I built it originally to get the highest frames possible in games like COD, Rocket League, Overwatch, all in 1080p. I’d like to make upgrades to certain parts for power efficiency or heat reduction. I also use it as a cloud gaming rig. If I could've done something different. I think I would've gone for a cpu with x3d. Something like a 7800x3d would've been worth it in the competitive scene, but I still got a great deal with the microcenter bundle. As a side note, I bought my gpu and cpu cooler separately from Microcenter. Zotac 3080 OC and a Peerless Assassin cooler. Everything else I got for an unbelievable price.$1,364.92 -

I built it to get back to gaming after more than 20 years (back in my college days). Its my first build ever as well. I bought 2 bundles from Microcenter - CPU+memory+motherboard and then ASUS Prime case + motherboard + psu bundle. I sold the motherboard from the CPU bundle (since it was regular size ATX board). The build posed some minor challenges which i loved. The Asus Prime case did not allow fitting the Arctic 280 cooler so i had to change one of the fans to a slim profile fan (as you can see in the pic). The HD drive was not easy to mount either. I am not much of a gamer though - but I play Far Cry 6, Metro: Last Light, Counter Strike, GTA V.$1,473.89 -

I've been piecing this build together a bit at a time for the last six months. I mainly kept an eye out for components that would be a significant upgrade over my 11900K / 3070 Ti desktop build. Shoutout to the employees at my local microcenter who take time to hunt down the random clearance items I order. Everything but the AIO cooler and the ssd storage devices were bought at microcenter. Currently on the 13700k, I have all P cores overclocked to 5.8 with all E cores at 4.4 with vcore set to 1.35 and medium LLC. My ddr5 is modestly overclocked from 6000 to 6400 for the time being. I need to re-learn how to overclock ram because a lot of bios settings have become more complex since ddr3-ddr4 days. From what I understand, Hynix A die modules should be able to overclock significantly higher frequencies - I just need to learn how to pull that off.$1,624.25 -

It is used daily for everything, including three monitors. Two of these are used for gaming: One 34" ultrawide monitor that runs 3440x1440 at 100hz, and then alternately a 55" TCL 55R646 tv than I use for a console like experience (wireless controller, steam big picture mode) at 4k,120hz. I primarily play RPG / JRPG, action, adventure games. Up next for me is to play the recently updated current-gen version of The Witcher III at 120fps. The name of this build was drawn from the predominantly graphite & silver scheme on many of the components. I just rolled with this color scheme after finding multiple clearance deals at Microcenter that I considered too good to pass up. The graphics card, motherboard, ddr5 ram, and most of the ssd storage were all taken from Microcenter clearance. The biggest problem I ran into was also directly related to this. Specifically, the clearance / open box RTX 3090 Ti ended up being a bare card only and was missing the required 3-pronged power adapter that plugs directly into the card. Thankfully, I was able to contact MSI and I can recommend their customer support. Since the card was still unregistered and under warranty, MSI sent me the power cable I needed at no further cost to me.$1,775.77 -

It started off as a low end computer because I didn't have much money to be able to afford what I desired. And the only reason I was able to afford those PC parts was because I decided to sell some of my electronics. Those electronics include, a Nintendo Switch with all of its games and a few other things I can't remember. And after I save up enough money and bought all my parts from Amazon, only because I didn't know about Micro Center at that time. I know it sucks, and I feel bad for myself for not knowing about it. And that was the worst time for me to start building a computer since it was 2021, when the prices were too high. So my first parts were a Ryzen 3 3200g CPU, an AsRock B450M Pro4 motherboard, Viper rgb 8 GB 3200 Mhz ram, Crucial P2 500GB ssd, Aresgame 450W power supply, and a cheap MSI case. I didn't buy a GPU until 5 months later when I was able to afford one. That was when I found out about Micro Center, so I bought an AMD Radeon RX 6600 MSI MECH 2X GPU for around $460. From there on I started to slowly upgrade my PC. I changed my ram sticks to Crucial RGB 2x8 16GB 3600Mhz. I bought an AIO from cooler master, which lasted me all those months until just recently I upgraded it because my new CPU needed better cooling. Next I upgraded almost everything with the money I saved up from one of the jobs I worked at. I bought a new case, Motherboard, CPU, and new fans. The case was a Fractal design Meshify C, the Motherboard was an MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus, and the CPU was a Ryzen 5 5600g. I was finally able to play more demanding games, which is good because I love playing Campaign open world games like Far cry and Cyberpunk; and multiplayer games like Call Of Duty. And I was not done, I still wanted better gaming quality and performance. I then decided to go big or go home; Once again I saved up money from work and bought an EVGA RTX 3070 Ti, but I wasn't pleased. So I saved up a little more and bought a EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming 10Gb GPU for the low price of $770 US. And i'm not even joking, that price at Micro Center beat every other retailer, so I was very happy. Also another reason why I was able to afford all the upgrades was because I sold all my old parts to friends or other people, and I would help them put the computer together if they needed it. Then I changed my Ram again to some G.Skill Trident Z Rgb 4x8 32Gb 3200Mhz CL16 because why not. And so this year I made my last PC upgrades until I feel the need to change it up. I received an email from Micro Center of a CPU & Motherboard combo deal for an Intel platform, and I've been wanting to upgrade my CPU so that was my chance to which I took. And that was what caused me to change my AIO to a 360 mm for much better cooling. I also forgot to mention a few other parts I added and changed, which were a new case and more SSD storage. I will have all my recent parts listed, so there is no need for me to list them here. Lastly, the name Rem comes from a female from one of my favorite anime, at first sight she isn't so great but over time she becomes a lovable person just like my PC. And her hair is blue which is my favorite color. Finally, all of this happened because I was bored of playing games on console and I wanted to become better since I wasn't making anymore progress on controller. And I was inspired by Linus Tech Tips to build my own rig. I learned almost everything from his YouTube channel. I want to thank you Micro Center for all the amazing deals and for reading my rant of my long journey that lead me here.$2,276.85 -

