It's paired with an RTX 4080 GPU for the ability to handle 4K graphics. My original plan was to get an RTX 4090, but its performance gain per dollar is not as great compared to an RTX 4080. It was the right choice. This build is enough to run all modern games in 4K while maintaining a respectable 120 FPS+.$2,859.94 -

I don't do much gaming anymore, but my old build was 2015, and I literally could not play some of the more recent games even if I wanted to. The old build was still fine for most day-to-day stuff and I wanted another build that would go the distance. So here we are. My first build was 1998, and PC components have come a long way. I wanted something that could run Cyberpunk at 2k on max settings and still get over 60 FPS. I wanted something that I could hook up a top tier VR headset to without worries. The Lian Li components are super good, but they don't have great software support. Mostly, I would say that they are first rate components with second rate software running them. It often resets, and I can't update because of their file servers (or lack thereof). The Lian Li case is superb. The strimmer lighting looks great and is customizable. The CPU cooler is where the RGB software could be better. Even with the great cable management, the back of that case is STUFFED with cables, Lian Li USB controllers, internal USB hub. The fact that I put a RAID 10 SSD array in there didn't help with space. It seems like no mater what improvements are made with cable management, I'll find a way to fill it with cables! I was going with an ASUS 4080, but it was out of stock when I went to the store, so I settled for the Zotac. It's fine, but the RGB is about 3 years behind the RDG in the rest of the box. Even though it was 1200 bucks, I won't hesitate to return it if the 4080 super comes out in time. I may replace it with a 5000 series in a couple of years. My background is scientific computing, and this PC is about on par with the number of threads and memory that was in $20K servers I was using in 2010. I really like that it's super quiet, even with 6 fans. When its running full blast, its makes half the noise that my 2015 does. I'll probably try DnD next...but then will go back to checking my email! This PC specs out in the top 1% in Passmark. But 1% is a huge number of builds. Maybe next time I go ThreadRipper and Nivida XX90!$3,655.81 -

It's the first pc/console or large purchase that I've been able to buy using my own money, instead of my parents. Mainly used for gaming and media consumption. Up until this point, I had been using a gaming desktop based on a Ryzen 5 3600 cpu and a nvidia gtx 1060 graphics card. I finally reached the point where I was no longer happy with the gaming performance I was getting out of it - namely in playing the recently released game Starfield. I looked at some gaming benchmarks and realized that the 3600 cpu still actually holds its weight pretty well in the realm of midrange gaming. And so ultimately what I did was replace the gtx 1060 with a new AMD RX 6650 XT 8gb graphics card.$658.92 -

Along with anything else I may need to do on a computer. The future upgrades I see coming is adding the Lian-Li strimmer's for the 24 pin and 12 pin, and maybe 32 GB more of DDR5 ram. I have also added some of my personalization to it by adding bear-bricks in certain locations within the case.$3,259.84 -

It's mainly built for gaming but light workloads too as I do work from home sometimes. My GF does art and makes stickers and plan on adding a lot of these as the time comes (also have ideas in mind for a distro block and custom loops). This is built with the Gamdias Neso P1 case, I wanted something that was a bit different as this does flip to its side for what is basically the coolest toaster oven ever. As far as games, I play a lot of OW, Halo, Sea of Thieves, and many of the great single player games that are out there (Cyberpunk, FFXV, Starfield ect). Not entirely done but the system is up and running, and it's FAST! RTX GIGABYTE 4080 Eagle with the Ryzen 7700x make for an excellent pair, combined with PBO and modest OC on the GPU, it has toppled everything I've thrown at it. Case is great, plenty of space for even the largest card and tooless entry makes it a breeze to build in. Excited to see where this all takes me!$2,384.94 -
