With this build, I went with a plant and Ghibli theming. I did a case mod of putting a smaller monitor in the front of the case in order to use wallpaper engine to add to the aesthetic of the build. This build was challenging not only because of the monitor mod but also because I top-mounted the AIO which required another mod to be able to attach it.$2,513.90 -

I used to be a competitive gamer but then shifted more towards casual light gaming while adding an emphasis on using the space for school. The build emphasizes form over function as I chose to make it look better instead of using the money for better parts. While I do regret not getting a better graphics card, I'm very happy with my build as it fits my everyday needs.$1,164.91 -

This project is essentially a rebuild of a gaming pc I had previously assembled. This previous build had problems, though. Specifically, I had temps on my 5800x that were quite frankly unacceptable, often spiking over 90 degrees C while under heavy load from a video editing application. The Arctic Liquid Freezer II is one of the best reviewed cpu coolers and has made a significant positive impact on the cooling for this build. One thing I learned through this process is that there is more than one revision of the Ryzen 7 5800x cpu. Many online review sites demonstrate newer revisions of the 5800x run a cooler temperatures and at a lower power draw. So looking back on my purchases, I wish I had specifically bought only the newer revision of the 5800x.$2,044.92 -

I'd say the only thing holding it back is the gpu but for a compact build it's plenty powerful! I would go with a different gpu unless your fine with it being oversized for the case (still max temps are 69 C) I play multiversus, Sons of the Forest, rocket league, Call of Duty warzone 2.0(not much), and Fall guys on this rig now a bit. they all play perfectly except the forest (early access[solid 60ish with stutters]) I would recommend maybe a rx 6700 or 6800 but at least that gives me a upgrade path!$1,671.90 -

We had a lot of the parts we needed. Thought about doing some kind of traveling honeymoon, but as time went on we decided on finishing each of our first DIY builds and playing Elden Ring during about a week and a half Staycation during the holidays. Everything went decently smooth until she did her cable management and her PC would no longer turn on, even after it already had a few times before. Spent a few hours checking and making sure everything was well connected. After about the 4th hour we realized one single pin on the Lian Li 24 pin had come out. Thanks to Microcenter for making 2 Decent builds very budget friendly.$2,470.85
