It's paired with an RTX 4080 GPU for the ability to handle 4K graphics. My original plan was to get an RTX 4090, but its performance gain per dollar is not as great compared to an RTX 4080. It was the right choice. This build is enough to run all modern games in 4K while maintaining a respectable 120 FPS+.$2,859.94 -

I don't do much gaming anymore, but my old build was 2015, and I literally could not play some of the more recent games even if I wanted to. The old build was still fine for most day-to-day stuff and I wanted another build that would go the distance. So here we are. My first build was 1998, and PC components have come a long way. I wanted something that could run Cyberpunk at 2k on max settings and still get over 60 FPS. I wanted something that I could hook up a top tier VR headset to without worries. The Lian Li components are super good, but they don't have great software support. Mostly, I would say that they are first rate components with second rate software running them. It often resets, and I can't update because of their file servers (or lack thereof). The Lian Li case is superb. The strimmer lighting looks great and is customizable. The CPU cooler is where the RGB software could be better. Even with the great cable management, the back of that case is STUFFED with cables, Lian Li USB controllers, internal USB hub. The fact that I put a RAID 10 SSD array in there didn't help with space. It seems like no mater what improvements are made with cable management, I'll find a way to fill it with cables! I was going with an ASUS 4080, but it was out of stock when I went to the store, so I settled for the Zotac. It's fine, but the RGB is about 3 years behind the RDG in the rest of the box. Even though it was 1200 bucks, I won't hesitate to return it if the 4080 super comes out in time. I may replace it with a 5000 series in a couple of years. My background is scientific computing, and this PC is about on par with the number of threads and memory that was in $20K servers I was using in 2010. I really like that it's super quiet, even with 6 fans. When its running full blast, its makes half the noise that my 2015 does. I'll probably try DnD next...but then will go back to checking my email! This PC specs out in the top 1% in Passmark. But 1% is a huge number of builds. Maybe next time I go ThreadRipper and Nivida XX90!$3,655.81 -

Paired with a 144hz monitor, it delivers excellent performance in GPU and CPU intensive games. Played through Cyberpunk: Phantom Liberty 2.0 with ray tracing on low and native 1440p (no upscaling) and was able to get a solid 60 (sometimes more depending on location). Along with anything else I may need to do on a computer. The future upgrades I see coming is adding the Lian-Li strimmer's for the 24 pin and 12 pin, and maybe 32 GB more of DDR5 ram. It's mainly built for gaming but light workloads too as I do work from home sometimes. My GF does art and makes stickers and plan on adding a lot of these as the time comes (also have ideas in mind for a distro block and custom loops). This is built with the Gamdias Neso P1 case, I wanted something that was a bit different as this does flip to its side for what is basically the coolest toaster oven ever. As far as games, I play a lot of OW, Halo, Sea of Thieves, and many of the great single player games that are out there (Cyberpunk, FFXV, Starfield ect). Not entirely done but the system is up and running, and it's FAST! RTX GIGABYTE 4080 Eagle with the Ryzen 7700x make for an excellent pair, combined with PBO and modest OC on the GPU, it has toppled everything I've thrown at it. Case is great, plenty of space for even the largest card and tooless entry makes it a breeze to build in. Excited to see where this all takes me!$2,384.94 -

I needed something that would take nearly anything I threw at it and not miss a beat. I like to multitask while editing photos and usually have a few different programs open at once for my workflow and really need a system that would be able to handle this and render the changes made while editing, same thing for when I'm working on editing videos. When I'm not working, I do enjoy some pretty heavy gaming. 4k was not a huge worry to me, as I would have to update my monitors, but also wanted a rig that would run the AAA titles at 2k and provide a great experience. I have also recently gotten into Sim Racing and wanted a system that I could move into VR with if I wanted to. This build checked all of the boxes for me and I am very happy with the results. I have not found anything that I would have done different at this point. The build has blown me away and I am very happy with it!$2,421.35 -

I will describe my thought process with some of the components and if you have any questions I’d be happy to share my experience. CPU - I chose the Ryzen 5 7600x because my main activity was gaming and I got a great deal on it at $199. I game mostly at 1440p and 4k so it handles everything I throw at it extremely well. Generally when gaming I don’t see temps over 75 C. On cinebench, my score is around 15k. Starfield seems to run a little hotter than other games (even Cyberpunk) CPU Cooler - Thermalright Peerless assassin RGB - seems to work pretty well overall. Make sure it fits in your case, it’s pretty big. RGB lights sync well with all the other lights in the case. Installation was pretty simple overall. GPU - I originally had the rx 6800 but was a little underwhelmed with the performance. Specifically on Elden Ring, my PS5 seemed to play it better. I decided to sell that and upgrade to the 7900 XT and wow, this GPU is awesome. I’m playing Cyberpunk on Ultra settings with no RT and I’m getting around 120 fps on average in 1440p. My TimeSpy score is around 25,000. The only drawback is RayTracing, but personally I don’t really notice a huge difference except the drop in FPS… so RT is not really important to me. I also love the 20 GB of VRAM and feel like that’s going to future proof the build well. Case - H5 Flow - This case was really easy to build in for a first time builder. I really like the GPU fan at the bottom of the case. My GPU always stays pretty cool compared to my CPU. Also the RGB fans are really nice looking. Motherboard - B650 tomahawk - I liked this MB mainly because it had a pre installed IO shield. I also think that the MSI bios is pretty easy to navigate and tweak settings. I made sure to update the BIOS as soon as everything posted. PSU - Corsair 1000w - Works very well. Plenty of headroom for future upgrades.$1,842.46 -

