I hear that they won't be LHR. I kind of want one just so I can recoup my spending by mining when I'm not gaming. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTDavey admin June 1 @PetaFajita just chiming in. No information yet on if we'll have the FE models. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Stitchless ✭ June 2 I don't have the any source, but I thought that only Best Buy would carry the founders addition. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Dryloch ✭ June 2 The thing we really want to know is are the rumors true that the non Founders cards are going to cost $2,000 or more. I think the answer is no, but please let us know tomorrow before we wait all night and end up walking away from an absurdly priced card. I would rather buy from Microcenter than the Big Yellow store but I know they will have founders for $1,199. We deserve to know the price ranges for the cards you will have before we wait all night. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Justin_Exploring ✭ June 2 Anyone else camping out the Saint Davids location? Is Micro Center going to be charging fair market rate or are they going to be charging MSRP for the third party cards? Also, is there any idea of about how many cards will be available? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin June 2 https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/comment/33086#Comment_33086 I wish that I had an answer to give you ahead of time! Sadly, the pricing for partner cards is still under NDA, and I don't know the amount that they will cost. I would expect it to be similarly priced, but that is just a guestimate. I'm making this guess based on the cost of the 3090 and the listed price of the FE cards in the article above. Q) How much do the 3080 Ti & 3070 Ti video cards cost? A) Up-to-date pricing for our cards will be posted on the website once they’re available. As soon as we're able to share the price, we'll update our site with this information! Please keep a close eye on our website! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin June 2 https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/comment/33097#Comment_33097 We're expecting to have stock of both the 3080 ti and 3070 ti on their respective launch dates, however, we aren't certain of the specific quantity. We've been getting fairly regular shipments of several GPUs from both NVIDIA and AMD at this point. 1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Dryloch ✭ June 2 edited June 2 Pricing being under NDA the day before the sale is ridiculous for the AIBs to be dictating. I would think Microcenter would have enough pull to demand a more reasonable NDA period. These AIBs are running things like the Wild West now and the consumers need somebody to stand up to them and say enough! If the AIBs are afraid to tell us how much they are going to charge then maybe they are gouging too much. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook rishiMukherjee ✭ June 2 I bought a 3080 pre-build from micro center last weekend. Can I get the 3080 Ti instead and return 3080?  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin June 2 edited June 2 https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/comment/33111#Comment_33111 We can't return individual components out of pre-builts, however if the early reviews that are going up are anything to go buy, you're really not losing much performance anyway. The price increase of a 3080ti vs a 3080 is definitely not worth the minor performance increase in comparison. https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/comment/33109#Comment_33109 I think the NDAs are mostly dictated by NVIDIA, but I don't really know how that whole process works. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSMichaelB admin June 2 https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/comment/33111#Comment_33111 Unfortunately not. We are not able to take components that were sold in a pre-built unit as exchanges for upgrade components. If you are looking to upgrade the RTX 3080, you can definitely explore purchasing a 3080 Ti to perform that upgrade though I would strongly recommend waiting for benchmarks to see if the performance difference warrants the price of the upgrade. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook HammerHead444 ✭ June 2 What are the chances of getting a 3070ti off of best buy right after release? My mom was gonna let me use her credit card and I was gonna stay up and try and get one for the computer I just built from parts at micro center. This morning they had 72 cards and I was #43 in line. I think going the afternoon before is a good target. Definitely don't expect to show up after Midnight and get a card. By Midnight there were more than 72 on the list. Also... the difference in price was big. The people at the end had to either pay $2,000 or leave. The first 40 or so paid $1,400 for almost the same quality card. I ended up paying 80 more because of my place in line but I can live with that. The less you care about the price the later you can go basically. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Leesanction ✭ June 6 edited June 6 Anyone care to tell me their experience going to Micro Center in Westburry Ny long Island for the 3080ti launch? Can anybody share insight about how the launch was for the 3080ti? I would have to miss a half day of work to attempt to buy a card, but if they’re disorganized or anything like the Dallas location 3080ti launch I won’t even bother going there. You guys should YouTube it, I’m surprised people weren’t hurt. They should be doing it like the Ohio location, a list and constantly checking every hour or so to keep it fair and organized. Wow Dallas was the most unprofessional thing I have seen, looked like a scene in a movie. anybody with Houston insight I’d appreciate it thank you 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TheFamousChrisA ✭ June 8 I am curious how much the 3070 Ti will be if they were upcharging the 3080 Ti to almost $2,000 for people later in line. I've never heard of places charging more the later in line you are, but if I need to get to the Weston, Illinois location store at 4pm the day before I am fine with that. If there is a voucher or a way to make sure they keep my place in line I can camp outside in a lawn chair or wait in my car for a full day. I have no clue if Best Buy is going to do a 3070 Ti in-store launch like they did the 3080 Ti (which sucks because they did it at a store in Madison where I live and I had no clue about it, though $1,200 for a GPU is still ridiculous when I don't need basically a 3090). Any insight into how much money to bring and what time to get there the day before? