My initial motivation for building this PC two years ago was the anticipated release of Microsoft Flight Simulator. I had been playing other simulators for many years before then and wanted an upgrade for the new intense game. I've been wanting an upgrade from my Dell Optiplex retrofitted with a GTX 1050 Ti for a while, but this pushed me to actually go ahead and do it. I still play Microsoft Flight Simulator to this day, but most of my time on this machine has shifted to software engineering and, incidentally, developing addons for the simulator. I am a computer science student and use this computer to compile Rust libraries, run simulations in Python, and develop websites. A year after getting this computer, I replaced the stock heat sink on my RTX 2080 Super with an NZXT Kraken, and it was totally worth it as I haven't had any problems with thermals since then and the computer is pretty darn quiet. The only upgrade that I see myself making in the foreseeable future is a kit of custom white cables along with a modular PSU to replace the horrendous ketchup and mustard powering the rig.

I built Ernie because my old PC could not handle everything I wanted to do. I know, sounds pretty generic. This was a huge build for me. I have lived my whole life using low end, or very old hand-me-down parts. I had built a brand new PC before but it was entry-level at best, and I was not smart and favored looks over performance. I learned my lesson and buckled down and saved every penny one summer. I was going to spare no expense. RGB and looks were low on the list, but still very important. I was going for a Storm Trooper theme PC, and I think that turned out. I wanted the maximum performance possible, fast storage, and lots of it. The latest graphics and features and the RTX 2080 Super from EVGA fit the bill nicely. I wanted the CPU to have at least 8 Cores, so it would excel at recording and streaming. I was originally looking for the PC O-11 Dynamic, but it required fans and water cooling looks sick in that case, but I don't plan to do a custom loop, anytime soon. The Fractal Design Meshify C, it has good thermals and even better looks. It is pretty small for an ATX chassis. The biggest reason I built Ernie, was so I could start doing Youtube, and Streaming. My old PC could not handle gaming and recording at the same time, and struggled to run most games at 1440p/60FPS. I am looking to upgrade my monitor to an LG UltraGear IPS 144hz QHD Monitor. I also am looking to upgrade the AMD Stock Cooler to a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4, because the stock cooler is super loud. I need to add more fans to further improve thermals, I am looking at some Corsair HD120's those look nice and perform well. If you read this far, Thank You, and maybe subscribe to my new YT Channel, QuackoOperator, I have already posted a video about this PC and I hope to continue to grow the channel and make some gaming content in the future. I want to make a series on F1 2020, maybe some Nascar Heat 5, and other racing games and shooter games such as COD: MW/Warzone.

I mainly use it for gaming but I plan on using it also for streaming on twitch.tv/thenamesfrosty. I mainly play Valorant, League of Legends, and Minecraft, but with the 2080 super, I plan on playing the latest triple A games on 1440p resolution. I also plan on using the system to work on CAD and work on 3D modeling and printing.

I bought all of the parts in the Westmost Microcenter. I built the PC mainly for gaming, and day to day use. Some examples of games I play are CS:GO, City Skylines, Warzone, and GTA. I feel like gaming really gives you a chance to connect with people who have the same hobbies and interests as you. Some upgrades I plan on doing in the future are some custom cables to go with my color scheme (Ones in my case right now were taken from another build), Vertical GPU Bracket, and probably upgrading components as they get outdated.

This is my main computer, I use it pretty much every day - almost exclusively for playing games. Everything from Runescape to Call of Duty Modern Warfare and hopefully Cyberpunk. This was the first computer I built that had built in RGB and tempered glass side panels. So I wanted to do something special to show off. I bought some 3M vinyl and tried my hand at wrapping some panels in the case. For my first time every using vinyl wrap, I think it turned out okay! The back cable mgmt panels were a little dicey - mostly because of their size and curvature, but they pass the 6ft test. The build was originally completed in mid-summer of 2019, and then I upgraded the GPU and RAM. Since then, I've upgraded the fans all around (Noctua NF A14s) and added some extra storage. As for future plans... I currently have a closet full of custom watercooling parts waiting to go into the build. I'm just waiting until NVIDIA releases their 30 series cards to pick up a 3080 TI and a custom water block.

I built it to handle the demanding AAA titles out now and future releases for a while as well as the ability to stream. My office is blue/stormtrooper themed so i put the aesthetics around that. This PC is capable of pretty much anything id ever ask it to do! I vertically mounted the GPU for the look of the shroud, and to take up the empty space in that section. Cable management for all of the fans and the lighting took much longer then i wanted but what came out was a clean system thats a showpiece as well as a high performing gaming system! I built the entire system using parts bought at the parkville location!