I spent a lot of time researching how to build a PC and watched tons of YouTube videos. Fortunately, everything paid off. I got my first gaming PC that I built myself! It is running great so far. RTX 4080 GPU is a beast. It can run God of War at ultra graphic and still maintain 130+ FPS. I haven't tried other games, but it will probably do well! I didn't expect the GPU to be this chunky, so I didn't buy a riser. I am currently plugging in my RTX 4080 GPU straight into the MB's PCIE port. I've been using cheap pre-builts since my last build and finally decided to treat myself again. I wanted to be able to dabble in 3D rendering and get back into gaming. This build should do the trick. The build went fairly smoothly. I only had to uninstall and redo the AIO once, since I wasn't able to get it to reach the CPU the first way I had it installed. It's possible I just had it wrong, but by that point I just wanted it done. :) As for the parts, the power supply may be a bit overkill. I wasn't sure which one to pick so while discussing it with the sales person they suggested this one. Since it will most likely outlast the other parts and wasn't that much more than one of the other options I had selected before heading to the store, I went with the suggested power supply. So far I'm happy with it. My simple "beginner" renders that took an hour or more on my last PC now take a minute or two... and games run smoothly. Temps stay cool, and it's not too loud under normal use. The GPU fans do make some noise under load, but not too bad. I haven't changed anything from the stock settings so far.$2,439.94 -

Built this PC as a primarily gaming focused rig with 3D modeling and light AI training on the side. 7700x paired with a 4080. I am currently on a survival game kick, but I play pretty much anything first person. Obviously this PC has no problem keeping up! If I did it again, I would use a smaller cooler than the NHD-15. It performs fantastic, but it is so big it is hard to work around when adding an M.2 drive for instance. Now, I would for a b650 motherboard over the x670, but at the time, the B series boards were the same price as the x670 boards.$2,438.91 -

I had this build started on 5-11-2023 at Micro Center in Denver Colorado. It came to completion when I took the rig back and had them install additional fans and the Corsair commander Core to control the additional fans and RGB lights. One of the reasons I wanted this rig was to drive my Samsung 49" Neo G9 monitor. Why didn't I just go all in and get the rtx 4090 gpu? Budgeting to say it honestly and having all the other top end component makes upgrading to the 4090 in time extremely easy. I Play: Horizon Zero Dawn FarCry 5 and 6 Spiderman Remastered Hogwarts Legacy Undawn when it Launches in June 2023 PayDay 3 when it releases late in 2023 and anything else that has a good story, good combat and sweet graphics$4,109.83 -

This machine is what I run my business on (dbw-media.com), as well as my hobbies. I've played guitar since the age of 5, and eventually got into music production and also DJing. I stream DJ sets on Twitch (xxDamianUSxx) as well as upload recorded sets to YouTube. Having shopped at Microcenter for around 20 years building PCs, I am honored to share this top-level build! Yes, I obviously also play games on this rig, so don't worry!! (CyberPunk 2077, Eve Online, Star Citizen, Destiny 2 and World of Tanks).$5,913.79 -

This is a very nice gaming computer that would play any AAA titles at the best settings, featuring the best AMD AM4 Gaming CPU, the Ryzen 5800X3D w/3D V-Cache. The CPU is liquid cooled and paired with an RX 6900XT, which would trade blows with the RTX 3090. It will easily handle games at High settings 240+ FPS at 1080p or 150-200fps+ at 1440p and would be an excellent choice for COD MWII. eSports titles could easily run much higher FPS and push 240Hz panels very well. The system would make an excellent gaming rig capable of playing Halo Infinite, Fortnite, PUBG, Battlefield 2042, GTA 5, COD MWII or Warzone 2, Destiny 2, WoW, Cyberpunk 2077, etc.$2,164.92 -

Currently I don't have any channel I upload on, but I do plan on having one and using this machine to create the content for it. Right now I only work on personal projects. For what I play now, I play many games on my PC such as Minecraft, RE4 Remake, GTA V, MW2 (2022), Forza Horizon 5, and Spiderman to name a few. In the future I may upgrade to platform like WRX80 or a newer HEDT platform once I can find a good deal on one. I am really happy with this system currently though as it is and have no plans on doing any major upgrades for a little while. Only thing I can think of adding is more NVME drives by getting a NVME card that supports 4 drives.$3,810.48 -

I recently started a YouTube channel related to PC tech and finally realized I needed to upgrade my GPU (had a 6900xt) to have more consistency and performance within Davinci Resolve. Also, the grey screen crash that AMD has when using multiple monitor setups was infuriating and I had enough. The high power draw in multiple monitor setups as well as high temps (over 90 hotspot in demanding games) made me go Green as well. For gaming, I do dabble around in AAA titles, but I’m a huge Total War fan (almost 2k hours across Warhammer games) so I do need a good gpu. Why the 4080 instead of the 4090? At the end of the day, it’s a minimum 400 dollars cheaper. I game at 1440p and the increase performance for a 4090 to a 4080 is not worth the price to performance difference. Also I wanted an asus tuf card as it’s the most aesthetically pleasing to me, as well as staying within the Asus ecosystem. The insane power efficiency of the 4080 is great too. Most personally though, I just personally don’t like being on the bleeding edge of tech. It’s a money trap and you can never truly be “top end” for long. Probably why I’m satisfied with Amd gpus for so long.$4,082.93 -
