Bought my first prebuilt budget gaming pc in 2020 with i5-10400F, GTX 1660 Super 6GB, 16GB RAM DDR4 2666MHz and 1TB SATA SSD to play FPS games (Valorant, COD, R6). After 5 years, it could barely run cyberpunk and frostpunk at 1080p 60fps on medium setting without ray tracing, so I decided to invest into a mid-high ends custom pc built with the help of my buddy who recommended me to buy discounted bundle parts on Micro Center website and build it at home to save money for better parts.$1,279.92 -

Had an older rig (i7-6700k, GTX 1070) that I wanted to upgrade from, especially since a coworker agreed to buy it. So I went to Microcener and got all the parts except for the GPU (purchased used). I use it for gaming in 1440p, mostly Halo Infinite and PUBG, emulation, and I plan on buying the FF7 Remake and RE4 remake to play in 1440p as well. I also do some sim racing in Asseto Corsa. I have also tossed around the idea of streaming, but that hasn't panned out yet.$1,354.94 -

For a long time I had been using my laptop on RTX 2050, which was not enough for me, till I decided to build this PC. Initially I wanted to buy RTX 5070 TI but its disappointing availability and price just changed my mind so that I switched back to AMD and bought one of the most beautiful RX 9070 XT from XFX Mercury. It is already my 4th AMD graphic card and I have not regretted buying any of them. Even though I actually think that XFX Mercury is overpriced a little in terms of cooling/noise, lack of new 1 x 16-pin (if compare with Nitro+) and OC versions of this cards just don't make sense. Better just reduce power limit for 10% and enjoy if you have OC sample. The other parts as you can see I bought white as well. Even PSU is white. And someone could ask me why I am using air cooler with such powerful CPU as Ryzen 7 7800x3d. Come on people that is 95w processor, it is OK with air. Yes it is noisy a bit but not annoying. Btw I tried putting AIO (Artic liquid freezer 3 pro) in that case and It just hasn't fitted because of thick radiator I guess.$1,962.92 -

I legitimately spent about 6 months stubbornly, obsessively, frustratingly trying to find the nvidia rtx 5080 card I wanted. I insisted that I would not pay for one of the 3rd party upcharge models that have no real benefits over the standard prices associated with the FE line that were set by nvidia. In summary, this was a spectacular failure. While the 5080 release was a complete failure for me, I found it a lot easier to obtain a reasonable 5070 card. I'm a little worried that the 12gb vram won't be very future proof, but for now it's serving me well and I have no complaints about it's base performance. While I was looting microcenter, I decided to upgrade to a larger and quieter air cooler since it was so affordable. I also upgraded my rgb components from static rgb to customizable argb - even though i still am most comfortable with the standard blue glow.$1,584.92
