I got into sim racing last summer playing ACC very casually on my GF's pc. As I got more into the hobby I wanted to upgrade to a triple monitor setup. This meant upgrading the PC as well and getting a monitor stand. I decided to go all in and spring for a 4090 and 7800X3D, and took advantage of microcenters bundle deal with the cpu/ram/mobo. Shortly after getting the monitor stand. I end up getting a cockpit as well. I regret purchasing the monitor stand and cockpit separately. I should have just gotten the TK P1 Pro bundle, i would have gotten an upgraded cockpit along with the keyboard tray and mouse pad for the same price . Im still very happy with my current setup. Gonna hold off on any more upgrades for the time being, even though I am a bit tempted to upgrade my wheelbase/wheel lol. Thanks to my local Microcenter for providing great customer service and having a wide selection of sim racing gear.

I built this PC in the midst of the GPU Shortage, with parts salvaged from a prebuilt gaming machine. There are no original parts left in the case at this point, but it all started with migrating the build from the original case to the Lian Li Lancool II for improved airflow. I'll also say that case-swapping a prebuilt is more work than building from scratch. From there, over the next two years, I would go on to upgrade the power supply, RAM, GPU, AIO cooler, and added Lian Li RGB Strimer cables for extra FPS! Just two days ago, I swapped the original motherboard and CPU for one of microcenters AMD bundles and now this thing is in its penultimate form. I plan to get rid of all of the RGB and put this born-again-and-again beast into a Fractal North XL case, as much like this PC has matured over the last few years, so have my tastes...even if it means I'll lose some FPS due to lack of RGB.

Past: I’ve had a passion for building computers ever since I was a freshman in high school. Since then, I would stay up nights watching BitWit and Linus. After countless hours, I finally decided on the parts I’ll infuse into my dream PC. The Beginning: Building a PC without even working, especially in a hispanic household had most of it’s disappointments. Being told your vision was only just a matter of time before I gave up on it, bummed me out a lot but I never gave up! Fortunately, after explaining that this will enhance my skill and passion in Hardware Engineering and Software, they allowed me and even helped me. After 1-2 months and camping outside of this Micro Center for a GPU (although I didn’t get the one I wanted but I was desperate), I finally finished. It booted up perfectly. Mid Journey: However… It wasn’t what I wanted it to be. It wasn’t near what I wanted my DREAM PC to be. After being hired for the summer, I made money and invested most of it to upgrading. I upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 5 3600 to Ryzen 7 3700x. I knew my dream case was the Lian Li O11D Mini and with the help of a fellow Micro Center employee, I was encouraged on going through with it! I added case fans and an extra 16GB of RAM which was pricey, but very worth it haha. (A new SFX Power Supply to accommodate with the new case as well. The End of an Era/Issues: After installation of the Motherboard, I realized there wasn't space in the back from the case to mount my AIO. I panicked because I wasn't planning on using the included wraith cooler with my CPU. My AIO pump is so cute! "How could I ever let it go" I thought. I stared for a moment and realized I could install the AIO mount on the Motherboard and then screw the motherboard in. Once again, I was relieved from devestation. After installing everything in the new case, I booted it up. I noticed my hard drive would say 50% usage and it worried me a lot. I frantically searched it up but would be led to a dead end. I never really understood as to why it did that but I assumed it was just because of CPU change. A day later, I tried booting it up for my usual gaming mornings but it turned off in a span of 5 minutes. My worry escalated and I unplugged everything to avoid further damage. I ended up going to Micro Center for a Diagnostic and found out my CPU was nearly cooking itself so it would turn off to protect itself. I actually inserted the CPU pump wire into the wrong header which relieved me because I was afraid I’d have to spend more money on something. After thanking the technicians, I went on my way home to try booting it up and to my surprise, it was a successful startup. There was no powering off which relieved me even more. The only upgrade I have left is a 30 series as I intended to get in April but couldn’t. Though I’m totally okay with what I got (Asus ROG 2060 OC). I’m beyond grateful for my journey and anyone who helped me along with it. Ongoing possible issue: My CPU temp is usually at 55°C during startup but stays at 60-70°C during full load. Is this healthy? The people of Reddit say it’s normal temps from a Ryzen 7 3700x Thank you to everyone who sees this! You’re amazing, loved and appreciated! Have a great day <3 ☆ I try not to submit to the sterotype of pink gamer girls but how could I not?? It's so cute! Don't get me wrong, I sometimes alternate between more nature-y, earth-y colors or simple blues and yellows too lol

My wife bought me gift cards and a date day in Socal to visit Microcenter, and I was able to source 90% of the parts in store. This was a better experience even than I dreamed lol, I'm glad it isn't close to my house or I'd be broke! We have 2 PC's on wall on separate desks. To make it symmetrical I decided to do a reverse build, so the 0-11 XL EVO was it. I worked with a super knowledgeable guy in store who told me he was planning to do something similar, Jeremy I think? SUUPPPERR helpful and helped me pivot away from some bad ideas. Build was easier than I thought, I bought extra Corsair Hydro X PMMA so I could screw up some bends and be ok. I think I only wasted maybe a single 1-meter tube, this stuff once I got the hang of it was super easy. As you can see from the pictures, because this was my first custom loop, I wanted to limit myself to one bend per tube, and use fittings where necessary. Absolutely loved the experience, and the gaming is amazing. 10/10 Microcenter experience!

A couple years back I bought my first PC as a prebuilt as my 6-7 year old ps4 started to die. Skipping all the nitty gritty and fast forwarding to the present, I’m now a fully fledged PC-Building enthusiast that’d totally spend hours building PCs over and over if they could. This rig is meant for both gaming AND productivity. For gaming it drives a 4k 240hz Samsung Neo G8 Monitor and does extremely well with every game I throw at it save for the most unoptimized games. The current games I find myself playing right now include Alan Wake 2, Battlefield 2042, and Counter-Strike 2. It is an absolute pleasure playing anything with this setup. Ontop of 4k and 240Hz I also play in HDR. It doesn’t really give me a competitive advantage but boy do games look even more amazing with HDR on. Alan Wake 2 is incredibly mastered for HDR and I wouldn’t play it without it on. In terms of productivity I also have a drawing tablet hooked up to this pc so I can draw on it. It’s not terribly demanding on the hardware so a lot of the spec of this rig is absolutely overkill for this kind of work, but every bit of power definitely helps rendering the largest projects I do. The 32GB of ram I have installed is an absolute necessity for the kind of work that I do and while a 5800X3D isn’t really a productivity chip, it definitely gets the job done. Especially since nothing I do demands high frequency clock speeds. Overall, this is absolutely a dream build for me. I’m lucky to be able to acquire this kind of hardware. It’s practically my pride and joy. There are some upgrades I’d like to do when I get the money and the chance. That includes personalization, probably some Lian Li Strimer cables. That’s more of a luxury thing than a necessity so naturally those would be the last thing on my things to put in. I’d probably also unplug everything so I can do some better cable management. I built a pc for my friend and am quite jealous of the better cable management I did for him since, at the time, I just knew better. In terms of actual upgraded hardware. I’d probably upgrade to a ddr5 platform down the road, either with the current newest gen or with a future gen down the road.
