The "RGB Slayer" is a gaming PC that brings the nostalgia of a past era with the performance needed to rock 1080p gaming today. It features an MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU, which may be a bit older but still handles 1080p games with ease. Powered by a Ryzen 3700x and packed with 32GB of RAM, this build combines reliable performance with stunning aesthetics. The vibrant RGB fans and motherboard lighting bring the whole setup to life, making it a true showstopper in any room. While it might look a bit dated by today’s standards, the RGB Slayer still slays on the battlefield, delivering smooth gameplay and eye-catching visuals.$754.94 -

This build was a commission for a client that contacted me through my website (DCPCNYC.weebly.com). He wanted a PC to do schoolwork and very light gaming, but his budget was extremely tight at $400 with everything including tax fee and parts. He also was looking for a build that could be relatively upgradeable in the near future. This obviously was very hard to complete, but I just barely managed by taking advantage of amazon used deals (which I of course let the client know beforehand) due to the better value you can find for lower end PC's. I went with the 4600g as I found it used in good condition with the cooler included from amazon warehouse. The motherboard was also used from warehouse, and was in stellar condition which I was very surprised by regarding the horror stories I have heard from warehouse deals. Everything worked great and it was a very straightforward build. Only thing I wouldn't recommend is the case since the airflow in the front is extremely restricted by the plastic smoky panel. I was impressed with the performance of the 4600g scoring similarly to a 3600 in R23 and getting respectable frame rates at low settings in esports titles like Fortnite and other games. The customer was very happy with the how the build turned out and I'm glad he enjoys it, he also mentioned how he wanted to start tinkering with it with upgrades (like a dedicated graphics card) to get more comfortable with building PC's. Which is also why I went with a 650w unit that obviously is way overkill for his current config, but will serve him well if he adds something like a RX 6600 down the line.$312.73 -

I come from a console background so building this as my first PC would give me more versatility in the games I could play. I mainly play a lot of shooters like Apex Legends and Overwatch so I didn't really need anything too high end starting out. Besides that, I'm planning to get a racing wheel relatively soon and start playing games like Assetto Corsa and iRacing.$1,050.91 -

It worked well for all games that I tested at 1080p, and had some respectable ray-tracing performance in games like Forza Horizon 5. This really surprised me as I thought the GTX series had no Ray tracing cores, but I guess I was wrong. This flip took the longest to sell (about 7 weeks) which was really frustrating but likely it was just priced too high at the wrong time of the year. I originally listed it for $575 and ended up lowering to $475 and selling it finally at that price. So I guess lesson learned then. The profit was really slim compared to other flips I have sold at only $86.43, but profit is still profit.$381.64 -

I built this rig with a dual purpose in mind: high-performance gaming and efficient content creation. I wanted a system that could handle the latest AAA titles like Elden Ring, and Call of Duty: Warzone, and Black Myth Wukong without any issues. I’m also interested in making more content. Specifically, working with video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and 3D rendering in Blender. So essentially a build that's versatile enough to handle both gaming and demanding creative workflows.$1,894.90 -

Been working in IT for a while but never got around to building a PC until now. Was previously using basic laptops and a MacBook Pro from ~2017 which were usable but not great for gaming. Made this for gaming, personal coding projects, and messing around with Linux, VMs, and sysadmin stuff. Budget was $800, was willing to go a bit higher but actually ended up bit lower. All parts except GPU were purchased new. CPU/Mobo/RAM were a Micro Center AMD bundle, with 32GB DDR5 added instead of the single 16GB stick. Mobo seems decent, although it interestingly still has VGA and PS/2 connectors that I probably won't ever use. I liked the Fractal Pop Mini Air case. Fits the microATX mobo great and is a bit smaller than a regular mid-tower so it doesn't leave a bunch of wasted space for the PCIe slots that aren't there. The build quality seems a bit better than other cases I was looking at too. It was pretty easy to get everything in, although wiring the rear fans was a bit tricky with the limited cable lengths and I ended up just daisy-chaining the cables to the front fan, which then plugs into the mobo so the cables are a bit sloppy. The fans are RGB but I currently have them set to solid white for now. I'm not using the 5.25" bay on the bottom front which is covered by a kinda finicky magnetic cover, but there's some extra SATA HDD/SDD trays down there which are nice. So far the Radeon 6700 XT has been great, I've been playing Death Stranding with maxed settings on my 4K TV which is way better than what my old laptops could handle, and of course older games also run great maxed out. Haven't really tried anything newer since I didn't think my laptops would handle it very well. Should be a good PC to upgrade in the future with AM5 and a newer GPU when the time comes.$779.26 -
