I've been meaning to build a PC, and I finally pulled the trigger on a used one with great bones that I was meaning on tinkering with. Unfortunately I was scammed, and the GPU did not work. I waited patiently for a decent deal and decided to buy a 6600xt Eagle from Micro Center when I saw a good deal on it. I then went and bought a fractal case, Noctua fans, and a Noctua CPU cooler for the performance and mainly their aesthetics. I play Forza 5, Halo Infinite, COD Warzone, and a little bit of Sims 4. I also plan on using it for school as I'm pursuing a degree in Cyber Security.$1,122.93 -

I built it pretty recently, with most parts being new, and a couple like the GPU being bought used. I made sure to get a Radeon card so that the drivers would play nice with Linux Mint, my preferred OS. I've been playing a quite a few games on it, like CS GO, Doom Eternal, Dying Light, Dota 2, and The Witcher 3. They all run pretty well, so I'm happy with the build. Of course, regular tasks like web browsing also work flawlessly. In hindsight, the one thing I would change is to get the F variant of my Core i5, because I have a dedicated card anyway, making the CPU's integrated GPU pretty much pointless.$887.51 -

I started playing some games like Minecraft, and the hard drive was slowing the system down. I added a GTX 1650 Super, an SSD, and 8 more gigs of RAM to make it a modest yet capable rig.$886.93 -

I built a desktop mainly for the multi-purpose of home, working, information browsing, stock trading, watching movies and sometimes playing small games. Unfortunately, I am not satisfied with this system. The graphics card is relatively weak, and if I have a chance to upgrade the graphics card in the future, I will.$624.95 -

After watching PC builds non stop while I had COVID, I think my first ever build turned out alright. My previous computer was a 7 year old Erazer x315, and after quite a bit of time it was finally burning out. This PC will be used primarily for working from home doing digital marketing and graphic design, with some light video editing thrown in. I know I'm going to catch some flak for some of my part choices. I had a strict budget that I needed to stick to so here's the explanation for the parts that I think will cause the most controversy: Intel i5 10400 - Found this for $125 and with the high prices for AMD, I couldn't justify the extra 100 for the 3% performance boost with the 3600. Gigabyte B460 - The crazy high prices of the Z490 boards meant they weren't in the budget. This also limited my intel choices since the newer cards require the newer boards. GeForce 1060 - This was one of the only components I was able to salvage from my old machine, and thank goodness with graphics prices being what they are right now.$396.95
