Plus, it also works pretty great as a gaming PC. I want this workstation to perform the best and reduce the rendering time while processing my animation project, so I went ahead and picked up a 4090 for this setup because it's pretty much the best out there. After testing it out on a project I was currently working on, I am very happy I made this decision. The rendering time was almost cut in half compared to my old workstation with a 2080ti.$4,719.92 -

After years of laptop gaming and dreaming of a proper rig for my heavier games, I finally made the leap and built it out.... After years of laptop gaming and dreaming of a proper rig for my heavier games, I finally made the leap and built it out. Starting with the hardest-to-find parts in the thick of parts shortages, I was able to ensure my build was balanced and available all at once. Now to get through my huge Steam backlog! The majority of the parts came from Micro Center, and one of the employees helped me spec it out as a balanced build with some parts I had already decided on. She had recommendations for anything I wasn't sure of, caught some errors (and saved me good money), and generally had a great attitude throughout! Throughout the build, I had to make a few changes from the original plan. - One of which was a switch from Crucial memory to Corsair. This was since the Crucial memory didn't have great RGB software and kept getting stuck in an ugly way. Plus, with iCue and the Corsair sticks, I was able to set the hardware defaults so it wouldn't blast rainbow on startup! - Another difficulty I had was with the motherboard firmware. It turns out the RGB controller on the board had an issue where it froze up, and information online was limited. However, I was finally able to find an update via MSI's website that, after a few adjustments, I was able to bring it back in full! - Unrelated to the PC, there was a faulty in-wall ethernet connection in the office of my apartment. It took a long time to resolve, but a LV Electrician saved the day and found a break in the line where it met the panel. I was then able to take down the 25ft Cat6 that was temporarily stretched through the apartment and into the router. Now I have Cat6 running gigabit internet, through a switch, and right into the 2.5G LAN port on the motherboard! - Another issue is that my poor Corsair Virtuoso SE is having random glitches with audio output, but only on this machine. Occasionally and randomly, it will turn to painfully crackly static when in a discord call. Sometimes it gets better and sometimes it gets worse if I wait, but restarting the headset makes it disappear. I tried just about everything (all drivers and possibly relevant software uninstalled or reinstalled) until I found threads suggesting it was the UEFI/BIOS. It looks like the more recent B550 UEFI/BIOS updates have continually chipped away at this problem, so I'm still hopeful, but I should probably reinstall Windows just to be sure. - Finally, I have minor annoyances with the RGB and software of multiple brands being so inconsistent or incompatible. For the crazy amount of money I spent on name brands, I definitely expected a smoother experience! SignalRGB ended up being the cleanest way to control them all, but it's still not perfect. Hoping this continues improving in the future!$4,268.09 -

I started building this PC last year sometime and finished early this year. This machine provides me with everything I need to both play and stream the games that I love at the same time. If you watch any of my content, you'll see that I love FPS games. MW 2019, Apex Legends, Valorant, and less recently Overwatch. If I had to do something differently, it would have to be a larger case. Right now my PSU is at the absolute limit in terms of length available in this case. Right now I don't have any plans to upgrade anything in the PC! The only parts reused from my last build are the Sabrent Rocket 2TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD and the Thermaltake Core P5 case. My previous build was water-cooled, but I am returning to air-cooled for this build. Water-cooling adds weight and the drain and refill maintenance cycle is taxing. My old temps were in the 40°C range under load with occasional peaks up to 50°C. This system runs at 60°C under load with peaks up to 70°C. I view this as sort of a "sleeper." Not a lot of RGB or fluff, but with an AMD 7800X3D CPU and Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, it runs everything as well as can be run .. today. My last build lasted four years before it couldn't run the latest games fluidly. I'm hoping for around that with this one. Check back in four years. I built this PC in the midst of the GPU Shortage, with parts salvaged from a prebuilt gaming machine. There are no original parts left in the case at this point, but it all started with migrating the build from the original case to the Lian Li Lancool II for improved airflow. I'll also say that case-swapping a prebuilt is more work than building from scratch. From there, over the next two years, I would go on to upgrade the power supply, RAM, GPU, AIO cooler, and added Lian Li RGB Strimer cables for extra FPS! Just two days ago, I swapped the original motherboard and CPU for one of microcenters AMD bundles and now this thing is in its penultimate form. I plan to get rid of all of the RGB and put this born-again-and-again beast into a Fractal North XL case, as much like this PC has matured over the last few years, so have my tastes...even if it means I'll lose some FPS due to lack of RGB.$3,192.90 -

I've thrown everything I can at this thing except RAW RED without issue. I love playing Valorant at 240+ fps and New World at an immense 30 +/- 5 fps. I would've added a second spoiler but it didn't seem right. I contemplated swapping the Noctuas on the top for Scythe RGBs like on the bottom but the system looks stealthy when the RGB is off and it doesn't seem worth it to compromise the look. If the be quiet RGB fans were available at the time I would've 100% gone with those throughout the entire build. The 8tb easystore is holding a couple hundered games and movies; It's nearing full I may swap it with a 14TB if the chance arises.$3,191.88 -

As a kid, I always wanted to have a gaming pc of my own, where I could crush any game I wanted and push the limits of performance. My build started in 2017, and I saved every penny I could find to afford it. It's carried me throughout the years to today, with some upgrades of course. Originally, the build consisted of an Intel Core i5-7600K, MSI Z270 Gaming M7, ASUS GTX 1070 STRIX OC, Samsung 850 PRO, and a Seagate Barracuda 2TB. I play indie games like Lethal Company and Undertale, and big games like Battlefield 2042, Mortal Kombat 1, Five Nights at Freddy's, and VRChat. Throughout the time I spent building my pc, I wish I had purchased the parts at once instead of incrementally buying a part when it was possible. I could've gotten newer hardware had I done the former. In the future, I definitely would like to get a 2TB NVME SSD to replace my Seagate hard drive, and upgrade to 32GB of DDR4 ram. I also foresee a switch to the AMD Ryzen 7000 processor line.$2,646.49 -

I've been using cheap pre-builts since my last build and finally decided to treat myself again. I wanted to be able to dabble in 3D rendering and get back into gaming. This build should do the trick. The build went fairly smoothly. I only had to uninstall and redo the AIO once, since I wasn't able to get it to reach the CPU the first way I had it installed. It's possible I just had it wrong, but by that point I just wanted it done. :) As for the parts, the power supply may be a bit overkill. I wasn't sure which one to pick so while discussing it with the sales person they suggested this one. Since it will most likely outlast the other parts and wasn't that much more than one of the other options I had selected before heading to the store, I went with the suggested power supply. So far I'm happy with it. My simple "beginner" renders that took an hour or more on my last PC now take a minute or two... and games run smoothly. Temps stay cool, and it's not too loud under normal use. The GPU fans do make some noise under load, but not too bad. I haven't changed anything from the stock settings so far.$2,439.94 -

I intentionally wanted a subtle RGB that barely lit the rest of the case in Low Light. The Phanteks Fans, and small amount of RG on the Case, TUF gpu, and Tuf MoBo do an excellent job of providing 'just enough' light, without being too gamery. I went for a giant Air Cooler over an AIO because I felt like it would be sufficient cooling for the 5950X, with slightly easier maintenance. Other than the Phanteks Fans, I use BeQuiet Fans on the top and back. I wanted the Computer to be tucked away, because the main focus is my stacked Wall Mounted monitor Setup.
