As an undergraduate data scientist who has hobbies in making videos, 3d modelling, and some occasional light gaming I wanted an upgrade from my 2015 machine that would give me enough power to support my everyday workflows and interests. When the 3060 came out it was the perfect time to upgrade for me and I am very satisfied with the kind of performance I get out of this build every day.$1,121.96 -

I play games like Valorant, Terraria, and Minecraft. I hope to in the future get a 12600k when I upgrade for PCIE gen 5, which would slightly boost the performance of my GPU and SSD, and DDR5. For now, I might change out the case for a case with better airflow and a space for cable management, since I only have 2 fans and there's no airflow from the front, and I didn't cable manage well, so it might help to get a new case with a good space to properly cable manage. Other than that, I am considering a RAM upgrade to 32gb, but it probably wont last long if I end up getting a motherboard with DDR5 in the future.$1,095.93 -

This is the final hardware refresh / rebuild that I plan to ever do for the AM4 socket. Which is somewhat of a sad thing to say because it's been a great run for AMD. The best value gaming cpu has been recently released, the 5600x3D. So with that last piece inhand it was time to do enter the final state. The 5600x3D is currently more than adequate for my RTX 3060 12gb card, so the card itself might be the next thing I end up replacing. Getting very solid performance in games like The Outer Worlds. Usually above 120fps playing on a 1440p monitor.$1,094.92 -

The go-to gaming rig that I put together over the last two years, the primary use case of this is Warframe and photoshop lol. I wish I invested in a better case originally cause right now it's really hindering my ability to invest in water cooling .$1,083.91 -

I built this PC to play 1080p games on high settings with a high refresh rate. I play League of Legends, Apex Legends, Skyrim, and soon Elden Ring. In hindsight, I would get a glass panel case to show off my components, but I wasn't aware of PSU shrouds to hide bad cable management, and I didn't want to spend a lot of time managing cables on my first PC build.$1,081.91 -

With the sky-high prices on GPUs at this moment, one has to try their best to save on the other parts of the build to not crazily go overbudget. This build configuration is a great way to get a decently powerful setup without breaking the bank! This may not be the quietest or flashiest build, but it's nearly impossible to match its performance : price ratio!$1,068.98 -

I think this is a great base model for me to play games with high quality graphics and also have enough memory to do video making, streaming, audio work, art, etc. Definitely a learning experience making this build, but I'm very satisfied with the product. If I were to change anything I would invest in quieter fans and RGB that can be turned off or a tinted glass case.$1,067.91 -

This person only does occasional gaming so that wasn't the main focus. The main requirement is that the physical chassis fit in a specifically small space on her desk underneath some cabinets. As a result, I decided to use a micro - atx (matx) board for the first time. I generally avoid them because many are lower in quality compared to full-size atx boards. But in this case using matx form factor was necessary. Something I would do differently would be to pick another case that has less wasted space below the motherboard tray. I may rebuild this sometime in the future with a case that is even more compact.$1,054.94 -

I have built many computers through my life since 1993. It serves as a family computer and a gaming pc for myself and my son. My favorite games are strategy based, which are flexible with my free time. In the near future I am planning to acquire a sound card for this pc.$1,052.93
