This build came to be after a four hour drive with my brother down to our nearest Microcenter in Marietta GA (Nashville moment). We put everything together over the course of the weekend. I am a Student, Musician, Content Creator and Collegiate Overwatch player, so i wanted to build a space where i could do all of these things, but also relax after a long day.$6,814.86 -

I talked to people and asked for prices for building me one but they wanted entirely too much money. I've built full arcade systems and installed Raspberry Pi's before, so I figured I would take a chance at building my own pc. I like to game on my pc well as do work, and stream. I started doing plenty of research and asking questions at Micro Center. There was a bald guy (Caucasian) with an ear piecing. I believe his name was Tim Hill. He was so polite and professional!!!! I came to the store on three different occasions and I would run into him and he would help me. He's truly an honorable guy! I wanted a DragonBall theme and started downloading lots of pics and videos and edited them for this build. I also ordered several figurines and picked which ones I liked best to install in the pc. I had to disassemble the figurines from their bases and use a grinder to smooth down everything. It truly turned out to be a work of art!!!!!!!$2,894.19 -

Finally, after dreaming about building my gaming pc for years and seeing so many people online with their own PCs, I saved up and got my own! It’s like a dream come true, and I’m so pumped to finally have a setup like the ones I used to watch on screen. And I built this for gaming in 1440p, but so far it had exceeded my expectations. It can totally handle some 4k gaming as well, but need to turn down the setting a bit.$2,009.92 -

This was my first ever PC build, and I have to say, I couldn't be more proud of it. This build was what got me into the PC hobby, and for that, it will always have a special place in my heart. I built this during the COVID pandemic, around the time when all of my friends began switching from console to PC. From then on, I have used this PC to mostly game, on top of day-to-day general tasks such as browsing, media consumption, and school work. As for the games I play, I mostly play whatever my friends play; we always have different phases so we move from game to game. The games that I had the most memorable experiences from, whether from the game itself or just quality moments spent with friends, include Destiny 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Minecraft, Overwatch 2, and Halo MCC. Some singleplayer games that I have enjoyed are Subnautica and Alien: Isolation. After reflecting on this build, there really isn't anything that I'd change. Again, the PC parts markets was definitely tough during the pandemic when I built this, so with that in mind, I'd say the parts I got at their price were well justified; I compromised in areas that weren't important in order to push more budget to more important parts like my GPU. In the near future, I plan to build a new PC; this time, an all-white build. I am happy to say that this current PC, which again has great sentimental value to me, will not be going anywhere. I plan to give it to my dad who will use it as a home media center.$1,437.95 -

I've been piecing this build together a bit at a time for the last six months. I mainly kept an eye out for components that would be a significant upgrade over my 11900K / 3070 Ti desktop build. Shoutout to the employees at my local microcenter who take time to hunt down the random clearance items I order. Everything but the AIO cooler and the ssd storage devices were bought at microcenter. Currently on the 13700k, I have all P cores overclocked to 5.8 with all E cores at 4.4 with vcore set to 1.35 and medium LLC. My ddr5 is modestly overclocked from 6000 to 6400 for the time being. I need to re-learn how to overclock ram because a lot of bios settings have become more complex since ddr3-ddr4 days. From what I understand, Hynix A die modules should be able to overclock significantly higher frequencies - I just need to learn how to pull that off.$1,624.25 -

I basically just wanted to take a crack and building another desktop and, during the process, by doing a few things I haven't done before. One of these new things was building on an AM5 socket. I mainly held off this long from trying AM5 due to initially high DDR5 prices, but those have thankfully already fallen a long way. Another thing I really wanted to try is the new North chassis by my favorite case manufacturer, Fractal Design. I'm pretty brand-loyal to Fractal ever since the Meshify came out several years ago. Anyway the North case does a really nice thing in two different ways. One, it matches the wooden furniture I have elsewhere in my living room. And two, the North case is ventilated is so many different ways, it really opens up near-limitless possibilities for fan customization and airflow optimization.$2,656.92 -
