It was there I first noticed the "Extreme gaming Rig" giveaways. Despite my best efforts at winning what I thought was the pinnacle gaming experience. I was never able to win one for myself. Years went by and I started building budget systems. They got the job done but I was always anxious to jump into the next project. One day while I was planning out my next build and I saw this ridiculously over the top PC build on youtube. The type with an absurd amount of fans, RGB lighting, and a PSU large enough to power a small city. It brought me back to the lazy days when I was browsing through gaming magazines, signing up for anything with a free entry. I decided I had waited long enough; rearranged my budget and went to work. If I couldn't win that gaming PC I was going to build it. Chungus Ultra was born. At it's core it's a Gaming PC, but I use it's extra power to stand up VMs, RDP for my Apple stuff, and to send/receive phone calls. (I get Imessages on Windows through bluebubble server/app) and to a lesser extent control my Hue smart lighting. The system initially had an RTX 3080, and I recently upgraded to a 4090 Strix OC. I pulled out the old Corsair lighting and replace it with Lian Li Unifans (Corsair RGB cable management is a NIGHTMARE), and I'm looking to replace my DDR5 memory kit. I will be throwing in a 1200w ATX 3.0 PSU once it arrives (yay cable management!). In one of my pics the fans are reversed. I'm aware, I was testing something and they have been fixed.$7,209.52 -

Snagged a Zotac 4090 off of Amazon for 1699 right before they disappeared from everywhere. 140mm fans look great! (too bad they don't have a 420mm Gallahad). And no... I didn't leave the NVME in that slot. I did test with it in that Gen5 slot vs the other M2 slot with the 4 lanes direct to the CPU (so not making the GPU run in 8x PCIE lanes). There was zero performance difference (actually it gets slightly faster 3dmark scores with the PCIE gen 5 M2 slot occupied (within margin of error though). Also.. not sure where the AsRock Nova Wifi went on their website (it's still there if you search, but not on the list of MBs). It is an awesome board so far, both in performance and looks.$5,825.81 -

Initially, this project started out with me just wanting to recase my Omen 30L. Waltzed into MicroCenter for a new case and mobo which I got. But then everything else started coming into play since the case/mobo just wasn't enough. Foolishly I asked the BYOP team if they had any 4090s in stock and they did. They happened to have the ROG Strix 4090 I was looking for and, well, everything kinda went downhill after that. Next thing I know I'm choosing RAM, finding an optimal price for a PSU and then trying to source all the fans I wanted for the build. Whole process took a little over a month or so and lots and lots of $$$$. But, now that everything's complete and rig is working fine, I am a happy camper now.$4,694.94 -

Post-build, I added a few fans and the internal LCD resource monitor. I also reworked the motherboard and GPU power cabling with Corsair's Premium Individually Sleeved Type-5 PSU Cables for a cleaner look. Microcenter was great to work with and delivered a quality product. In hindsight, I would have given more though about RGB. I think it looks great but takes time to setup and maintain.$4,532.87 -

This is my first time dealing with a water cooled gpu and overlooked the case so you will have to have the vertical mount from Lian Li if you plan to run this gpu in the o11d evo case if you don't want the glass pushing against the tubes. The glass panel will shut but I don't like putting stress on the tubes. The pc will easily play Cyberpunk (without rtx overdrive), hogwarts legacy, and Horizon 5 at 100+ fps on max settings with Ray tracing on a 3440x1440p monitor. The GPU overclocks pretty easily and scored very high on 3d mark port royal. I have added a picture of the best overclock setup I could figure out so far but I am still pretty new to overclocking.(just watch JayzTwoCents' review of the card as he is way better than me at that) The case is very easy to cable manage and has a removable hdd bay that sits right above the power supply. However, if you plan on using the hdd bay I would not recommend the Corsair shift power supplies as it gives you very little room to access the cables. The vertical gpu mount does take a couple weeks to arrive from amazon so if you want the build completed all at once I would order that in advance. Once the gpu mount arrives I plan on getting the final 3 intake fans installed and will then be completed.$4,254.87
