Built as part of a $500 limit challenge, this is an ultimate budget gaming pc for my friend, and it's optimized for her game of choice: Hogwarts Legacy! I have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 coming in soon from amazon, but aside from that this build is entirely from Micro Center. I made use of micro center's $329.99 component part deal to get an Intel Core i7-12700K with 16 gigs of ram in this absolute beast of a budget pc. Thank you Micro Center for your amazing deals!$459.95 -

I built this as a new personal PC build since I sold my old personal build recently. I use it to play games like Minecraft, Genshin, League, Valorant, etc., and use it for CAD projects. If I were to do things differently I would've gotten the white version of the graphics card but nonetheless the PC has satisfied my expectations. I also only paid around $500 for the system which satisfies my budget expectations.$514.99 -

My daughter wanted a better computer and since she helps me upgrade mine from time to time she wanted to build her own. We told her if she could keep it around 500.00 budget we'd help her, so we scoured forums and youtube videos for less expensive builds. We found Toasty Bros there, and they in turn directed us to microcenter where we found a very nice cpu/motherboard/ram combo. with the combo and new case we came in around $570. She got her wish and I got a great father-daughter moment to cherish the rest of my life. :D$574.95 -

This build was 100% motivated by a random impulse purchase at my local Microcenter. I noticed that the newest gen from Intel (13th gen) now had an i3 quad core (4 cores, 8 threads) available and the price at Microcenter was only $99. I decided to grab it and see how much it would bottleneck an older RX 5600 XT that I had going unused. Turns out, the answer is "not at all!"$593.93 -

He had never built a PC before, and his $400 laptop bought for schoolwork would not cut it. He gave me a budget of $700 and already had a monitor and accessories. Now, I could have just bought the parts himself but I instead decided to indoctrinate him into the world of PC building! I took him to the micro center, helped him find the parts, and taught him what everything did. When it came to building the PC he did everything himself with my guidance, and in the end he had a great PC he was satisfied with. Now we play Helldivers and Deep rock together along with other friends. This PC would not be possible without Microcenter's CPU bundles. I have not found parts with similar specs for a better price.$694.94 -

This gaming PC was made after a few of the family's windows laptops were damaged. We have a mac at home, but wanted a dedicated Windows PC at home. I used one of the Micro Center Intel bundles as the basis for the gaming build (The $250 one with the Core i5), then picked out parts to build on top of it. A good thing for my current budget was that I had various storage devices at hand for this build. I did decide to get the case elsewhere as I found an open box deal for a case that normally costs $100. I am happy with how things have turned out for this build. For upgrades, I plan on buying more sticks of ram to double the memory capacity and I am in the middle of getting be quiet case fans for the desktop as the case only had two pre-installed and were quite loud and rumbled a lot. I know the motherboard supports the current 14th gen cpu's, so I may do that whenever those go down in price. And if necessary, I might change the CPU cooler if the current $20 one craps out in the future.$772.92 -

I’ve sketched designs, browsed Reddit, and became determined to make it a reality. I stumbled across a MATX CYBERWOOD case, but to be completely candid, I was not impressed with the design, look or layout of the case. Plus, who uses acrylic side panels these days? I dismissed it, and forgot about it, until I found out CYBERWOOD released another case – this time an ITX case called the M1. However, the original cost seemed excessive for what it was, so I decided not to buy one. Fast-forward to January of 2024, and Amazon suggested the M1 case when I was browsing other SFF cases. Some how I was able to pick up the case bundled with a gen 3.0 riser cable for $37.65. I purchased one immediately, without a plan or knowing what I should do with it. I have an older ITX system (it runs PLEX and a NES emulator) that I originally decided to transfer into this case, but after I started the build, I realized the parts doesn’t do this case justice. It’s unique, special and pretty cool. My photos show how I started the build with these older parts but swapped them for more powerful hardware. To be clear, building in this case is work, but that’s OK, because it’s not annoying – it’s just oddly satisfying. Assembling every part is time consuming, and making everything fit can be a challenge. Parts that ought to fit don’t, and I had to be creative with cable management. I had to make a notch in the wooden power supply bracket to accommodate the switch. The case comes with filter panels, but they have to be attached with the included white tape - after you have finished the case. I ran into an issue with my BeQuiet! 120mm AIO, because the pump is designed to hang freely in the case, without contacting anything. It if does make contact with something, the pump makes a loud and obnoxious vibrating noise. So, I ordered an AIO with the pump built into the block. The Intel i5-12600KF processor is rated for 125 TDP, so most low-profile air coolers will struggle to keep it cool. I tried a Noctua NH-L9x65, but temps were all over the place and the fan contacted the side of the case – which caused it to vibrate and make excessive noise. I tried a Scythe low-profile cooler (with a height of 55mm), but it had to work hard, so the 92mm fan was always running at full speed. So, I ordered a 240mm AIO to keep up with the 12600KF. I also had to order the CYBERWOOD top expansion bay to accommodate the radiator. I had a used AMD 5700 XT on hand (purchased for $130.41) to upgrade my son’s gaming computer but decided to use it for this build, instead. It fits perfectly in the case – it’s 315mm and there is room for airflow. I had to order a gen 4.0 riser cable to get the most out of it, but the price was reasonable. The case does not come prefinished. I spent an afternoon applying 3 coats of polyurethane finish to the wood panels, and lightly sanded between coats. It’s ¼ inch plywood and needs to be protected. I’ve seen CYBERWOOD cases that were stained, but this takes away from the wood’s natural beauty. I highly recommend leaving it raw and just using wood sealer to protect it. I would build in this case again, but I don’t know if CYBERWOOD is still making this case. It appears out of stock on Amazon, but Newegg still has it listed. However, it’s priced between $125.99 and $226.99! I appear to have lucked out, when I found it for this price, and I plan to use, upgrade and enjoy it – as long as it doesn’t start a structure fire. The total build cost was about $849.83.$828.60 -

