I’m not a competitive gamer and I also don’t play games that require the max resolutions. I just casually game here and there. Any recommendations? I’m also trying to stay in a budget below $210. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments LandShark admin January 2021 Hello @Luna77 are you looking for a TV or a Monitor? Typically monitors would not have speakers but may offer better latency or performance. TV's would typically offer better sound and larger options. If you're playing at a distance from the monitor, such as from the couch, I'd recommend a larger display. However, if you're playing at a desk and closer to the monitor I'd recommend a monitor somewhere in the 27-32 inch range. I'd also recommend a 4k display so that you're able to take full advantage of the resolution the PS5 has to offer.  If you decide to go with a monitor, I'd recommend purchasing some speakers as well. Monitors do not typically have high-quality speakers and instead focus primarily on visual performance.  For desktop monitors, I'd recommend the following. https://www.microcenter.com/product/627531/lg-32un650-waus-32-4k-uhd-60hz-hdmi-dp-freesync-hdr-pre-calibrated-led-monitor If you have an idea of what your budget might be, I could adjust this recommendation and possibly recommend a larger display option as well, if you're interested in that.  Please let us know! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook ninja502 ky ✭✭ January 2021 i bought a  LG 29WN600-W.AUS 29" WFHD 75Hz HDMI DP FreeSync HDR UltraWide IPS LED Monitor SKU: 171702 . its a 4k and i use mine for pc games and series X system  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 7.9K All Categories 1.2K The Blog 59 What's Trending 15 Past News and Updates 185 How to & Technical Guides 13 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking 2 Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 20 3D Printers 20 Maker 32 PC Build Guides 120 Reviews & Buying Guides 55 Build Showcase 27 Contests 48 Past Contests 1.6K The Community 1.9K General Discussion 106 New Members 245 Consumer Tech 67 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 100 Software 8 Audio/Visual 27 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 3 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 22 Hobby Boards & Projects 33 3D Printing 68 Retro Arcade/Gaming 92 All Other Tech 1.6K Store Information and Policy 77 Off Topic 16 Community Ideas & Feedback 120 Your Completed Builds 2.9K Build-Your-Own PC 1.9K Help Choosing Parts 251 Graphics Cards 200 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 73 Cases and Power Supplies 23 Air and Liquid Cooling 26 Monitors and Displays 33 Peripherals 19 All Other Parts 28 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration? Consoles are making huge leaps and bounds in performance, growing closer and closer to PC visual quality and features. The PlayStation 5 even allows you to add additional internal storage by installing your own NVMe M.2 SSD. Contents What's the difference? PlayStation 5 Specifications What's the Price? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments LandShark admin November 2020 edited November 2020 What’s the difference between the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital? Sony has released two different versions of the PS5. While there are differences, performance is not one of them. However, the PS5 Digital edition does not have a disc drive, meaning you’ll have to download all of your content. Is the PlayStation 5 Backward Compatible? Sony mentioned that the PlayStation 5 is compatible with an "overwhelming majority" of PS4 games. Some PS3 and PS2 titles are playable via PlayStation Now. That being said, the controllers have much more limited compatibility. PS4 controllers are only compatible with PS4 games, so you’ll have to buy new controllers to play new PS5 titles. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin November 2020 edited November 2020 What are the specs of the PlayStation 5? (Coming in third place is the Xbox Series S, with only 364 GB of usable storage). At first glance, this all sounds pretty good, but downloading just a few popular games could eat into your available space considerably. In fact, if you’re a Rockstar Games fan, downloading Red Dead Redemption 2 alone sucked up a substantial 150GB of your available space. So, what do you do if you just want to fight the law in the wild west, but you don’t have enough space to simply open the world? Let’s get started with finding SSD expansion options that are compatible with your console. What SSDs work on P5? While there are a variety of options for memory expansion on your PlayStation 5, we’ve rounded up a couple of our favorites below: Best Overall Option Inland Gaming 2280 With 2 TB of internal storage and sequential read speeds up to 3400 MB, this solid-state option will increase your storage along with your speed. Additionally, every Inland product comes with a three-year limited warranty to ensure you receive high-caliber support and service throughout your storage expansion endeavors. Best Budget Option Crucial P5 Plus Delivering sequential reads up to 3400 MB, this Crucial SSD option includes a variety of advanced features, like dynamic write acceleration and adaptive thermal