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Ian admin June 8 edited June 8 https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/comment/33272#Comment_33272 I am sorry, we do not have pricing on yet to release items, and it will vary by model. I don't know how many people will be waiting in the afternoon here because of how hot it is outside (I spoke to someone at the Westmont store who redirected me to this website who said he spoke to another MC store that had people already lining up at 1pm TODAY), but at night I could see people starting to show up and wait in line. The problem is 2 1/2 hour drive just to see how many people are already waiting is kind of a nightmare. I guess I'll figure it out at the last minute whether I want to go or try the EVGA elite membership queue system in the morning (friend said he did this for the 3080 Ti and got an email for two of their products that same day by signing up early enough, so that might be a reasonable alternative). If there's anyone in the WI or Illinois area wanting to wait with me at a MC location add me on Discord Hrethgir#7798, it's easier to go with someone else rather than alone. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook GrimeCreeper ✭ June 9 Anybody have a general idea on when to arrive to the store in order to secure a 3070 ti? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook IOERSdj ✭ June 10 I've heard something about a raffle online queue is this true? 1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Titan363 ✭ June 10 This has got to be the most ridiculous money grabbing way to handle these sales. Not to mention totally contradictory to the social distancing stance of the previous year. And it is completely beyond me how anyone can consider this in any notion to be an" increase in fairness", or a" promotion of safe shopping" ---------------" We’re using vouchers to increase fairness and promote a safe shopping experience to our customers while shopping for products with limited product/availability."---------------. The safest and most fair way would have been to allow a week long online and instore registry and the then use a random number generator to draw a lottery. No risk of violence, robbery, or accidental injuries. No super stressed out hurry up/no wait for 12 hours. I mean I am assuming each store would be receiving no more than 100 cards. The whole deal sucks. It's not going to be any better anytime soon. Remember Atari burying 700,000 , Atari 2600's and game cartridge's in the desert, it was thought at the time that it was to create a shortage drive the price back up . More likely was for tax loss purposes. The claims that the up cost is do to corvid shortages is 40% bullshit. Some of it is and that shortage has been caught up by this point, as much as they want it to be anyway. Consider that most of the pacific and Asian countries are big players in that arena, South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, and of course China. And most of the labor is automated with 40-60% of the labor being human and at the back end of production. As for the cards, you have the recent crypto currency expansion eating up the High middle end cards, every greedy company that touches them has increased their profit margins substantially, I dont mean covering their increased cost, that is always passed along, most every hand that has touched the products has taken their increased cost, and doubled that and passed it along. And don't forget Trump. Add 25% to the cost of each card that enters USA from China, and surprise, CHINA DOESN'T PAY ANY OF THAT, the receiver does, dont believe me, just look at your Ebay distributers, each has a customs fees disclaimer. OK, rant over, I hope all of you that goes the distance gets a great reward with an awesome new card. I'm mad at Micro Center right now, but you know if they could get every one of us a new card and even at a discount, they for sure would. I'm sure of it. I have never had a bad experience with even one of their employees. Every one I've ever dealt with has been just genuinely awesome and wanting to " Go a head, and MAKE MY DAY". lol Be careful out their guys and gals. 1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook MJG26 ✭ June 10 edited June 10 Next time, hand out numbers, have an employee stay over to hand them out and pay them extra to do so. Manager would be best. 1 through whatever. Hell, use those Deli tickets. Store opens, call in 15 people at a time, go in order. Someone with a ticket doesn't show to get their voucher? Skip em. Their loss. Prevents people trying to sneak through or skip, and keeps things a little more orderly. Group of people showed up before us, there's like twice as many people within that group now. They're all talking about reselling the cards, so that's cool 1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TheFamousChrisA ✭ June 10 edited June 10 Titan363, the best part is that I tried calling the Westmont, Illinois store and the guy really sounded like he didn't want to talk to me at all. I asked if they were doing Vouchers the night before so people didn't have to wait out in the heat overnight for 15 hours and he just directed me to this website and was like "I don't know