I've been wanting to build a new PC for quite some time now, and seeing all the Fractal North builds really pushed me to build one of my own. I set a budget of $1600 for this build and the build was about that much after taxes are included. I went for the white case because most of my furniture is white or wood so it fits in perfectly. I've been using it daily for about a week now and it's been great! Super fast and quiet. I love it!$1,479.92 -

This started out as a "minor upgrade" to my gaming machine... ended up as a "build completely new machine and only keep the GPU and data drive". And I only kept the data drive since I replaced it a couple of months ago. Components not listed are the RTX 2080ti GPU, a 500GB NVMe as a boot device and a 2TB NVMe for data. Both Samsungs, but I don't remember the exact models (Evo 980 and 970 something). I output to a TV so I'm limited to 60FPS at 4K, and so far I am getting that with the highest settings on every game I've tried with no DLSS.$1,058.63 -

For games, I enjoy racing sims and racing arcade games such as Project CARS 2 and 3, Forza, and Assetto Corsa Competizione in VR at 4k 90hz. For AI, I run large language models locally, which takes a ton of memory bandwidth and capacity. Microcenter offered a great price on an i7 12700k, which can run my 64GB DDR5 kit at 6200 MT/s. To get the full 6600 MT/s that my kit is rated for, I can uprgrade to a 14th gen chip at a later time if I choose. The massive VRMs of this system's motherboard, the MSI Z690 Ace, should have no issues with the higher core count and power draw of 14th gen. Still, I am pleased with the i7 12700k's performance right now. Upgrading to 12th gen from my old 10th gen setup doubled my memory bandwidth and almost doubled the speed of my large language models. The Gigabyte 3090 Ti is a great VR and AI card too: 24GB VRAM is not a limiting factor in gaming, and almost every VR game runs better on Nvidia than AMD. 24GB VRAM is the sweet spot at this time for AI.$1,824.98 -

Needlessly buy new things just because we want them and proceed to watch YouTube instead of actually gaming. At least I didn't get a 4090 like a certain friend who literally only plays Minecraft in VR all day. In other news I do use this to play STALKER GAMMA/EFP and stream/record it on my YouTube channel (Venoxium).$1,803.94 -

I was able to scrape this thing together by finding the absolute cheapest pieces of new technology that I possibly could, and it runs amazing! Faster than Sonic X!!