protection to ensure your data remains safe while your performance remains reliable. Neither of these options do it for you? Not to worry–you can use the following spec list (provided by Sony) to ensure that your self-selected option fits all of the criteria needed to bring your machine to maximum performance. As with anything, please make sure to check the list against your selected item carefully, to ensure peak compatibility. ●    Format: PCle Gen 4.0 (x4) M.2 NVMe SSD ●    Capacity: 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, or 4TB ●    Read Speed: 5500MB/S or faster ●    Total Size with Heatsink: 110 x 25 x 11.25 millimeters ●    Form Factor: 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280, 22110 ●    Heatsink: Required Micro Center carries a wide selection of PS5 compatible hard drives – see the full list here. How do I install an SSD to my PS5? Once you’ve chosen the appropriate SSD, there are just a few steps to get things up and running:  Make sure you’ve got the most recent system software–Sony did not release SSD expansion at the beginning of the PS5’s lifecycle, so if you have a factory-stock PS5, it won’t accept storage upgrades. Completely power down your PS5 and unplug it. Provide a few minutes for everything to cool down. Lay your PS5 on a soft surface and remove the white cover by pushing it toward the base. After that, you’ll remove the SSD cover, pop in your new card, and put your system back together. Enjoy your additional storage space! Check out this official Sony explainer for a more in-depth installation walkthrough. What SSDs work on Xbox X? Xbox S? As it pertains to Xbox SSD cards, there is really only one contender worth your time, and it is listed below: Best Overall Seagate Storage Expansion Card With over 1TB of capacity and an incredibly tiny size, the Seagate Storage Expansion Card is an excellent external storage option. If you’re looking for something you can just pop in to upgrade your storage, this is absolutely the option for you! How do I install an SSD to my Xbox X or S? Although the Internet is full of different tips and hacks to update the internal storage of your Xbox X, the safest option is to utilize an expansion card or external drive. This will allow for a safe install while facilitating the same storage upgrade you are looking for. Your expansion card will install on your device through a dedicated slot in the back of the Xbox. Simply pop it in (no need to turn it off), and your system will recognize and configure your new device. Not sure where to begin? Head over to your local Micro Center! Have a chat with any of our associates and they’ll be happy to help you find exactly what you need to upgrade any system you have. From PCs to Xbox to PS5, we can get you gaming quick!   0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments JPSHRACER ✭✭ March 15 I would upgrade my Xbox Series X using the Seagate 2 Terrabyte (TB) expansion card however at $399.99 it is really expensive. The Non Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) is worth it for the speed. I filled up the 1TB NVMe internal. I use my old Seagate 4TB Universal Serial Bus (USB) 3.0 drive. It is also filled up. I probably need another Seagate USB 3.0 5TB hard drive for my games. I will save up for both. Gotta have storage space for game installs and save files 😇 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 7.9K All Categories 1.2K The Blog 59 What's Trending 15 Past News and Updates 185 How to & Technical Guides 13 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking 2 Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 20 3D Printers 20 Maker 32 PC Build Guides 120 Reviews & Buying Guides 55 Build Showcase 27 Contests 48 Past Contests 1.6K The Community 1.9K General Discussion 106 New Members 245 Consumer Tech 67 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 100 Software 8 Audio/Visual 27 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 3 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 22 Hobby Boards & Projects 33 3D Printing 68 Retro Arcade/Gaming 92 All Other Tech 1.6K Store Information and Policy 77 Off Topic 16 Community Ideas & Feedback 120 Your Completed Builds 2.9K Build-Your-Own PC 1.9K Help Choosing Parts 251 Graphics Cards 200 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 73 Cases and Power Supplies 23 Air and Liquid Cooling 26 Monitors and Displays 33 Peripherals 19 All Other Parts 28 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration? Do I have to log in to the site at 12am and order it online for in store pick up and it will be available same day? Im currently trying to avoid the mad rush of major stores and find the best way to get the console before they sell out 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSTonyV admin November 2020 I believe we intend to have them, but stock will likely be very limited.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook CMerk ✭ November 2020 Will stock be available for online purchase only or allowing line at the door in store purchases? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin November 2020 I'm pretty sure these will be in-store only.  1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook CMerk ✭ November 2020 Appreciate your answer  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook UtorkaFam ✭ November 2020 A few questions related to this.  