what we're doing, maybe." I was very polite but in my head thinking "great, so I could drive 2 1/2 hours because there's no MC in Wisconsin (thanks MC for having two stores within 30 mins of each other in Chicago but not a single one near Madison or Milwaukee) show up and there could be a line of 50 people already or there could be nobody because guy won't give me any information, just wants to get me off the phone, and won't tell me if it's worth it to try by making it easier with vouchers or chalk outlines or something. I'm old I have to pee every few hours now", so yeah I ended up not going simply based on that phone call and don't know if I'll ever end up going to Micro Center just with how far away it is. People always tell me how great this store chain is but every interaction I have as someone not living near one just feels like a huge pain and not worth the hassle. I am 100% sure I will never get a graphics card from MC because they are too far away and people who live 20 minutes away can get there in line in the morning so much easier. I'm sure their employees are great kind people, but had I gone last night I would've needed to leave by at least 3-4pm in the afternoon since it's over a 2 hour drive away.. and I would still be waiting there right now because it's only 6:21am and they open at 10am. The guy on the phone telling me people had been lining up at 1pm at other MC stores he spoke to plus the 92+ degree heat outside discouraged me from sitting overnight in front of their store for 15+ hours for a guaranteed non-scalped gpu. I hope whoever did it for one is able to get one at least. Ok, rant is also over. "Next time, hand out numbers, have an employee stay over to hand them out and pay them extra to do so. They're all talking about reselling the cards, so that's cool" Holy sh**, I would be absolutely furious at these money grubbers and MC if that happened after waiting all night in the humid conditions here in WI/Illinois. That is the nicest thing I will say right now when it comes to that, scalpers can absolutely burn. Not sure I would let that sh** fly if they were skipping in line. People will get pissy if it's a line for something smaller/different, let alone gpu's you can't get anywhere. Tell anyone who wasn't there with the group first to F off and go to the back, don't let them screw you over. It's frustrating because I have heard from friends that some MC's do overnight vouchers if you show up to the store before they close the night before, then you can show up the next morning and be good instead of waiting outside all damn night like an idiot, but seems this is dependent on each store and from what I've read here some stores are very disorganized and have no system whatosever, it's just a free for all. Say what you will about Gamestop I do miss their midnight releases, having some employees there overnight/late at night to release (met some nice people for the WoW Cataclysm launch back in the day) was fun, and then you weren't waiting until 10am to get something new. Edit: Someone posted a picture they had at a micro center store's front door.. QR codes for people to scan on their phone for vouchers between 9-9:30am. Not sure which store this was but it's completely random, so anyone there between that time can scan the QR code and it doesn't matter if you've been waiting all night, it's a lottery system. People at home with their phones can scan the QR code on their phone and not even need to be there! Complete and utter BS system. Wish stores near me would just say what system they are going to use instead of praying it's not this BS. (Turns out it was in Denver) If I had been waiting since 7pm the previous night for the store to open 10am the next day, and then they did a random RNG voucher system for people who showed up the next morning, I would lose my mind. No clue what systems they use in the Illinois area. 1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Buildo_Fraggins "North Tustin" ✭ June 10 edited June 10 Tustin patron here from the 3070 ti launch raffle and I’m here to report that me and everybody I asked who had Verizon as their cell provider never received a single text message. Three days later they had the exact same card for $729. I was kind of mad about that but was glad I was able to even get a card. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook CindyH ✭ June 11 edited June 11 Why are my replies being deleted? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook CindyH ✭ June 11 https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/comment/33469#Comment_33469 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook DreadPirateRoberts ✭ June 15 edited June 15 Your post doesn't make sense to me, but congrats on getting a card! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook JwPibunny ✭ June 16 I was just looking at the graphics cards online just to look at the prices and I was wondering why the prices are very much above the MSRP. For example, on other retailers, I can buy a ASUS TUF RTX 3070ti for $599 but at Micro Center, the price is $949. Any explanation for why? I thought that Micro Center sold cards at MSRP. Thanks! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTDavey admin June 16 @JwPibunny just chiming in. The MSRP cost depends on the card. A regular RTX 3070 TI will go for $599, but a RTX 3070 TI Gaming X Trio Triple Fan 8GB card's MSRP will go for $959. It depends on which version of the 3070 TI that is being sold. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook JwPibunny ✭ June 16 @TSTDavey, thank you. But, the ASUS TUF RTX 3070ti that I was looking at costs $599 but on Micro Center’s website is listed as $949. I also noticed other large price raises above the price of that card specifically of other RTX 3000 series cards. Thanks! