For competitive FPS, a high refresh rate monitor is a must! I don't really care about the resolution of the monitor, 1080p is sufficient, so I picked Alienware AW2521HF monitor with a whopping 240hz refresh rate! To handle 1080p graphics, a 3060 ti was enough. After couple of rounds of PUBG, I can feel the difference compared to my older machine. The display is much smoother.$2,514.95 -

I'd say the only thing holding it back is the gpu but for a compact build it's plenty powerful! I would go with a different gpu unless your fine with it being oversized for the case (still max temps are 69 C) I play multiversus, Sons of the Forest, rocket league, Call of Duty warzone 2.0(not much), and Fall guys on this rig now a bit. they all play perfectly except the forest (early access[solid 60ish with stutters]) I would recommend maybe a rx 6700 or 6800 but at least that gives me a upgrade path!$1,671.90 -

My old gaming PC was outdated, so I decided to sell it and build a new one. I was able to recover $1.3k by selling my old PC plus I saved up a bit, so I went all out on this build. Took a while to put it together, but I got it done. After running some test and game, I was very impressed with the performance. I played APEX and DEAD Space remake at max setting without any issue and the cpu temperture remain below 60C. I am glad I went with water cooling.$3,154.94 -

I am going to fix it up when I upgrade my heatsink. It's currently on stock heatsink that came with the CPU. When I play games, the CPU core temperature is around 55C. It's not a huge problem, but I will definitely upgrade before summer hits. I am using this PC primary for gaming. I have played Wild heart and Apex on this PC. It's running very smoothly even at ultra graphical setting. No lag or drag. Overall, I am very happy with this setup.$1,754.95 -

It was a sad day when I recently realized that the am4 socket, one into which I've heavily invested, is now officially obsolete and will see no more released cpu's that are compatible with the socket. Instead of abandoning my am4 setup that has served me well for many years, I decided to buy the processor that represented the single best upgrade available on the am4 socket, which is the 5900x3d. It pairs with my rtx 3080 nicely so far. One thing i might have done differently is a minor compatibility ive found between my motherboard and this particular rtx 3080. Specifically, the size of the graphics card obscures access to some of the sata ports on the motherboard. It's not a huge deal though and I've managed to work around it.$1,714.91 -

Spent a LOT of time perfecting my little area for gaming & research/studies. I use my MBP16 is my study computer and my PC for daily use/gaming and switch between the two computers via a KVM switch where all my peripherals are connected. The GPU is a Manli 4090 Gallardo wrapped in white vinyl. I was worried initially about the hate that this GPU was getting for its relatively low thermal performance, but seeing that it only gets up to about 62 degrees during Cyberpunk, I am more than satisified! I rarely get under 120 fps @ 3440x1440p with DLSS 3 and FG turned on.$3,639.98 -

My main goal with Redshift was converting the processor and graphics card to AMD and this build accomplishes that. In the previous build, I mentioned that Redshift was the only desktop computer in the household, but not anymore. As for Redshift, that computer still has the same components from the last time that I updated it and has become a computer that my sister uses often. I have been experimenting with different routers in my network and expanding my mesh system. With the MR9610, I'm hoping that the 4x4 arrangement would allow for decent speed and range inside and outside the house. It is connected to the MR20EC in one room and the MR7350 in another room. Coverage is great and I might consider upgrading the MR7350 to the MR20EC so that both ends of the house have equivalent performance.$2,837.33 -