I had a previous custom built pc and it was showing signs of age as the games were unable to run efficiently and it started to slow down and made loud noises. Boot time took around 3-5 minutes. So I decided to use some money I had saved up and buy the best components I could find to build my best custom PC so far. I didn't hold back at all and decided to go with the thermaltake p3 open air chassic with dual water cooling of the cpu and gpu through a hard tubed circuit. I made this masterpiece to play mainly Rocket League and to use it for programming as I am a Computer Science major student and need a powerful computer to be able to handle programs I might need to run. This pc can boot up in 10 seconds, shows very low temps almost always even under heavy gaming and can run almost any game with the powerful 3080. I build this desktop with the goal in mind to take (almost) all the components from my existing build and assemble them into a mini-itx based system. Of course, to do this I needed a different motherboard so I went from a z690 to a b660. I don't plan to overclock so the features lost from moving away from a z690 motherboard don't really affect me. This particular itx case (NR200P) comes with both tempered glass and vented aluminum panels as options. I chose the vented panel for better temperatures. I fly drones and film in 4k 120fps so i need a PC capable of heavy editing, hence the 5900x cpu and the 64gb ram. PC never lags on Adobe Premiere Pro which used to be a problem on my i7 9700. Also need a good GPU for that and I love gaming so i got a 3080 RTX hooked up to a 4k 144hz monitor. Can push most modern games to 120fps and if game is a few years old such as Prey ill easily hit 144fps on 4k ultra. Mainly play Darktide, COD MW2, microsoft flight sim, and cyberpunk. I'm overclocking getting 110-120fps in 4k high on the new COD MW2. Between all the games and the massive 4k HDR video files I need lots storage so i have a grand total of 6.5TB. All SSD storage, 1.5GB on NVMe SSDs and the remaining 4GB are on SATA SSDs. I sourced the large majority of parts from Microcenter Houston. I even got there a few hours before open and stood in line 3 times before scoring the 3080, i got it 2 months after i came out. Microcenter doesn't carry EVGA mobo so that's one of the only parts i didn't get there. My cpu is liquid cooled by corsair h100i elite AOI and all 8 fans are corsair magnetic levitation ML120 pros, some RGB some not. This way ill never have to worry about the ball bearings wearing out, squeaky fans are the worst. My oldest m120 fan has been through my last 3 builds and works just as well today as it did when i got it. Will probably keep this build the way it is till EVGA gets back in the GPU game. One of the reasons i got the amd 5900x cpu was to future proof this for next gen GPUs.$4,044.74 -

Built for gaming (mainly play COD, Fortnite, Halo) and entertainment/content consumption. Perfect for 1440p (165 fps+ average on all games high/ultra settings thus far). Probably overkill for what I do with it, but I enjoy it nonetheless.$2,053.94 -

Was able to get sweet deals from black friday, christmas holidays, and cyber monday. Luckily prices are dropping for CPUs and a bit for GPUs (if used). I was able to build somtehing that I can game with and even occasionally stream with if needd. the only thing i need to wait for is 4000 series to drop but they're so overpriced.$1,972.93 -
