As a gaming enthusiast, I wanted a machine that could handle the latest and most demanding games with ease. I play a variety of games, including first-person shooters, RPGs, and sports titles. Some of my favorites include Call of Duty, Skyrim, and Minecraft. However, I knew that building a high-end gaming PC could be expensive, so I decided to create a temporary rig that would allow me to enjoy my favorite games without breaking the bank. I chose components that offered a good balance between performance and affordability. In terms of hardware, my PC has a Ryzen 5 5600X processor, 16GB of RAM, a GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, and a 1TB hard drive. While this may not be the most powerful setup out there, it has allowed me to play most games on high settings with smooth frame rates. In the future, I plan to upgrade my graphics card to a more powerful model, as well as add an SSD for faster load times. Additionally, I may consider upgrading my CPU and RAM to further enhance performance. I wish I had done more research on the compatibility of the components I selected before starting the build; but I was thankfully able to update my motherboard's BIOS using a friend's Zen 2 chip.$863.92 -

I built this because I wanted a good match for a Asus 27" monitor that I love. It's only 1080p but goes up to 144hz refresh rate. The game I'm primarily still playing Overwatch (2, even though 1 was better). I also realized that it was a good time to buy because the prices of the SSD storage and DDR4 ram were much lower than when I looked at them 6-9 months ago. I first tried using the Intel cooler that came in the box with the 13400 cpu. Ultimately, this cooler was too loud (at startup especially) so I scrapped it and put a larger air cooler that is marketed as extremely quiet. Now I think the loudest fans in the system are the two fans on my video card. And that's okay because those only run during gaming sessions.$927.93 -

One is a reliable system with decent performance I can use to do coursework and participate in online classes. The second "need" is, well.. gaming! The 6600 is meeting my gaming needs okay for the moment because I am playing games like Doom Eternal at 1080p resolution.$985.92 -

This build is to play some choice AAA titles at 4K by leaning heavily on adaptive frame rates and turning down any graphics settings that matter less on high-dpi displays than they would at 1080p. Loads of RAM and NVME storage will make a fine server if pcie5 platforms keep maturing faster than raytracing GPUs do.$1,584.91
