He is been using my gaming PC for the last couple of months because his laptop isn't powerful enough for him, so I decided to build him one as well. He is mainly playing Fortnite and Minecraft. A basic gaming PC with an RTX 3060 GPU is enough. Surprisingly, This PC runs a lot of high-end games really well despite it being a $800 PC.$843.95 -

He approached me as someone who had always been a console gamer in the past, but with present desire to try out mid-range pc gaming at 1440p resolution. So this very basic project was built as a favor to him. I think he's playing through Death Stranding at the moment. He's getting overall better performance than the performance available on both of the current consoles, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X$934.92 -

I am planning on playing any game, and I did not have any in mind when building this. I did not particularly want any RGB in my build, and I didn't realize till I started unboxing that my tower had RGB fans in it. I may not have went with that next time if I had noticed.$989.92 -

I built this PC because I wanted to make it as equivalent to the next gen consoles, in terms of the specs. Also, I wanted to run the games that I play on max settings on 1080p as well as making sure that it runs upcoming future titles as well. I play Borderlands 3, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Halo Infinite. The CPU and GPU are similar to the hardware that's on the PS5 based on what I've read, so I wouldn't have to upgrade for the next eight years until the next generation of consoles are released. I got most of my PC parts for free. The motherboard, PSU, and RAM were given to me from a friend because they said that they had issues with it. The hard drive was ripped from my old prebuilt office PC that I had. The rest I had purchased over time. Upgrades: I'll probably upgrade the PSU soon since I don't know how old it is, but it still holds up. I'll probably get a 2TB hard drive soon since most games nowadays need at least 90GB of storage space. I'll probably get another 16GB kit of RAM since I don't see myself making the switch to DDR5 anytime soon. Maybe I'll upgrade my CPU down the line so that I can get the most high end AMD CPU for DDR4, but that'll mean that I'll have to get an AIO to cool it more efficiently. Regrets: I should've researched a better SSD, since the one that I have right now does not have any DRAM, which means boot times can vary. In addition, I should've researched a better case that has airflow. I have some regret on buying the 5600X because the last AM4 CPUs are going to come out in 2022 and I heard that the refreshed AMD CPUs will have 3D V Cache and I don't if it'll be a noticeable increase in performance. However, I did bought the 5600x for 250 so that should be good. I'll sell my 3400G to one of my friends to offset the price even more.$1,006.07 -
