This person only does occasional gaming so that wasn't the main focus. The main requirement is that the physical chassis fit in a specifically small space on her desk underneath some cabinets. As a result, I decided to use a micro - atx (matx) board for the first time. I generally avoid them because many are lower in quality compared to full-size atx boards. But in this case using matx form factor was necessary. Something I would do differently would be to pick another case that has less wasted space below the motherboard tray. I may rebuild this sometime in the future with a case that is even more compact.$1,054.94 -

This is the final hardware refresh / rebuild that I plan to ever do for the AM4 socket. Which is somewhat of a sad thing to say because it's been a great run for AMD. The best value gaming cpu has been recently released, the 5600x3D. So with that last piece inhand it was time to do enter the final state. The 5600x3D is currently more than adequate for my RTX 3060 12gb card, so the card itself might be the next thing I end up replacing. Getting very solid performance in games like The Outer Worlds. Usually above 120fps playing on a 1440p monitor.$1,094.92 -

I know, I know, but I wanted something immediately. Spent several hundred dollars on it, and I had issue after issue, because I wanted to play games it couldn't handle. It was on a Lenovo Shark Bay motherboard (NOW you know what I was living with, right?) and one day, while installing a corsair PSU, I damaged an adapter. Went to Micro Center to replace it (amazon had it for like $6), but they didn't carry it. So, I spent $475 on a new motherboard, CPU, and some RAM. Packed it all into the old case with the old GPU. But, now that I had some good hardware, the GPU was holding it all back. Decided the 1050 ti wasn't cutting it for me anymore. Went and bought a new GPU from Micro Center. So, the build. You'll notice I didn't name any of the new parts yet. That's intentional. Also, disclaimer, several pieces in this build did not come from Micro Center, and instead came from Amazon. So...can you build a GOOD gaming PC for less than $1500, right now??? YES!$1,160.92 -

I built it because at the time I worked for Intel and got discounted CPUs, so figured why not! Only bad part was I got caught right in the middle of the GPU shortages, but I was fortunate to be able to get an RTX 3060 from the EVGA queue when everything was out of stock. I generally play RPG type games (Elder Scrolls) and strategy games (Civilization franchise) and I dabble a bit into shooters, but not much.$1,214.93 -

I've been planning to make this setup over 2 years ago and finally completed it! I have my PC for almost a year and a half now but only finished with the setup itself a few days ago. I wanted my PC to be white and esthetic so I bought white parts as well as Corsair QL fans and sleeved extension cables to make it look good. I wanted a white 3060 Ti or 3070 GPU but couldn't get one at the middle of the GPU crisis so I settled with the TUF GAMING RTX 3060 (My brother let me use his GTX 1660 until it arrived) and I'm very happy with this GPU it's very powerful and it matches perfectly with my 5600X CPU. Also bought a 850W power supply (I know it's overkill for this rig) for extra future proof, Who knows what parts I will want to upgrade in a few years. For the setup I bought a white chair and desktop with some white and black peripherals to match with the color scheme of my PC. For cable management I bought some trays and cable organizers to hide as much cables as I could and I think I did a pretty good job with it.$1,263.93 -