I had an (probably 10 years) old computer that I built and have been using it daily ever since. At two separate points throughout it's lifecycle, I made two massive upgrades - 1) going from an HDD boot drive to an SSD, and 2) upgrading the video card from one that was mid-range at the time of installation to a modern mid-range card. The video card upgrade was probably 3-4 years ago. Now that I am permanently remote in my day job, I get to spend an enormous amount of time on sitting at my computer. With new lines of CPUs having just been released, I figured now was as good of time as any to do a full, much-needed rebuild of my daily PC. I work on my computer for the full day, every day, and work on side projects (web development, writing, etc.) in the evenings. I do some gaming, but haven't really had a capable machine to really enjoy it in many years. With that, I am many years behind on PC games, so I don't need to play the latest and greatest. With that, and a budget, in mind, I built the whole system from the ground up, but decided to reuse the existing video card. GPU prices are ever-so-slightly beginning to come down, so I thought I'd wait a bit to buy one while catching up on the past 6-8 years of games I haven't been able to play.$869.93 -

The game I'm primarily still playing Overwatch (2, even though 1 was better). I also realized that it was a good time to buy because the prices of the SSD storage and DDR4 ram were much lower than when I looked at them 6-9 months ago. I first tried using the Intel cooler that came in the box with the 13400 cpu. Ultimately, this cooler was too loud (at startup especially) so I scrapped it and put a larger air cooler that is marketed as extremely quiet. Now I think the loudest fans in the system are the two fans on my video card. And that's okay because those only run during gaming sessions.$927.93 -

I built this PC for general purpose usage (web browsing, image editing, software development, maybe some light gaming, etc). I'm pretty happy with it overall. My only complaint might be that I can hear the fans quietly whirring when the room is quiet, but I suppose that's to be expected with a mesh case, and it's not really an issue. I will probably add a couple of HDDs from my old computer for additional storage, but the 1TB SSD is plenty of space and super fast. If I decide to get into PC gaming in the future, I will upgrade the graphics card when prices come down; but the T600 seems more than adequate for general usage.$939.93 -

Here’s a breakdown of why I chose each component and how it contributes to my setup: Gaming. I enjoy a variety of games, from AAA titles to indie gems. Some of my current favorites include "The Witcher 3," "Cyberpunk 2077," "Overwatch," "Fortnite," and "Minecraft." These games demand a solid GPU and CPU to run smoothly, and my setup handles them quite well. 3D Printing. I use software like Blender, Fusion 360, and Tinkercad for designing my 3D prints. The i7-6700 CPU provides the necessary processing power to handle complex 3D modeling tasks without lag. Programs like Cura and PrusaSlicer are essential for converting 3D models into printable files. My GTX 1060 GPU accelerates the slicing process, making it faster and more efficient. Here are the parts and why I got them in this build: CPU: i7-6700 at 3.4GHz- Chosen for its strong performance in both single-threaded and multi-threaded tasks, which is essential for both gaming and 3D modeling. GPU: GTX 1060-6Gb- Provides excellent performance for gaming at 1080p with high settings and is also capable of accelerating rendering tasks in 3D software. 16GB Ram- Sufficient for multitasking, running multiple applications, and handling large 3D models without any slowdown. Storage: 256Gb SSD + 1 Tb HDD - The SSD ensures fast boot times and quick access to frequently used applications, while the HDD offers ample storage for games, large 3D model files, and other media. I boot with Windows 11 for its latest features, compatibility with a wide range of software, and enhanced security measures. By sharing the details of my build and its purposes, I hope to provide insight and inspire others in the community who might have similar interests. Whether you're a fellow gamer or a 3D printing enthusiast, let's engage and discuss the best ways to get the most out of our rigs!$974.96 -

