I wanted to run machine learning development tools for my work which called for getting a higher-end GPU from Nvidia. Since I also love playing some games (Apex ranked atm) it suits a dual purpose for me. I've always wanted to build a custom loop and a white-black themed RGB looks really sweet.$3,118.94 -

This is a small form factor PC I built in a Louqe Ghost S1 case primarily for gaming. I mostly play games like minecraft, VRChat and Factorio, although I also use it for CAD/engineering work. The center point of this build was the case, a very small machined aluminum case that was very challenging to build in but turned out really nice. The entire case fits in a shoebox, so fitting and cooling an RTX 3070 Ti and an i7-12700k was a challenge, but I managed to keep the GPU temps under 75 at full load and while a 20-core synthetic load causes the CPU to hit triple digits (that's why I call it the EZBake), this never happens during actual use. I had to modify some parts to make everything fit: The GPU had its shroud removed, the case had a few mm of metal dremeled off of the inside so the GPU fans wouldn't clip it, and the motherboard VRM heatsinks experienced some similar weight reduction to clear the heatpipes on the cooler.$2,793.86 -

I originally wanted to make my old PC VR-ready (HL: Alyx is not friendly with underpowered parts) by replacing the i5-9400F with an i7, but ended up dumping 2.5k on a new build instead. I clearly needed the 64GB RAM, i7-12700k, and RTX 3070 Ti for Cuphead, Slay the Spire, Dark Souls, and Celeste 😬. The 64GB RAM is nice, though - Lightroom will chew through 32GB if you let it. I'm not really a fan of RGB in the computers I build, so I tend to keep it pretty mellow. Could just be coping because I accidentally bought a mobo that doesn't have headers... but I like the way this turned out. I may not have those RGB gainz, but I can really feel the extra 5 FPS from the $30 Noctua Chromax heatsink covers. After I bought the Torrent, I found out that they were recalled because the fan controllers tended to catch fire - but luckily the one I bought was new stock with a fireless header!$2,544.91 -

I started off with a 700$ budget a couple years back in 2017 and had an alright PC with a 1050ti and a ryzen 5 1600, but I gradually gained money over time and saved up and eventually got the chance to upgrade parts one by one. Here I am now. Thanks to Microcenter for the fact that they literally have literally every computer part in the store. It is exciting every time I walk into there. It is such an amazing place for "geeks" like me honestly. I hope to definitely one day be able to afford a higher end GPU and hopefully make my setup and build look even better with more lighting mainly for the GPU, but at this time I can deal with what I have. Everything seems great, I can do my school work and multitask and game fine. On top of that I can stream well with consistent frames thanks to the new NVENC, but I am pretty sure my 3900x can handle streaming just as well.$2,339.36 -

I built this PC because I was placed on full quarantine because I have diabetes. I had always wanted to build my own Gaming PC but never had the time to do it. Well, I finally got the time to do it. It started out being a PC just for gaming. (Which I play Naval Action and the Borderlands series.) I ended up using it to work from home as well. This build has been very solid and I am very proud of my work!$2,292.87
