My last build was right after my daughter was born back in '09 with a Q8200 Core 2 Quad and molex fans. Kids are expensive and so are pc parts. I stopped gaming on the pc and I think it's time to get back in. So after over a decade, this built was meant to happen.$1,288.93 -

This is my first PC build in 10 years and first SFF PC. Its a powerhouse and the best PC I've built to date. I play CS2, Diablo 4, Lost Ark, Black Desert and mostly anticipating and excited for Black Myth Wukong. I plan on upgrading to 7900 XT in the near future so then I won't have to upgrade for years to come. This build was super easy for an SFF ITX build because it came with PSU and custom AIO bundle so I didn't have to think about which of those two parts to buy. Even though it was fairy easy it did take me quite some time to finish the build because I wanted to make sure everything was right. I've had to take the PC apart many times and initially I thought it was going to be a pain because of the size but its actually super easy to service as all the panels come off. I've actually changed parts a few times and added custom cables so I had to make many micro adjustments so it gets easier and faster each time. One small "mod" I did to fit the bottom thick 28mm 120mm fans on the bottom was I had to elevate the GPU and to do that I added 4 6-32 nuts and 3/4" screw. It adds about 10mm in height giving it just enough clearance to fit the fans. I hope everyone enjoys this build as much as I did!$1,658.37 -

Was itching for awhile to do a small form factor and finally pulled the trigger. Hoping to get a GPU like the MSI 4070 Ti Super Ventus 2X to fit in the case. I built this basically to run Fusion360 for 3D printing.I was really only focused on a strong CPU as Fusion uses CPU power rather than GPU even for rendering images ( I don’t render any videos). Plus the 7900x had integrated graphics which was enough for now. I wanted a SFF to sit on top of my desk and I was specifically looking to get a small footprint, white case, and possibly wood accents. GPU wasn’t a concern originally so I did not buy one. It’s been a few months now with the build and I have run into some issues when running generative design in Fusion. It’s an AI feature that needs a GPU to display the results as all the processing is done via Fusions Cloud services. So I ended up waiting until the 7800 xt came out to add a GPU. My next big upgrade is to add a 360mm rad and water cool the whole system. Not necessarily because I need to but it’ll be a fun project. I have the NZXT H1 case which isn’t build for a rad that size so I’m planning on 3d printing new internal supports for the case to rearrange how everything fits to make the water cooled system work. The NZXT H1 already comes with an AIO but it only cools the CPU.$1,565.95 -

I wanted a compact desktop PC for video editing and gaming, so I ended up with this mini itx build. Although it's compact, it packs a punch! It's extremely fast rendering my video project compared to my old pc. It's great for gaming as well. I needed a new, mid-range gaming and work PC that is very portable, since I will be moving soon. I built my rig around being able to play DCS, Planetside 2, Squad, and heavily modded Minecraft easily. I also got a mid-range NVIDIA card to be able to perform machine learning tasks for my work. I wanted to upgrade from my budget i7-6700k + GTX 1050 2GB, be able to play the latest games and play DCS without crashing. This gets the job done well, while being pretty power efficient.$1,659.98 -

This time, I wanted something smaller, so it only take up smaller space on my desk. I didn't wont to put my PC tower on the floor. I was able to take advantage of combo deal on the CPU and the motherboard that saved me around $100. I am using this PC mostly for video editing and general works, but I also play some non graphic intensive games. Because I don't really have much need for ultra 4k gaming yet, I kept my old 1080 ti gpu to this build. I will upgrade once the chip shortage die down a bit.$1,323.94 -

My friend is about to leave for graduate school, and he wants to enjoy PC gaming while he still can. He plays mostly Planetside 2, which requires a very good CPU, especially in those larger fights that may have around 200 people in an area. At the same time, he needs a good computer for if he needs to run his machine learning models remotely in the future. Since he will be living in an apartment, we chose a SFF case to accomodate that. As such, I have built this PC for him for him to enjoy and use.$1,042.97 -

I'd say the only thing holding it back is the gpu but for a compact build it's plenty powerful! I would go with a different gpu unless your fine with it being oversized for the case (still max temps are 69 C) I play multiversus, Sons of the Forest, rocket league, Call of Duty warzone 2.0(not much), and Fall guys on this rig now a bit. they all play perfectly except the forest (early access[solid 60ish with stutters]) I would recommend maybe a rx 6700 or 6800 but at least that gives me a upgrade path!$1,671.90 -

This was built as a replacement for my now ten year old previous build that was based around a Gigabyte Z87-D3HP, which was also built with Microcenter’s help. While that old system still runs reliably and stretched its capabilities over the years with simple upgrades over time, I felt ten years was a good time to retire it and start fresh. The new build was intended to be a much faster replacement for the old system’s usual general purpose and gaming tasks, and intended to meet or exceed the capabilities of the new game consoles on the market. My gaming habits are kind of pseudo-sim focused. I’m a big Arma fan, and despite the game’s age, Arma 3 is notorious for running poorly when connected to dedicated servers that have have a lot of custom content or assets interacting with each other on the map. The games I like often love having access to quick processor frequencies over anything else, and that heavily influenced my decision regarding going for an AM5 platform with a 7700x. For starting fresh, I really wanted to get into making a small form factor build. The idea of making a compact powerhouse of a computer that takes up around the same desk real estate of a console sounded very desirable to me. After deciding a Meshlicious case would work well for my needs, and seeing a picture of a build in one that had RGB parts casting light in a lovely glow from within the mesh, I knew I wanted to have something well lit as well. Ended up going so far as to get parts that would specifically match the aesthetic featuring smooth dark panels with white housings for the light emitting parts. One of the other lesser focused objectives of going smaller was the desire to have as few unused headers and ports as possible, as I thought it was weird to go ATX again if I only intended to use one pcie slot, two memory slots, and a couple nvme drives. The result was well worth it, but the pitfalls you usually hear about small form factor builds were definitely a challenge. The primary difficulty for the build was finding an itx motherboard that had the features I want and was from a manufacturer I trusted. Was a good bit discouraging seeing swaths of new atx and m-atx motherboards come out from my favorite manufacturers with seemingly no interest in a reasonable itx equivalent being considered by them. The other major hurtle I suppose would be working in the tight conditions of an itx case. The Meshlicious is certainly not the smallest case out there, but was small enough for my larger hands to have issues routing cables and mounting parts. Fortunately cable management didn’t end up terrible, mostly thanks to the use of m3 standoffs to space out the motherboard and gpu away from each other, granting both more immediate access to fresh air through the side panels, disallowing as much heat sharing between them, and providing space in the middle for cables to run. Speaking of cooling, that actually hasn’t been an issue despite that often being a concern for small form factor. The Meshlicious breathes well, and running exclusively positive air pressure with the aio fans, gpu cooler, and psu all pulling fresh air in seems to keep things cool throughout all the usual use I put it through and the benchmarks I ran to ensure it was working properly. Even the hot running 7700x seems to stick around 60-87C with that EK AIO 280 supplying cool liquid. Very happy with the build so far.$2,216.94 -