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook «12» Leave a Comment Rich Text Editor. And if you're looking to pick one up, we've put together a build to help you get the most out of all the power the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti delivers! We've laid out a powerful build with as many white components as we could cram into it, creating a stylish powerhouse worthy of the GeForce 3080 Ti. Processor: Intel Core i9-11900k A flagship graphics card deserves a flagship processor and for our build, that's the i9-11900k. The 11900k is prepared to handle anything you throw at it, from high-end gaming to photo and video editing with power to spare. Alternate: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - AMD's own 9 core processor, delivering comparable specs under the AMD brand. Note: the selected motherboard for this build is not compatible with an AMD processor. Motherboard: Gigabyte Z590 VISION G Intel LGA 1200 ATX Motherboard The Gigabyte Z590 VISION G is closer to a mid-range board than a high-end, but it oozes style. With a mashup of white, silver, and black coloring with a splash of blues and purples, the VISION G is our board for a stylish powerhouse. Plus, it comes equipped with four m.2 slots, multiple PCIe x16 slots, and HD audio. Alternate: ASUS X570-Pro Prime AMD AM4 ATX Motherboard - To complement the alternative AMD processor, we picked out a similarly stylish AMD motherboard, even adding in a splash of RGB. Graphics Card: Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti VISION Overclocked Triple-Fan 12GB GDDR6X PCIe 4.0 Graphics Card The pièce de résistance of our stylish powerhouse is, of course, the brand new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. Specifically, Gigabyte's VISION edition which matches flawlessly with our motherboard. The brand new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti delivers 1.5x the speed of the last generation GPUs and brings with it incredible ray tracing technology and DLSS AI Rendering on top of everything else NVIDIA GPUs can do, including NVIDIA Broadcast, and NVIDIA Reflex. Processor Cooling: Corsair iCUE H510i ELITE CAPELLIX360mm RGB Water Cooling Kit - White Whether you're building with an i9 Intel or Ryzen 9 AMD, your processor is going to be giving off a lot of heat. And nothing beats a big water cooler to keep your temperatures low. The Corsair H510i is more than equipped to handle all the heat you can throw at it, and handle it in style with a white radiator and three RGB -infused fans. Alternate: NZXT Kraken Z73 360mm CPU Water Cooling Kit w/ LCD Display - Sure, it might not match the aesthetic of the build, but adding an LCD display onto the pump cap, allowing you to monitor temps just by glancing at your case. Or, you're favorite GIF if you're so inclined. RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 RAM 16GB might not seem like that much RAM for a powerhouse build, but it'll be plenty for most things you want to do with it, including gaming and video editing. But, if you do want more, you'll still have 2 available slots to cram in an additional 16GB of RAM. And did we mention the RGB? Alternate: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 RAM - Worried that 16GB of RAM isn't going to cut it? This'll double that to 32GB and leave space for an additional 32 more gigs of RAM to be added. Hard Drives: 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB - M.2 NVMe (For OS) and Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD SATA III & Seagate BarraCuda 4TB 5400 RPM SATA II HDD (For everything else) We're putting incremental hard drives in this monster. You've got your 1TB 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVMe drive for your OS as well as any other major-use programs, a 2TB 870 EVO SSD for your frequently played games, and a standard 4TB Seagate BarraCuda for every other thing you need on your computer. Tons of storage, ranging from blazing fast to just plain speedy. Alternative: Inland Platinum 4TB SSD M.2 NVMe - 4TB of blazing-fast storage, all on one single M.2 NVMe drive is stellar, but it comes at a price. Power Supply: Corsair RM750 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX Fully Modular Power Supply 750 watts of power with an 80 Plus Gold rating means your new powerhouse will run smoothly and efficiently. But, perhaps more importantly, it's fully modular, meaning you won't have a bunch of extraneous cables getting in the way of all that glorious white and RGB. Alternate: Anything Modular - rather than pick out a specific power supply alternative, I'll just recommend anything with sufficient power and fully modular. Keep your case clean! Case: Lian Li Lancool II Tempered Glass eATX Full Tower Computer Case - White Ultimately, your case is up to you. We went with the White Liancool II Tempered Glass case for the aesthetic. Easy-open doors on both sides of the case, RGB strips in the front, and tons of room for your big AIO water cooler are exactly what we're looking for. Alternate: Whatever case that can fit your components! - Cases are perhaps the most subjective part of any PC build, taking into account both space and personal taste. So head to your local Micro Center, bring a tape measure, and check out our floor models! The specs of the 3080 Ti puts it closer to the RTX 3090 than the RTX 3080, though with half of the 3090’s VRAM, dropping to 12GBs in the RTX 3080 Ti. This drop-in VRAM doesn’t stop the 3080 Ti from delivering a beast performance in our benchmarks, though! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSPhillipT admin June 10 edited June 10 Recommendation and Test Bench We will be using a similar test bench to the one we used for our 11700K Review and Benchmark, For our test bench, we’re using an open-air system with the following specs Intel 11700k ASUS P-Prime Z590 G.Skill Trident Z 32GB Ram ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti ROG Strix Inland Premium 1TB SSD Lian Li Galahad 240mm We have an article if you are interested in another build that features the 3080 Ti as well.  This build is an all white build using the Gigabyte 3080 TI VISION as the center-piece.