This build was mostly an upgrade from a old build with the same case but basically upgrading all of the internals with new parts. Personally I love how the white part of it still looks even after all these years but the upgrade to having a small display for the CPU cooler makes it really nice and the perfect place to put some dumb little memes.

Initially, this project started out with me just wanting to recase my Omen 30L. Waltzed into MicroCenter for a new case and mobo which I got. But then everything else started coming into play since the case/mobo just wasn't enough. Foolishly I asked the BYOP team if they had any 4090s in stock and they did. They happened to have the ROG Strix 4090 I was looking for and, well, everything kinda went downhill after that. Next thing I know I'm choosing RAM, finding an optimal price for a PSU and then trying to source all the fans I wanted for the build. Whole process took a little over a month or so and lots and lots of $$$$. But, now that everything's complete and rig is working fine, I am a happy camper now.

I built this PC so I can edit 4K videos in Davinci Resolve. My youtube channel is RGZ Content Productions. I also started playing Apex Legends and am new to PC gaming. I was able to get the bundle with the Intel i7 12700k, MSI Pro Z690-A Wifi DDR4 motherboard, and the 16GB of ram. I upgraded the ram to the T Force Vulcan Z 64 GB(4x16GB sticks) 3200MHz CL16. I was running it with a GTX 1660 Super that I got from purchasing a refurbished Optiplex 7050. After a couple of weeks I went back to your Tustin store and was able to pick up the Zotac Gaming RTX 4060 Solo. That has tremendously cut my rendering time and made it so I can edit 4K videos now. after watching several videos from other youtubers who go to your store to build gaming pc's, Ive since added more RGB lights and got custom white PCIE cables along with 24 pin and 8 pin power cables for the motherboard.

I don't do much gaming anymore, but my old build was 2015, and I literally could not play some of the more recent games even if I wanted to. The old build was still fine for most day-to-day stuff and I wanted another build that would go the distance. So here we are. My first build was 1998, and PC components have come a long way. I wanted something that could run Cyberpunk at 2k on max settings and still get over 60 FPS. I wanted something that I could hook up a top tier VR headset to without worries. The Lian Li components are super good, but they don't have great software support. Mostly, I would say that they are first rate components with second rate software running them. It often resets, and I can't update because of their file servers (or lack thereof). The Lian Li case is superb. The strimmer lighting looks great and is customizable. The CPU cooler is where the RGB software could be better. Even with the great cable management, the back of that case is STUFFED with cables, Lian Li USB controllers, internal USB hub. The fact that I put a RAID 10 SSD array in there didn't help with space. It seems like no mater what improvements are made with cable management, I'll find a way to fill it with cables! I was going with an ASUS 4080, but it was out of stock when I went to the store, so I settled for the Zotac. It's fine, but the RGB is about 3 years behind the RDG in the rest of the box. Even though it was 1200 bucks, I won't hesitate to return it if the 4080 super comes out in time. I may replace it with a 5000 series in a couple of years. My background is scientific computing, and this PC is about on par with the number of threads and memory that was in $20K servers I was using in 2010. I really like that it's super quiet, even with 6 fans. When its running full blast, its makes half the noise that my 2015 does. I'll probably try DnD next...but then will go back to checking my email! This PC specs out in the top 1% in Passmark. But 1% is a huge number of builds. Maybe next time I go ThreadRipper and Nivida XX90!

I use it for school, gaming, and programming, dual booting Windows 10 and EndeavourOS. Some games I play are Minecraft, Cyberpunk, Valorant, and also VR games like BeatSaber. I got the CPU + MOBO + Ram combo and some other parts from Micro Center. One issue I've had with the RX 7800 XT was frame stuttering every few seconds, which I believe is due to a driver issue (on Windows). I fixed it by upgrading drivers and also turning off screen capture, but I hope it will be fixed in the future, as I'm also considering on switching to an RTX 4070 Super. I feel like I might've gone overkill with my specs but it'll definitely last me a good couple years before I need to consider upgrading.