First, will there be a queue/line forming outside the store prior to store opening?  Second, will it be one PS5 per customer or a free-for-all?  Just want to confirm this before I take off of work to stand in line and assess what time I need to get there to have the best chance of getting one before they sell out.  Thanks! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin November 2020 There will most likely be a line forming before the store opens, yes. First time here in desperate need of some help. I picked my first streaming rig from micro center 3 days ago and while I’m blown away at what an awesome build this is, I seem to be having some issue setting up my equipment. I am a console player on a PS5 and trying to use my PC to stream using streamlabs obs. I have the elgato 4k60 capture card, elgato chatlink cable, blue yeti nano as a mic and my hyper x wired headset. I’ve connected the chat link cable correctly to my ps5 controller and headset as well as to the back of my Pc as a “line in”. I honestly don’t know if I’m missing something as I am new to all this but I’ve watched at least 50 YouTube videos trying to fix my issue which is no audio coming through at all in game chat, no one is able to hear my while using my yeti nano. I don’t know if it’s physical issue or a streamlabs issue I’ve run out of ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 7.9K All Categories 1.2K The Blog 59 What's Trending 15 Past News and Updates 185 How to & Technical Guides 13 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking 2 Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 20 3D Printers 20 Maker 32 PC Build Guides 120 Reviews & Buying Guides 55 Build Showcase 27 Contests 48 Past Contests 1.6K The Community 1.9K General Discussion 106 New Members 245 Consumer Tech 67 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 100 Software 8 Audio/Visual 27 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 3 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 22 Hobby Boards & Projects 33 3D Printing 68 Retro Arcade/Gaming 92 All Other Tech 1.6K Store Information and Policy 77 Off Topic 16 Community Ideas & Feedback 120 Your Completed Builds 2.9K Build-Your-Own PC 1.9K Help Choosing Parts 251 Graphics Cards 200 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 73 Cases and Power Supplies 23 Air and Liquid Cooling 26 Monitors and Displays 33 Peripherals 19 All Other Parts 28 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration? And there is a lot of new tech being shown off. Some of it is super cool, with the potential to revolutionize industries. Others are a bit more niche and quirky, with responses ranging from "huh?" to "huh. Neat." Rather than making you sort through all that CES has to offer, we pulled out some of our favorite tech we've seen and given some quick thoughts about why we're so excited. HyperX's Cloud Alpha Wireless Gaming Headset What it is: a brand new wireless gaming headset with (up to) a 300-hour battery life. When it'll be available: around February. Why we're excited: 300 hours on a single charge. That is a seriously big deal from a company that is already producing stellar gaming headsets. For context, their Hyper X Cloud II Wireless headset has a battery life of around 30 hours. I've been a long-time fan of their Hyper X Cloud II wired headphones (though I'm currently using the SteelSeries Arctis Prime). They're incredibly comfortable with a fantastic detachable microphone. My biggest hold-out from going completely wireless was the charge requirement - I'm terrible at remembering to plug things in. But with 300 hours of usage off a single charge? Sign me up for a pair of the Cloud Alphas. Sony Playstation VR2 and Playstation VR2 Sense controller What it is: the next generation of Playstation VR for the PS5 When it'll be available: unannounced Why we're excited: Playstations original VR headset was a big deal for the VR space. Not only was it commercially available, but it was also playable without a high-end PC, and it played well. The drawback was the controllers, hold-overs from the Playstation 3 Move lineup, and surprisingly hard to come by for a while. The PSVR2 comes with the next generation of VR controllers, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers similar to the ones found in the PS5 DualSense Wireless controllers. The headset itself is also getting a major upgrade, with 4K HDR OLED displays and 90/120Hz frame rates on top of controller and eye-tracking technology to make the VR experience even more seamless. Plus: Horizon: Call of the Mountain, a new VR game in the Horizon Zero Dawn universe. New Razer Blade 14, 15, and 17 Gaming Laptops What it is: super-thin gaming laptops When it'll be available: Q1 2022 Why we're excited: Gaming laptops can get big. More thin, easy-to-transport gaming laptops are always welcome, and the Razer Blades are just that. The Blade 14 is, as the name implies, a 14" gaming laptop stuffed with an AMD Ryzen 9 processor (from their new 6000 series), 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, 3070 Ti, or 3080 Ti laptop GPU. The Blade 15 gets a bit bigger with a 15.6" display, an Intel 12th gen Core i7-12800H processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or 3070 Ti laptop GPU. Lastly, but certainly not least, the Blade 17 has an incredible 17.3" display (with a QLED option!), an Intel 12th Gen i7-12800H processor, 16Gb of DDR5 RAM, and either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or 3070 Ti laptop GPU. In brief: three new slim and powerful gaming laptops from Razer. Three Stunning New Monitors from Samsung What it is: the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 (a curved 4k, 240Hz gaming monitor), the Smart Monitor M8 (an ultra-slim smart monitor), and the UHD Monitor S8 (a creator monitor with advanced color options) When it'll be available: 2022 Why we're excited: I can't imagine a single need not being met by one of these monitors. The Odyssey Neo G8 looks like an absolutely stunning gaming monitor with a massive 32" curved screen, 4k resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, and 1 ms response time, all built on Quantum Mini LEDs. This thing is going to be incredible to game on. The Smart Monitor M8 clocks in at only 11.4mm, making it one of the thinnest monitors out there. Yet, it still manages to cram a UHD panel as well as smart TV and productivity apps into that tiny space all the while balancing a SlimFit Cam on top. The UHD Monitor S8 comes in both 27" and 32" models and looks to be a game changer for creators. It delivers up to 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut on a UL verified Glare Free monitor. Lenovo ThinkPad Z What it is: a new iteration of the ThinkPad business laptop When it'll be available: Spring 2022 Why we're excited: The Lenovo ThinkPad has been a cornerstone of the laptop market for years. Offering consistently reliable designs, power, and utility, they've become a staple of both business and home-use laptops. The ThinkPad Z takes that idea and turns it up to 11. The ThinkPad Z series will be powered by AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 series processor with up to 32Gb of LPDDR5 RAM and 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. Both the 13.3" and 16.0" models utilize gorgeous OLED screens for fantastic visual fidelity. Add on the FHD webcam, and you have your office wherever you go. And don't worry, the mouse nub is still there. Those are our favorites so far, but CES has a few days yet to go. Keep an eye on the Community for more of our favorites! They are obviously going to discourage people from lining up because they don't want to be like "yeah sure! line up!" then a bunch of people unknowingly get infected with COVID-19. I just hope everyone is smart, wears a mask, washes their freaking hands, and stays 6 feet away from each other. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook cucuchu ✭ September 2020 AntzC said: I tried calling my local store but it just routes to corporate. Ughh Lmao...he's obviously saying this bs so less people show up.  I think ya'll are way overestimating how many cards MC will have. They might be lucky to get 20-30.  Were any of you around for the 10 or 20 series releases? Launch day stock was insanely small and they sold out INSTANTLY. Even if NVIDIA opted for the "better" Samsung process for their chips to get more reliable yields, that doesn't magically mean hundreds are going to be available day one.  I think a lot of you are going to be leaving empty handed at this rate. Stock on launch day is always ultra-limited and there's nothing you, or they, can do about it.  Imagine believing its the yield rate and not Nvidia artificially limiting initial stock, inflating demand to drive margins up.. 1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook sgreen ✭ September 2020 Chaosblader said: Anyone want to link up at the Madison Heights location? There was a line of about 30 people, outside. However, we must take into consideration that this cpu was released on a Sunday and pre-Covid era. The world was different, no restrictions or regulations, no fears of a supposed pandemic, etc. I expect there to be a good turn out, but perhaps the current crisis and the fact that it's also releasing during a weekday will "lessen" the craziness. Of course I may be wrong and we show up and there's a snake line wrapping around the building but I highly doubt it. yes the OC is densely populated, but this isn't anticipated by the masses at like a ps5 launch would, we have to remember PC gaming on the enthusiast level is a niche market, and those who are willing to drop $800 on a gpu are far and few, and very niche. This makes me a bit more optimistic that it won't be a total shit show. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook YoshiMoshi ✭✭ September 2020 elcid_777 said: Felicity said: I'm not really sure what to expect; I feel a lot of people will try for online fruitlessly, or wait for reviews that are more solid, so I can discount a good number of them. I would consider the 3090 overkill for most builds unless you have the budget or the specific need for it. So, what kind of budget did you have set for this build? Also, what monitor are you going to pair with it? What would be the advantages or benefits to gain from switching to a gaming monitor? Also with ps4 pro maxing out at 60Hz would a monitor with more than 60Hz be wasted money? