I set out with a goal of creating a 4K capable gaming PC. With games becoming increasingly cinematic, I wanted to build a system which would handle higher-resolution scenarios, focusing on creating a more immersive experience. The game I'm most looking forward to, so far this year, is "Elden Ring". Thankfully, I was able to obtain the parts I needed, prior to the game's launch later this month. The journey was a challenging one, much like the games I enjoy, so I guess it's fitting! Like many others, the GPU was the most challenging part to find. Ultimately, I got my chance by entering my local Micro Center's random selection process (on a cold, unforgiving, winter morning nonetheless). One difficult decision was going with a DDR4 motherboard over the newer DDR5. Ultimately, I went with DDR4, because I felt it offered greater value and decent performance, too. Once DDR5 has matured a bit, and is less scare, I hope to upgrade my motherboard.