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSPhillipT admin June 10 Benchmarks No changes were made to the 3080 Ti, as we want to provide the most out-of-the-box performance for these benchmarks.  All games were set to their highest graphical settings without motion blur.  MSI Afterburner was used as our benchmarking tool when going through in-game benchmarks.  DLSS was not used for any games.     Hitman 2 is our first game, and we hit a cap at around 135 frames at both 1080p and 1440p due to a CPU Bottleneck.  105 FPS at 4k is more than enough for 4k 60FPS gaming and shows how great this card is for 4k gaming.  The consistent 1% lows at all resolutions are likely caused by the game benchmark or engine. These lows were not visible outside of benchmark transitions. Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 7.33ms | 1440p; 7.37ms | 4k; 9.51ms Civilization VI is not the most demanding of games and here we can see that we are CPU bottlenecked at all resolutions, even at 4K!  Average FPS sat at an outstanding 188 FPS at all resolutions, with minor differences that are within the margin of error.  The game menus force a 60 FPS cap once the benchmark has ended. This is why we see this incredibly consistent 1% low across all resolutions.  Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 5.31ms | 1440p; 5.35ms | 4k; 5.26ms Borderlands 3 showed some of the most significant differences between 1080p and 4k in our benchmarks.  However, it is still hitting at least 60 FPS on its 1% low, which is excellent as 4K 60FPS is the target we want to hit when all the settings are set to the highest possible. 1080p 144FPS is also great with all the settings at max as this game can be pretty demanding.   Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 6.93ms | 1440p; 8.33ms | 4k; 14.68ms F1 2020 shows us a pretty standard graph when it comes to benchmarking.  FPS goes down in both average and 1% lows while resolution goes up.  With the crazy numbers shown here, we can look at 4k 120-144FPS gaming or even 1080-1440p 240FPS.  This card is a beast, and the big numbers here are proof of its dominance.   Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 4.02ms | 1440p; 4.31ms | 4k; 5.57ms Horizon Zero Dawn is another game displaying a fairly expected graph when it comes to benchmarking, and one of the more demanding games we benchmarked as well.  Horizon Zero Dawn is a visually immersive and taxing title that the 3080 Ti makes quick work of showing how it can easily handle this game at all resolutions while still managing an impressively high average FPS.   Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 6.25ms | 1440p; 7.04ms | 4k; 11.06ms The last benchmark we ran was a game optimized explicitly for ESports; Rainbow 6 Siege.  ESports titles aren’t the most demanding of games as they want to work in as many systems as possible, so it’s common to see FPS in the 300s in these games.  I was surprised to see high 300s and even 400+ FPS at 1080.  It shows the power of the 3080 Ti on titles like these, which is great for the crowd that plays ESports titles at 1080p 300FPS.  1% Lows remain consistent at 1080p and 1440p and go down at 4k, but still remain in the 200s, which is fantastic.    Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 2.44ms | 1440p; 2.59ms | 4k; 3.79ms 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSPhillipT admin June 10 edited July 13 Conclusion NVIDIA’s GeForce 3080 Ti is a beast of a GPU that gets to 60FPS at 4k in one of the most demanding games, Borderlands 3, making this card one of the best around.  Its performance within esports titles like Rainbow 6 Siege is nothing to scoff at, pulling an average of 409 FPS.  Those new 1080p 300+Hz monitors can easily be paired for those wanting every frame of advantage in their esports titles.   If you are looking to get yourself a 3080 Ti or any other graphics card from us, please visit our Random Selection Process and FAQ for more information! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Ian admin June 11 Looks like a great performing card! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Leave a Comment Rich Text Editor. NotABear ✭ July 4 edited July 6 in General Discussion I have a gigabyte gaming 3080ti paired with a 3700x at a stable 4.2 GHz. Playing games in 1440p (most recently Hell Let Loose, which yes is poorly optimized) I've been running into low fps around the high 50's to low 70's on some other games like far cry 5. Running 32gb of ram and all games on SSD's. Depending on which game GPU utilization hovers around 80-90% while CPU is not even at 50% utilization. Are there some bios/Nvidia Experience tweaks I can make or is a CPU upgrade in my future? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Answers TS_JosephF admin July 4 https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/8841/3080-ti-bottleneck Have you already tried a clean install of the GPU drivers? That is where I would start. Even if your drivers are all up to date, a clean install of the drivers can certainly help. Also, if your CPU does not exceed 50% usage then a CPU upgrade may not be necessary. how do your temps look after playing for a good 30 mins? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook NotABear ✭ July 5 https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/comment/34137#Comment_34137 Temps are so far in check. Running a front mounted h115i for my intake, but some lack luster exhaust fans that I plan on upgrading soon. CPU hovers around 60 C under gaming load. GPU under load maxes out low 80's, highest I've seen is 85 but nothing past that. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSPhillipT admin July 5 Hello, The 3080Ti is one of the best cards at the moment and I would be surprised to see it bottlenecked before the processor on most games at this moment. Have you ran any benchmarks to see how you compare to others with the same build? