 watt PSU and 32gb or RAM to make sure I can support anything I throw at it. Before this new model I had a an intel i9-990K and that did great until this 12th gen of CPU's. The 3080ti really comes alive when it comes to games like Red Dead II and Far Cry 6. I didn't my best could get better but it did when I up graded my system to the 12th Gen CPU. All of this performance is viewed by my Alienware 34" Ultra wide 4k Monitor at 120hz. I was truly amazed when I was playing Far Cry 6 at an average of 110fps at 4k when I first played it on this system. I haven't edited any video yet but the moment I get a product I know it will go by in a flash. The Corsair 4000D case was a tight fit for this rig but it really made a complex system look super clean and simple. I was never really into RGB fans but since everything had RGB I had to buy them and now I'm a fan. lol I'm used to full PC cases but now there is no such thing as a full size case any more since they cover the bottom end with a PSU cover. So if you are like me and had an old full size case with no PSU cover, keep it if you ever want to add a second card for any reason. The Corsair 4000D fits a full size ATX motherboard but that last PCIE slot is going to be just for show. Nothing more than one card fits ion this mid size tower and that also goes for the full size frame as well. This the first time time that I have bought an Asus ROG Maximus Hero motherboard and this board is nothing but high class. You truly get what you pay for in this board. The only thing you'll be sorry about is the price but once you open the box and see all the cool features it comes with you'll be excited to plug it in. The board comes with so many features it would take too long for me to list them but I will say that there is a button that helps you release your GPU from the board which is super helpful. The board also support about 4 NVME SSD's, Two on the board and two on an addition PCIE attachment that comes with the board. This board also has a pretty interesting display that is not that bright but very cool to look at. The board also has plenty of slots for those of you that like to build custom water cooled rigs. I personally use a Corsair AIO cooler H100I Elite Capellix and it does just fine. Mixed with 3 RGB 120mm Fans in the front and 2 120 fans on the cooler and 1 to the rear of the case. So there is RGB all over this Challenger. The only place that doesn't have RGB is my Gigabyte 3080ti and my Corsair RAM. This leads me to remind everyone that if you are upgrading to the 12th Gen CPU's you can't use DDR4 RAM you need DDR 5. I had to learn that the hard way and they aren't cheap right now, so to save some money I purchased the Corsair 32GB 5200mhz RAM kit without RGB at around $300. Anything at that size with RGB will cost you an arm and a leg right now.

With AMD's announcement of Zen 4 with incredibly fast single core, insane IPC increases, and clockspeeds through the roof, I knew I had to have it. My wife and I drove 10 hours to our closest Micro Center (Denver) so we could be there for the Zen 4 launch, and it was so worth it! . I built this PC for gaming, software development, video editing, HiFi audio playback, overclocking, and benchmarking. I mostly play heavily modded Skyrim, No Man's Sky, Forza Horizon 5, and Minecraft, though I also plan on getting back into Fallout 4 in the near future. I'm a software engineer, but I also enjoy writing code in my free time. I also build and sell PCs locally as a hobby/side hustle, which helps to fund my personal systems. Here's the linktree for my PC business: https://linktr.ee/km.pcs . I'll wait until both Nvidia and AMD have released their next-gen GPUs before deciding whether I should upgrade. I want to see reviews with real numbers, especially after Nvidia's laughable 40-series announcement which didn't show raw rasterization (non-DLSS) numbers. AMD's next gen of graphics also looks very promising, so I'll want to see how they'll compare against Nvidia's 40-series before making a decision.

From online school during the pandemic to streaming and playing games with friends. Right now I am very happy with my build but maybe in the future ill upgrade to a 3090, but only the founders addition as it matches the ascetic of the build. I know the build is simple and basic but its what makes me happy. I'm currently playing games like OSRS (Lol, 3080ti for that), Civ6, No Mans Sky, and Cyberpunk 2077. I upgraded all my parts in my main build to move all of my old parts into a new Plex server. Looking forward to getting the new plex server put together. It's going to be going into a rack mount case. I play all my games at 3440x1440 on a 21:9 Alienware 34 inch g-sync 120hz ultrawide monitor. Paired with an additional 2 Dell 2716DG 2560x1440 monitors with 144hz. Mainly use these monitors for productivity and for when I'm working I have all 3 monitors going with something useful. As I work as a network administrator I find use for all the screen real estate. I've been thinking about even expanding to 4 monitors.
