I started off with a console and found myself hitting a cap on my gaming skills and decided it was time for an upgrade. I worked a bit harder and pooled some money together after watching countless youtubers build budget systems using Dell Optiplex's but upon agreeing to my dad to check out the micro center, I was shocked! I quickly sold my xbox and a few of my old games and shoes and headed down to micro center and found the best motherboard cpu deals! If I win, I will use the money to purchase the all new RTX 3070 which has a starting price of exactly 499$ and will be a huge step up from my GTX 1650 Super!$546.44 -

Well I bought all the parts individually last Christmas well not me my older brother except we didn't get a graphics card because they are really expensive the one in my current computer is a 770. I have saved up a total of 400$ so far to buy a new graphics card but I want to get one of the new 3000 series ones or I want to get the 6800xt which I was told my brother might pitch in some money as a Christmas gift so I can buy the 6800xt.$681.73 -

Some of the games the games I play are Call of Duty and Forza which the Gigabyte RX 5500 XT handled perfectly during casual gaming at 1080p. For school, I have many programs running which is why the extra ram was very helpful. Some things I plan on doing in the future are switching graphics cards when the Radeon graphic cards come out or the new 3000 series from NVIDIA come out and adding a new B550 motherboard later down the line.$683.86 -

I decided my 3rd Gen Core I7 was getting old, and here we are. I had to do some research on the latest hardware, and ended up deciding to go with AMD. It has been awhile since I built around AMD, the last time was with the Slot A Processor. I went with the MSI Tomahawk x570. It looked to have a good VRM, with almost all of the features I wanted, plus a couple of extras. It doesn't have a debug LED, but gas Bios flashback. The latter being a feature you will probably never need, but the one time you do, its priceless. Wifi 6, 2.5g lan, usb-c etc. The processor was a interesting problem. The 3600 would have been fine, 4th Gen is coming, what to do.? The 3900x went on sale, and I went all in. 32 gigs, 2 X 16 3600mhz grill Trident Z for my first try at Led's. A Corsair MP 500 ssd for the little bit extra speed. I used my previous Antec 900 watt psu, and my msi 1070 graphics card. I found a EVGA 360 AIO, and a Lian-Li PC-O11DX on sale. Added some LED fans. So far I am very happy with my choices. Its stable, fast, and has good Overclicking options to play with. Thanks Covid!$709.97 -

So I thought ryzen 5 3600 + 16gb ram would be sufficient enough, and I also spent a considerable amount of budget to buy a good 500gb SSD, and a nice set of game keyboards & mouse. Also, I occasionally enjoy games that do not require high quality graphics (minecraft, some steam games, etc), so I chose radeon rx 570 for my video cards. I also need to run some research program like matlab, mathematica, and they run totally fine. For bad part, It would have been better if I chose smaller case. My case seems too big and heavy. The other bad part, when I turn the power on, there is a 5 second lag until motherboard starts to operate. I'm not sure about this issue, but it doesn't bug me too much because once turned on, it is fast enough.$716.91 -

I built this rig with the intention to play mostly FPS games like Apex and do some light 3D modeling on the side. After Covid hit I realized how lucky I was to get an upgrade from my previous laptop as it made online school much easier when running programs like Revit, building the rig also gave me a basic understanding of computers which helped me to take a tech support class. I think if I built this rig in the future I would have saved a bit more and opted for a larger hard drive but I managed to salvage a HDD from a laptop for extra storage even though it isn't the fastest thing in the world. In the near future I would like to upgrade to a monitor with a higher refresh rate.$723.90 -