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook NotABear ✭ July 6 https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/comment/34141#Comment_34141 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ui8etFmOWk&t=160s Since I mentioned Hell Let Loose in my OP. In this video the system specs are almost identical. Only major difference is MOBO, x370 on mine compared to a x570. I wouldn't think that would make a difference at all right? Only other difference is my memory is CL 18 VS. 16. I've read having two different monitors at different resolutiuons can sometimes mess with GPU's? I had a vega 56 card before, so all the Nvidia control panel stuff is a little daunting but I read you can get some pretty nice FPS gains. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Ian admin July 6 I would give a clean install of your video card drivers a try to see if that helps if you have not done that already, here is a step by step guide on how to do this: https://community.microcenter.com/kb/articles/133-how-to-clean-install-video-card-drivers-in-windows-10  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin July 6 I'd definitely recommend starting with the clean install of video card drivers. Especially if you're going from a completely different GPU, it's best to uninstall the old drivers and then install the new drivers fresh. this may cause your system to have some issues with FPS output. Typically multiple monitors will not have an adverse effect on your GPU performance. However, it's possible that you may have some V-Sync settings may be enabled to cap your frame rate to match your monitor's refresh rate. I'm surprised to see that temp loads are peaking at 85. Are you able to see what your Thermal Memory Junction temps are? As @Ian mentioned, it's best to perform a clean install of GPU drivers as this corrects the majority of problems. Let us know if this works for you! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook NotABear ✭ July 7 edited July 7 https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/comment/34156#Comment_34156 Last night I did a clean install for nvida drivers and just used DDU for my old AMD drivers, so we'll see how gaming performance goes shortly. As for temps the card is still idling at around 60 C with clocks fluctuating between 500-200 MHz, with spikes up to 1700 MHz, same behavior with the memory clock. Not sure how to check Thermal junction temps. Edit: Frames and temps are still consistent, temps are a little lower which is good I suppose. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook LandShark admin July 7 I'd recommend HWinfo https://www.hwinfo.com/download/ It has a more granular sensor listing. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSMikeW admin July 8 @NotABear If your CPU was bottlenecking you, it would be maxed at 100% while playing the game, while the GPU was lower. But it may be taking advantage of all your CPU cores. Your usage looks normal, and this game is poorly optimized and pretty well known for this. I'd try this switch from launch options in Steam: -dx12 -useallavailablecores Last I checked when I was playing this game, this potentially had issues with the Foy map, but it has been a while. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook NotABear ✭ July 9 To anyone following, ordered some Noctua fans and RMA'd my card. Each store has different systems set in place for the releases and stock, such as a voucher system. Sometimes, we have people camping out daily for these cards and once we get some in, they are sold out immediately to those people or whoever is next in line in the voucher system. We don't expect to have consistent stock until mid January. Until then, we cannot list stock information for these on our website. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Geo ✭ November 2020 Fair enough  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Sign In or Register to comment. TWELVE. How do you mess that up that much? I understand limited supply and an increased demand. But TWELVE?!  I can understand the frustration. I wish it were as simple as being able to buy more cards from the vendor to better stock our stores, however any time we see a new process node (die shrink) for hardware, we typically see lower yield rates at first, causing a shortage of supply. If the manufacturers cannot physically produce enough product, it limits the amount of cards we can effectively purchase for our store inventory. Factor this in with the tech industry trying to source the same hardware worldwide, and you have a pretty solid recipe for a shortage. For now, the best we can do is provide a fair share of inventory to each of our retail stores and give everyone an equal opportunity to secure a card. It's also worth noting that online retailers were hit pretty hard with bots that were buying up the supplies as well, which is partially why we kept everything as first come, first serve. With that said, you can rest assured that we will be doing our best to order more cards so that everyone can eventually get their hands on the new RTX 3000 series. It may take some time for everyone to get the card they want, but it will eventually happen. In the meantime, take advantage of this opportunity by looking at third party reviews of each model of card to better narrow down your decisions on which model of the card you want. Remember to factor in VBIOS/PCB power limits if you plan on overclocking, PCB layout if you plan to buy a water block and thermal/acoustic performance if you care about silence.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook ToastBoy ✭ September 2020 Appreciate it TSMike -- you guys are doing the right thing, for sure!! I don't believe there is a notification system in place, though I'll inquire to see if such a system can be implemented. For now, my best recommendations would be to add the specific product pages to your favorites (or the following link, if you want to see all available RTX 3000 cards as a whole): https://www.microcenter.com/search/search_results.aspx?Ntk=all&sortby=match&N=4294966937+4294808776&myStore=false I'd also recommend making sure you are subscribed to our emails, as it's possible they may send out emails in regards to this product launch and the availability of the RTX 3000 series in general, especially if we start carrying new models. You can adjust your email notification settings here: https://microcenterinsider.com/pub/sf/ResponseForm?