I love DMZ on my PS5, wanted to try on PC as well. Used the $399 AMD 7700x bundle at Micro Center, got the 7900xt Hellhound as well from there for $749. This saturates my ASUS 1440p gaming monitors with 200+ fps. Even after I did some undervolting on the CPU to bring the gaming temps from 75 to 65 (personal preference). Lian li fan packs to match the blue of the GPU. Asiahorse sleeved cables for blue theme.$1,489.94 -

I was able to scrape this thing together by finding the absolute cheapest pieces of new technology that I possibly could, and it runs amazing! Faster than Sonic X!! Some of the parts aren't the best I would say. For example the case is huge but on the bright side this means upgrade-ability.$1,805.92 -

Never before having the financial means to do so, I had secured my first consistent, steady job (which is a long story and a long time coming itself). I finally could build my own PC! After years of using hand-me-downs and friends' old pre-builts, which eventually always grinded and slowed to a crawl, using a PC with a powerful processor and a slick NVME SSD is just an entirely different experience. I had been conditioned to expect launching games to take on the scale of minutes. It's funny how it takes a while to deprogram the expectation that launching a game is a long time commitment! And something about games not micro-stuttering or freezing for split moments at a time... something about that feels so smooth and flow-y. Probably the fact that the games' frames are simply just smooth and flow! Shoutout to my good friend Stefanos, who, when I messaged him about wanting to build my own PC, helped me pick out all the parts online and took me to Micro Center the weekend right after to pick *everything* up. I thought the whole process would take months! I took all my parts home, and props to his endless hit points as I bombarded him with questions during assembly. I thought I was about to break my computer in half during nearly every step.$1,814.93 -

I built this PC so that I could game in a college dorm in a small chassis that has plenty of airflow. I upgraded most of my old components into this build, and included an XFX RX 7900XTX, 5800x3d, 3tb of ssd storage, a 240mm AIO watercooler, and 2 hard drives into a tiny 18 liter case.$1,831.93 -

I will describe my thought process with some of the components and if you have any questions I’d be happy to share my experience. CPU - I chose the Ryzen 5 7600x because my main activity was gaming and I got a great deal on it at $199. I game mostly at 1440p and 4k so it handles everything I throw at it extremely well. Generally when gaming I don’t see temps over 75 C. On cinebench, my score is around 15k. Starfield seems to run a little hotter than other games (even Cyberpunk) CPU Cooler - Thermalright Peerless assassin RGB - seems to work pretty well overall. Make sure it fits in your case, it’s pretty big. RGB lights sync well with all the other lights in the case. Installation was pretty simple overall. GPU - I originally had the rx 6800 but was a little underwhelmed with the performance. Specifically on Elden Ring, my PS5 seemed to play it better. I decided to sell that and upgrade to the 7900 XT and wow, this GPU is awesome. I’m playing Cyberpunk on Ultra settings with no RT and I’m getting around 120 fps on average in 1440p. My TimeSpy score is around 25,000. The only drawback is RayTracing, but personally I don’t really notice a huge difference except the drop in FPS… so RT is not really important to me. I also love the 20 GB of VRAM and feel like that’s going to future proof the build well. Case - H5 Flow - This case was really easy to build in for a first time builder. I really like the GPU fan at the bottom of the case. My GPU always stays pretty cool compared to my CPU. Also the RGB fans are really nice looking. Motherboard - B650 tomahawk - I liked this MB mainly because it had a pre installed IO shield. I also think that the MSI bios is pretty easy to navigate and tweak settings. I made sure to update the BIOS as soon as everything posted. PSU - Corsair 1000w - Works very well. Plenty of headroom for future upgrades.$1,842.46 -