After months of research, tons of Youtube videos, and changing my mind countless times I finally pulled the trigger on my first and definitely not last pc build! I always saw people with these super clean builds and I never thought it would be possible for me but PATIENCE IS KEY! This thing is a beast! I really only play high FPS competitive shooter games and of course I could have spent more money but i wanted to stay under a budget of 1200 AFTER TAX but also be super clean with a mostly all white theme. I really suggest doing tons of research and knowing exactly what you want out of the computer! Anyone can build something like this with a little time and research!$1,003.93 -

Had a budget of around $800, and got a SUPER SOLID rig. Micro center had great deals with their bundles and got a killer deal! I'm still missing a couple of more fans on top of the case for more exhaust and 2 fans on the radiator so I can have a push and pull system. But otherwise very satisfied with my first build. That final price is a little bit higher than what I paid for because of the 3-1 bundle I got from MicroCenter for my MBD, CPU, and RAM but I think this will hold me over for a long time. I’m planning on streaming a lot of games and growing my gaming channel but my end goal is to eventually start doing some freelance work so that I can start turning this investment into a profit. I wanted something that I wouldn’t need to upgrade, for a good price, and I think I accomplished that very well. Built this by myself and was surprised at how simple it was, everything was mostly plug and install. All I did was make sure I took my time and I did the proper research if I wasn't sure of something. A very fun process for sure and really cool to learn about all the different components to a computer that you probably wouldn’t know unless you built a PC for yourself. Scalping for parts was another fun experience for me, I enjoyed looking for the best part available for the right prices and if I decided to build another PC, I would definitely pay more attention to the dimensions and clearances of the cases before buying my parts. As far as budgeting goes if you are starting from scratch I would 100% recommend you buy the MicroCenter bundle just make sure that they have it wherever you are going to get it from. It's the best deal you can get for really good parts and you won't have to worry about those parts being compatible. With the MBD, CPU, and RAM out of the way next step is picking out your graphics card and my advice is to go with the best you can get right now so you don't need to worry about any future upgrades but a lot of it depends on where the market is. If you really need help look for it on the r/buildapc, there you can find a lot people who share information on pretty much anything related to building a PC. I was able to get my 3060 Ti for ~$330 on amazon, this is probably where you should spend a majority of your money for your build especially if you are trying to build a gaming rig. Next thing on the list is the cooling for your CPU and the case I plan to install 7 fans total for my case (2 exhaust on top, 1 fan in the back, and 4 on my radiator in the front) definitely overkill but case fans are very cheap and you can find good deals on bundles everywhere. For the CPU cooler I'd suggest an AIO, there are a ton on the market, just look for one that fits within your price range and is compatible with your CPU and case and go for it, I wanted to install mine on the top of my case which is pretty standard but there wasn't enough clearance in my case so I had to move it to the front which works just as well. If you do go with an AIO make sure you do your research on the correct ways to install it so that you can extend the life of your cooler for as long as possible. Getting into the storage of the device again it'll depend heavily on how many slots your case/motherboard comes and where the market is at the time but I started off with one 1TB NVM.e M.2 SSD for now because storage is very easy to install and upgrade later on. I'd stick to at least one 1TB NVM.e M2 SSD as a bare minimum they are the fastest drives right now, very small, and quick to install. The final part to your build should be the PSU, I got a gold standard 700W PSU which is enough for my build but could be different for yours just look up a PSU wattage calculator online and they'll let you know what's the right amount for your build. The gold certified PSUs are not cheap but from everything I read are very much worth the price just because of how important the PSU is too your entire build, it can also draw power more efficiently saving you a bit of money on your electric bill which is nice. Again this is only my first build and I'm just sharing what I learned from this entire process and my best advice to anyone like me is: take your time, don't force anything if you have to wait it out, just wait it out. Right now is a great time to build beacuse of how cheap the parts are getting but always be careful of what you are buying and who you are buying it from. Some of the sites that helped me out a lot while I was building was pcpartpicker, userbenchmark, microcenter, newegg, and reddit (r/buildapc). Took me some time to get everything aligned together but that is because you always want to make sure you are getting the best quality and value out of your parts so don't stress it just keep it simple go one by one until you get the results you want and as long as you are keeping track of everything it should get easier as you continue going.$1,076.91 -

I have a channel called KwazarPCs. I upgraded this PC with a graphics card. For the last PC i submitted I never redeemed the coupon so the microcenter employee told me that I could submit it again later to get the coupon, and i am going there today so i thought i might as well have this coupon for my laptop purchase.