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSMichaelB admin April 2020 The biggest advantage is less input lag/latency. LCD TV's were notorious for having awful input lag when compared to older CRT's & computer monitors. Luckily most modern TV's include Game Modes designed to reduce input lag substantially. RTing's has a fantastic article written up to explain input lag, as well as some benchmarks comparing different input lag between TV's & monitors: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/inputs/input-lag.  As for using a higher refresh rate monitor, there wouldn't be a benefit (yet). With the rumors of the PS5 supporting higher refresh rate gaming, it might come in handy in the future, especially if you find yourself jumping into PC gaming later on. DarthMaul555 ✭ November 2020 in Help Choosing Parts Hey guys. I'm brand new to pc gaming I've gamed all my life but never on pc and I'm ready. I have disposable income and instead of getting a ps5 right now I feel like it's the time to build a PC. Eventually I will buy a ps5 because I love gaining on my couch. So I want a pc that nots overkill but wont be irrelevant in let's say 4 years, i dont mind upgrading parts I know what I'm getting myself into. I'm not interested in playing Cod, pubg, valorent on 12k at 2663883fps. I want a rig that will let me play all the steam survival games like rust, ark, scum, 7days to day, this land is my land, survivalists, starboard, and mmos. I'm not a graphics snob but if the pc can give me at least ps4 graphics and frames I'm good. So I was looking at ryzen 5 3600, with a tomahawk 450, and a gtx1660 super I'm sure this enough for what I want but is it overkill? The build comes out to almost $900+. I'll be buying the parts all through out the holidays taking advantage of all the holiday sales. Please let me know and happy holidays 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Best Answers PotterPlays ✭ November 2020 Answer ✓ Good afternoon DarthMaul555, That build is solid.  However you may want to go for a 2070 / 2080 super.  That will give you better longevity.  Hope this helps.  Have a great day! 5 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin November 2020 Answer ✓ Hey @DarthMaul555 I found this helpful benchmarks video that shows off the performance of the 3600 and the 1660 Super Also, here's one that shows the 2070 Super for comparison FPS is important, but if your monitor can't show more than 60fps, the added frames won't do any good.  @PotterPlays is right though. You'll be able to keep the same performance for a longer time if you go with a higher tier GPU.  Hope this info helps! Let us know if you have more questions. 5 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Answers DarthMaul555 ✭ November 2020 I seen a bunch of these videos and they all show the same games and it's all the same ones everyone plays COD, fortnite, BF, CS, Apex. I dont play or plan on playing any of these game because I dont enjoy them. I enjoy taking it slow exploring, crafting. I play RPGs, mmos survival, crafting games. I dont know much about PCs but I would think that these 2nd tier games would be easier to run the pc build that I described. I'm trying to do a first build and just get a pc up and running. I'm not rich but I do have some money to spend and would not like the build to be more than $1500. I think $900 is a sweet spot considering I still have to get a monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, chair and desk. I know myself and will probably get the FPS bug once I have a pc and do not mind upgrading parts a year or 2 from now. Thanks guys! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin November 2020 In short, the PS4 gets 30 fps in Destiny 2, while on PC with these specs, you can expect around 80+ depending on your settings. You're definitely going to be able to get solid performance in many titles. However, I can't give you a direct expectation for the games you mentioned as I don't own them. 🤔 Yet. 😁 Some indie developers put out some pretty graphic-intensive games or in some cases, games that are not well optimized. If the other benchmarks aren't helpful to you, and you're still not sure what to buy, I'd be happy to talk it out further to help you in any way that I can! Another option for you is speaking with our associates in the store who are also very knowledgeable about GPUs and what kind of performance you can expect from them! I think your budget is great though! It is a sweet spot for price/performance. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook DarthMaul555 ✭ November 2020 edited November 2020 I just got back from my local microcenter and came out with a ryzen  3600 for 179 and a b550 asrock phantom for 89.99. I feel good about the purchase and now will be looking for a GPU. I have my mind set on the 1660 super but I'll take those other into account if I can find them on sale which is super unlikely rn 1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook DarthMaul555 ✭ November 2020 I have a gtx nvidia 1660 super in my cart for $265. Is that a good price? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin November 2020 edited November 2020 That would depend on the specific card. That would be on the higher end(price) of the cards that we sell. Here's a list of 1660 Supers that we carry. Currently, we're sold out. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook DarthMaul555 ✭ November 2020 Ok this brings me to a question I asked a employee helping me today. I noticed that there several different kinds of 1660 supers.....there is a msi, asus, TUF, nvidia, all at different prices.....I asked him what the difference was and he said nothing. Some cards say 1660 super vr ready and some dont. What's the difference? Is the difference big enough for me to look for a specific 1660 super model or should I just pull the trigger on any 1660 super? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin November 2020 Some don't have a difference. Others do. Some have more robust cooling options, others have higher boost clocks. Others have different power draw, size, etc. They are generally very similar or even the same in some cases. I'd recommend going for the highest clock speeds, at the cheapest price. You'll get more frames with higher clocks.  If it's close to the price of the next step up i.e. GTX 1660 Ti, I'd recommend going with the Ti instead. Again, availability is difficult right now... My biggest recommendation would be to find some benchmarks and then once you're happy with the one you find, buy it and be happy with it! There will always be a better card in the future, enjoy the deal you have now! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook DarthMaul555 ✭ November 2020 Thanks shark. Is there anything specific I should be looking for when buying storage and RAM? Also is 600w enough power for this build. This is what I have I choose these 3 parts because of the price tbh but if there is another brand you recommend please let me know 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin November 2020 With storage, I'd recommend a boot drive be M.2. The WD drive you've selected is a great option.  For RAM, anything at or above 3200MHz is what I'd recommend. Typically, I'd recommend a dual channel set. G.Skill, Corsair, and Crucial are the brands that I prefer. Here's an offering from G.Skill that's double the amount for a lower price than you listed. The Thermaltake 600W PSU that you listed would be a great fit for this build. If you're looking to upgrade your GPU in the future, perhaps to a 30 series, you may need to upgrade your PSU as well. (A 750W PSU is recommended). Main interest is to enjoy my off time from work playing upcoming games like Halo Infinite at best possible detail. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments Ian admin December 2021 Greetings. If you're looking to build / or buy a pre-built gaming PC, what is your intended budget? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Yingdong ✭✭ December 2021 edited December 2021 First of all, xbox series x is a console, which is completely not comparable to a gaming pc. Microsoft and Sony will pay hundreds of billions to game studios and force them optimize their games for fixed config consoles to the most extend, while gaming pc wouldn't have the same status as gaming pc have most likely different hardware components combinations. So that cause some games play really well on xbox compare to a fixed gaming pc some games don't. If you are only judging by hardware, gaming pc easily win as current consoles(xboxs/x/ps5) are still using zen 2 cpu and integrated graphics(in rdna structure), but it's the optimization that counts the most. Second, there are a lot of different hardware configurations that powerspec offers. If you get a top top $4000+ prebuilt with 5950x + 3080ti that surely going to outperform xbox series x in most, if not all games, but you aren't questioning about that, right? Daniel_01 ✭ December 2020 edited June 2021 in Peripherals I've narrowed my choice down to the Dell S2721dgf, The odyssey G7, and the Asus Tuf VG27aql1a. What would be the best to go with??? I keep going back forth. I have also heard mixed things about the G7, and hardly anything about the VG27aql1a. Any help would be great! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TS_EmileC admin December 2020 Hey Daniel_01! Ideally, they are all great choices. I've heard really good things regarding the Asus Tuf monitor. I actually bought it for a family member for Christmas this year for their PS5! With the support of both G-Sync and FreeSync, any AMD or Nvidia GPU would perform outstanding. The Samsung G7 has had it's issues with the backlight flickering when having the VRR enabled since it's release and for the cost the HDR was less than expected so I wouldn't go for the G7 just yet. If it were me, I would choose between the Dell and Asus model as they are almost identical in terms of price (You could get two for the price of one g7)  and performance. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin December 2020 @Daniel_01 I'd agree with @TS_EmileC and his recommendations. I currently own the ASUS VG27AQ 27" WQHD 165Hz and Dell S2716DG 27" WQHD 144Hz which are very similar to the models you've listed. I'd recommend the ASUS over the dell if you're system can actually put out above 144 FPS. ELMB Sync really makes a difference! Otherwise, they are very similar in performance and it will come down to personal preference as they are two different panels and will reproduce colors slightly differently. Hope this helps!