_ri_=X0Gzc2X=YQpglLjHJlTQGghNPnvyI3AMpzdX7zdATq3sgwr2sYWUDaVXMtX=YQpglLjHJlTQGoPjl1aYUBLJiwzg1gRl4yyPfEqzbzaSfnza&_ei_=Etna52KgJplwhKMdQbhEXcU Make sure your ZIP code is listed as that will allow you to receive news local to your specific Micro Center store, and make sure the actual notifications themselves are enabled. Lastly, keep an eye on our FAQ page on the forum and our social media as I am certain we will be keeping people up to date on any news & information surrounding this launch and the product availability in general. ToastBoy said: Appreciate it TSMike -- you guys are doing the right thing, for sure!! I'm just a little annoyed with the rollout by NVidia. Hey, we appreciate you guys as well. I am confident once the supply issues are addressed, everyone will be satisfied with the GPU's themselves, as they've put up some seriously impressive numbers, which have no doubt inflated this supply demand in general. I personally will be waiting quite a while before I jump on the RTX 3000 series bandwagon, as I have a custom build theme planned, but need to wait for Watercool to update the Heatkiller series to support the RTX 3000 reference PCB. That and buying a home means I can't spend as much money on the toys I want, which means the RTX 3090 will probably be a Christmas gift to myself, lol. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Sign In or Register to comment. For our test bench, we used the AMD Ryzen 5950X as our processor to ensure there were no GPU bottlenecks.  For RAM, we had 16GB of G.Skill RAM set to 3200MHz.  The model of the 3060 Ti we used was the ASUS Tuf 3060 Ti.  Everything was set on an open air test bench.  You can find the parts list for the test bench here. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSPhillipT admin December 2020 edited December 2020 Benchmarks No changes were made to the 3060 Ti. We wanted to provide results akin to opening a box and putting the card into your system.  All games were set to their highest graphical settings, excluding motion blur.  We ran the benchmarks for the various games multiple times, and the data shown are the averages of all runs done.  Benchmarking was done using the MSI Afterburner benchmarking tool to log the information. GTA was a bizarre game to benchmark, encountering weird stutters during some of the benchmarking at 1080p and crashes randomly throughout 1080p and 1440p testing.  Ended up running this on DirectX10 rather than DirectX11 as 11 was causing a lot of the issues.  The 1080p 1% Low was consistently low throughout all the benchmarking.  The 1440p 1% Low had high variance, going from 6-55.4 FPS.  The most surprising part was the 4K benchmark, delivering consistent 80FPS for the 1% Low, and experienced no crashes or stutters.  One thing to note is the CPU Bottleneck at 1080p and 1440p, and 4k would be the recommended resolution to be aiming for.   Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 5.36ms | 1440p; 5.31ms | 4k; 7.25ms  Hitman 2 was a more standard benchmark with expected results based on previous benchmarks.  High framerates at all resolutions and still acceptable frame rate at 4k 60FPS.  The 1% Low for 1080p and 1440p is consistent with previous benchmarks. We attribute the similarity to the game engine.   Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 7.56ms | 1440p; 9.37ms | 4k; 17.01ms  Average FPS was excellent, which makes the 3060Ti great at all resolutions to use.  Seeing a consistent 1%, Low was weird and couldn’t reproduce this on another test bench with a different GPU.  This is great to ensure that, at the minimum, you see 60FPS.   Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 6.16ms | 1440p; 7.39ms | 4k; 10.51ms  Horizon Zero Dawn is the most standard of results for our benchmarks.  Lower resolution for more frames at both average and 1% Low.  Also, in the most demanding game that we benched, everything looked great at 1080p and 1440p.  This game did stutter a bit at 4K and probably would be pushing the limit at 4k 60FPS gaming.   Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 8.67ms | 1440p; 10.85ms | 4k; 18.89ms  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSPhillipT admin December 2020 edited July 13 Conclusions For MSRP $400, this graphics card is pretty good value.  Excelling at 1440p and is completely playable at 4K, this GPU will help usher in the 1440p resolution.  This is performing as expected, with just slightly worse performance than the 3070 for 100$ less, putting this card as one of the leaders at the Mid-Range price range.  Due to the low supply and the 3000 series GPUs' high demand, this card is a great fallback card if you cannot find the higher end cards.  If you are looking to get yourself a 3060 Ti or any other graphics card from us, please visit our Random Selection Process and FAQ for more information! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Leave a Comment Rich Text Editor. Use the link below, download and install your chipset drivers ("intel Chipset Drivers). Just click on the down arrow and execute the installation file, follow the installation wizard instructions. Once its installed, then test your system, watch YouTube or try to get the monitors to give you no signal. Basically try to replicate your issue after the chipset driver. Don't worry about how the graphic card is performing, you are just testing how your system is functioning after the chipset driver update. Launch a game as well. :Click on System & Chipset Drivers https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MEG-Z390-ACE#down-driver&Win10%2064 If you are able to replicate the issue, then try updating the bios. Read these instructions first on how to update your bios. You'll need a usb thumb drive as well. https://us.msi.com/support/technical_details/MB_BIOS_Update Once you are done reading the instructions and understand how to update your bios. then click on the down arrow for version 7B12v1A and save it to USB. Finish out the BIOS update steps from the link. After this update, test your system again. Watch Youtube, launch a game, etc., to see if these updates have fixed anything. If not comfortable with following these steps or they do not work, bring your system to the store for our techs in the store to run a diagnostic on it. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Sign In or Register to comment. I've had a python script scraping your site for three weeks and never seen a thing because there are so many people sitting outside waiting online stock doesn't update before it's sold. Surely there are people thinking of creative ways to service and protect your customers through this.  1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook confusedoorknob Minnesota ✭ October 2020 Should i call them tomorrow when i wake up and when they're open and see if i can slide in there and sneak myself an asus tuf 3080 lol 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin October 2020 confusedoorknob said: Should i call them tomorrow when i wake up and when they're open and see if i can slide in there and sneak myself an asus tuf 3080 lol As much as I'd love for it to be that easy, it's not going to get you anywhere. When you call, it goes through our call center which is centralized in the corporate office and we don't know what availability really looks like at the stores. Plus, with everything I've heard the Tustin store always has people waiting in the morning to get a card so even if we did know exactly how many cards were there when you called, they're probably all claimed before you'd even get in your car and head over. And unfortunately it looks like supply isn't going to stabilize for a while considering how insanely high the demand still is.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Chupacabra ✭ November 2020 TSTonyV said: confusedoorknob said: Should i call them tomorrow when i wake up and when they're open and see if i can slide in there and sneak myself an asus tuf 3080 lol As much as I'd love for it to be that easy, it's not going to get you anywhere. We are currently sold out of this item at our Cambridge location, but I'd recommend checking our Limited Availability FAQ for more information about how we're handling these kinds of items. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Sign In or Register to comment. Firstly, my whole system specs are an i7-8700k (a slight bottleneck I know, but it shouldn't be making it perform significantly worse than my 2070 did), 32 gb DDR4-3200, and I'm running on 1440p 165 hz. My PSU while old, is still an 80+ bronze evga supernova 750w so it should do the trick. I made sure to install it an a PCIe x16 slot, I deleted the old drivers using DDU, (originally used Windows add remove programs, but after I installed the card and it was having issues I decided to really make sure) installed the new drivers through GeForce experience. DXdiag recognizes that I have a 3080, and so does every game. It idles at about 27c so I don't think its thermals, and I am getting no more than 10% usage in games. DXdiag also says the driver model for my second display is WDDM 2.6 if that helps at all. Any advice is appreciated, and if you need more information I will gladly give it.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments SZ03 ✭ September 2020 Either you haven’t optimised nvidia control panel settings to allow high performance and high power draw, or your games are using your igpu. Go to the game tab in windows settings and there should be an advanced options. Add your game to that list and set it to high performance. That should prioritise your gpu within the application  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook cucuchu ✭ September 2020 Which AIB is it? Might be an issue with your connection to PSU. Sounds like it could also be a driver issue. Keep us posted. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TeslaDev ✭ September 2020 edited September 2020 Also make sure you have two separate PCIE cables from the PSU to the GPU (don't use the single cable that splits to two connectors). 1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Vile ✭ September 2020 Since when is an 8700k a bottleneck? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSMikeW admin September 2020 Greetings, I would recommend downloading the Time Spy benchmark off Steam. Lets get some numbers to compare it to first. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook JmOverclock ✭ September 2020 You are not alone because there are reports on Nvidia forum, reddit etc..that the cards are having some issues. What everyone said above for troubleshooting advice but you probably already know that. Also with the PSU you need two seperate power connections and I recommend one from each power rail if the 80+ bronze is capable or you maybe starving the card. I would never buy a new GPU right out of the gate because you are likely to run into these very issues. It isn't time tested and proven and support is limited. I mean you can ask the bots. They may have an answer. This card is going to go through so many changes behind the scenes and I bet most people will end up with power hungry brick and it's a terrible investment considering there will most likely be a 20gb or Ti variant and you will be struggling to sell it. I waited 9 months before I upgraded my 1080ti to the 2080ti and today it's still going strong. Hopefully the issues get worked out for you.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Sign In or Register to comment. Howdy, Stranger! It looks like you're new here.
