I'm still rocking my pretty MSI GTX 1060 on account of it never breaking a sweat being bottlenecked by my CPU so I'm excited to finally see what it can do on the modern more CPU intensive games! I'd totally recommend the items I purchased.$537.32 -

I built this because I wanted a good match for a Asus 27" monitor that I love. It's only 1080p but goes up to 144hz refresh rate. The game I'm primarily still playing Overwatch (2, even though 1 was better). I also realized that it was a good time to buy because the prices of the SSD storage and DDR4 ram were much lower than when I looked at them 6-9 months ago. I first tried using the Intel cooler that came in the box with the 13400 cpu. Ultimately, this cooler was too loud (at startup especially) so I scrapped it and put a larger air cooler that is marketed as extremely quiet. Now I think the loudest fans in the system are the two fans on my video card. And that's okay because those only run during gaming sessions.$927.93 -

I originally built this rig purely for gaming but over the years that I've had, I've been doing more with it such as school work and video editing. I edit using Davinci Resolve 17 and I'm able to to play pretty much any game with this rig but in recent triple A titles like Elden Ring it does have a few hiccups.$743.93 -

I built this rig because I have gamed on PlayStation for many years and I finally decided it was time to upgrade to a gaming pc. I decided to challenge myself and built it on my own. I did hours of research and visited microcenter several times. I've learned more from Microcenter staff than anywhere else, even the internet. I play GTA, COD multiplayer, and dabble in a bit of Halo Infinite.$2,308.90 -

I've always wanted to have a NAS and a plex server and I deciced to go the DIY route. This will be my first foray into both and I also plan on using it as a playground to learn about virtual machines and more. The current plan is to install unraid and add plex as an app then in the future I'll mess with things such as a minecraft server or home camera system. The chassis is rack mountable and is made by a company called myelectronics based in europe.$553.95 -

This build was 100% motivated by a random impulse purchase at my local Microcenter. I noticed that the newest gen from Intel (13th gen) now had an i3 quad core (4 cores, 8 threads) available and the price at Microcenter was only $99. I decided to grab it and see how much it would bottleneck an older RX 5600 XT that I had going unused. Turns out, the answer is "not at all!"$593.93 -

Mid-range 1440p gaming and general purpose PC used mostly for school/work purposes like programming and editing as well as gaming on the side such as FPS shooting games (Valorant/Apex) and RPG games (Hogwarts/GTAV5). In the future, will add 2 more NVMe's for more storage space. The PC build cost me a little over $1500, having searched for the best deals in stores and local people.$1,635.93 -

I will bring this to college and use it for homework and gaming on the side. With 4080, it can handle any game at any setting no problem. The 4080 is a monster. Puts my older 3070Ti to shame with any game. Obviously, I can't bring this to all my classes so I will use a laptop (MS Surface). The cooler was a pain to install since with the usb connector was in the way of the ram so I and to re-orientate the bracket.$4,285.94
